@Sagittarel you and I both know that Sacramentum sucks, and yes I do disagree with you regarding the vocalist. He sounds just like any other run-of-the-mill No Fashion records vocalist. Nothing unique or amazing about it.
His harsh vox are fine. It's incredibly difficult to do high-pitched harsh vocals without getting overtones. It's actually a good demonstration if you ask me.
Awesome video, awesome record and ahhh I love Munkeby's sax stuff <3333 IF you people haven't checked his band SHINING, you reallllly should. Awesome stuff. And if you want something that's a little chiller, check out Jaga Jazzist, a project that Munkeby was also involved in.
@morganix007 screams rarely sound good without instrumentals. guitars usually eat up the excess distortion in such vocals and all that's left behind is the tone
Black Metal isn't just about shrieking. Good vocals to me would be Quorthon, Nocturno Culto of Darkthrone, & Ihsahn. Of course, Ihsahn does not sound as good as he used to. Have you listened to their cover of Bathory's "A fine day to die"? He sounds almost like Quorthon on that song.
@princessewhiterose Yeah I have heard that great cover. But I still love Bathory's version. I ain't saying that Ihsahn doesn't have talent or so. I just don't like his style of singing. Garm was perfect for me.
haha I love the whole 'true' metal thing, Load of fucking bollocks from kids in their bedrooms scorning anything not KVLT enough for their tastes. Isahn does have a lot more integrity than Dani Filth mind, but probably because he's recently thrown the black metal rulebook he helped write straight out the fucking window.
