An incredible showman, and a man with a peculiar beauty(He's not, you know, your typical beauty, but he's got so much charisma and his eyes, oh his eyes! His personality alone makes him sooo handsome) I really started to appreciate Queen in 2007, after having seen the musical "We Will Rock You" in Toronto(which is amazing by the way) I then listened to the CD "Best of"s that my parents had and fell in love with them.

I've just read about his life, and I am so surprised. Is incredible, his life is interesting, and I think I'd like to know how was him in person. I don't know how to feel, and this song as background music while I'm reading his biography, is perfect.

I think he had a strange life, and I'm dissapointed...he died from a disease with just 45 years. I don't know what to say, but now I'm sad.

fabulous song! Nobody seams to realizes that the theme of the main chorus/theme "Who wants to live forever" is by Debussy, from the end of the first movement of La Mer!

Not that there's anything at all wrong with that, quite the opposite. But do go compare!

My gf also noticed the similarity of the two, when she heard that Debussy track while being asleep. She was dreaming of "Who wants to live forever" but in a classical, symphonic context.

@AIRMAN1479 First of all, Brian wrote this song NOT Freddie. Queen was commissioned to write this for the movie Highlander, and Brian wrote it after watching the first cut of the film. He wrote the line "Who wants to live forever" in a cab on his way home from the viewing of the film. Inspiration came from the scene where Connor Macleod (Christopher Lambert) takes his dying wife Heather (Biettie Edney) in his arms at the time of her death. This is also the scene where the song is played.

"A Winters Tale" was the last song to be written by Freddie in Montreaux. However, it was not the last song to be sung by Freddie, some people say "Mother Love" was sung by Freddie in his death bed. The last part of "Mother Love" was sung by Brian as Freddie didn't live long enough to record the last part of the song.
