Danzig was awesome as the lead singer of the misfits but he was only front man for one phase of the misfits. and he did it GOOD. i love the danzig era, but graves brought some good shit to the table too. true, he did make it softer and a little more horror-y punk-y but i like it. only guy i don't really care for singing is Jerry Only. he's alright. but i would take danzig/graves any day over him.

I don't know why everyone compares danzig and graves eras. It was almost like two different bands. I think of Graves-era as more of a metal band than a punk band. Both were respectable in their genres and I wish everyone would shut the fuck up about it......

THE NEW MISFITS- there is no more Graves either. It's just Jerry and it's even more fun now. Every song is less than 2 minutes and they shred their guitars up. THe crowd loves it, the pit is ferocious, and it's just a great time with the NEW Fiends. These are Danzig's songs but he has moved on and we are fortunate to have 2 fun bands to see live now.

Danzig IS The Misfits. His voice, his songwriting, his passion, his devotion to horror (punk). It has, will and can never be matched. Glenn wrote and played a lot of the music as well. Danzig was awesome as the lead singer of the misfits but he was only front man for one phase of the misfits. and he did it GOOD. i love the danzig era, but graves brought some good shit to the table too. true, he did make it softer and a little more horror-y punk-y but i like it. only guy i don't really care for singing is Jerry Only. he's alright. but i would take danzig/graves any day over him.

I don't know why everyone compares danzig and graves eras. It was almost like two different bands. I think of Graves-era as more of a metal band than a punk band. Both were respectable in their genres and I wish everyone would shut the fuck up about it......

THE NEW MISFITS- there is no more Graves either. It's just Jerry and it's even more fun now. Every song is less than 2 minutes and they shred their guitars up. THe crowd loves it, the pit is ferocious, and it's just a great time with the NEW Fiends. These are Danzig's songs but he has moved on and we are fortunate to have 2 fun bands to see live now.

(I in fact did meet Mr. Graves at Jubitz Truck Stop in Portland Oregon about 2002-3 when he was actually in the band. #2Michael was great in his last band, but does not look "alike" anyone in the Misfits. #3 He is as much as a putz as you are, #4 Michael isn't even in this song.

But the simple FACT is G is far better lyrically, can actually sing. Not to say the re-re-re-re-re-release whore D doesn't write good music, but he can't pump out good music repeatedly. But if I were to make a list of all time fav Misfits songs I believe it would contain about 3/5ths graves related music and 2/5ths D.. attitude and agelfuck would be like at the top of the list however. Danzig IS The Misfits. His voice, his songwriting, his passion, his devotion to horror (punk). It has, will and can never be matched. Glenn wrote and played a lot of the music as well. Newer fans should also check out TSOL's Dance With Me from '82 - great catchy melodic SoCal punk with macabre themes and lyrics. Peace out, Misfits live on in the new millennium...
