Pretty Cool lesson here, Covers the topic quite well. Ive just made a bunch of detailed courses for beginners and advanced guitarists that you might be interested in. Check it out! would love to know what you and anyone watching this video thinks. Its totally free, and i mean TOTALLY
everyone who plans to play guitar for any length of time should take the effort to learn the basics of chords & scales.
its of structure beneath the musics exterior
to become an advanced player without knowing the basics is similar to an aspiring author who doesnt know the alphabet or a mathematician who cant recite his 123s
nice lesson. i have no idea how to play guitar, and i heard the term "guitar lick" so i youtubed it. just cuz im clueless. i wish i could play though!
Get started now and in a few months you'll be there ;) You probably won't be playing at the level you want but you'll know a few simple chords to some of your fave songs and technically that's "playing" guitar.
david taub any time any place you want to have a guitar jam off i will burn your ax man.oh wait im dreaming again, wha wha whats this thing here oh its a guitar.just kidding man your the bomb thank you so much for all your awesome vids.
I truly appreciate the lessons, but this one did not include the picking. If it's not too much trouble, can you try to include picking on your videos. Thanks much!
These blues lick lessons have been some of your most helpful ones yet! Rock on!
To wc3415: It differs from person to person, some people use other peoples' entire solos as their own. Some people "borrow" parts from others. Some people make everything up on their own. Personally, I do most of my solos on my own, but use some of this stuff (not same exact licks, but same style of techniques) to spice them up.
Hello kind sir, thanks for all the videos. I have a question. When one improvises, does he play mostly licks that are learned previously plus real improvising thrown in to bridge the gaps between licks. or is it mostly on the spot? what would you say is a good ratio between the two? and how would one train to become good at soloing on the spot, what are good habits and mindset to become good at soloing??
well i'm no expert but i'd say learn the scales and as david said on a video dont just learn and copy the riffs, when you play them always throw a little extra, do that and you'll be fine =D

You should make some pauses in the lick in the beginning, it would make it more interesting.
