atleast GE is trying to make a difference, you dont see major oil companies switching to coal. Forget these people bitching about strip-mining and the black-lung, those are minor issues. Finding a more abundant, cleaner fuel source is the issue at hand.
Those are pretty serious issues. Coal is neither more abundant nor cleaner when you consider the long term health consequences of coal use. We can do without wasting the amount of electricity we do, we choose not too. We choose not to subsidize a decentralized solar/wind grid, build mass transit in and between cities, and educate people about these issues.
After all, those things don't make GE money. This is all GE cares about, end of story.

Yes this is offensive but they should research the continued use of coal. We are not going back to using coal. We have always used coal. It's just that now everyone is so "touchy feely" about fossil fuel use.
