  • First there should not be deadlines and rushing on this health issue because it's important.

Second why did congressional liberals shoot down the idea of having the same health care as us under this bill?

Third why pay 1.6T and put the bill on hard working Americans? There are better ways to help people buy insurance. Such things are tax cuts which also have economic benefits.

  • Is this FOR the health care reform or AGAINST? Just asking.

  • Liberals, Republicans, and sheeple alike, I have a plan to reform health care. It is simple. Make it easy to purchase healthcare from any state you choose tax free to promote competition and drive prices down. If prices do not drop and there is evidence of insurance companies conspiring to raise prices, make arrests, if there is no evidence, then the price of health care is simply rising with inflation. Sorry for the reality. That is all.

  • what do low prices help when insurance companies can just deny coverage for pre-existing conditions or any other reasons they come up with?

  • If denying coverage for pre-existing conditions is so bad, then they should pass laws against it. So far all they've said is "You have a cut on your arm, so instead of making bandage companies offer you a good bandage, we're opening our own bandage company to give you our soggy dirty bandages."

  • In addition to tax cuts people should be able to buy health insurance outside of their state so they can find insurance that best fits their budget and get to keep more of their money from the tax cuts.

  • the right way? I've hardly heard another option. but that's because republicans know we LOVE our health care :|

  • "Reform health care the right way"

    BY DOING NOTHING.

    Nice idea GOP

  • What's amazing is that they think these types of commercials will sway some people. And what's more amazing is they're right.

  • That looks gross. It's going to be paid for you idiots. The national debt is always paid for by taxing the rich or something else. Everyone gets so melodramatic about it.

  • I'm thinking they should've filled the balloon with water, not air.

  • hmmm and what is the right way?

  • Big Pharma and the AMA want government health care more than anybody. Socialism IS the ultimate form of capitalism. Putting into the hands of a few small panels the power to control an industry that is 1/6th of the economy would be an enormous error.

  • "Let's slow down, and reform health care the right way."

By.... not reforming health care at all?

Do the goposaurs have any alternative plans? No. They've got theirs, Jack. Just listen to Mitch McConnell repeat over and over how we've got the best health care system in the world.

Tens of millions un-insured? No problem.

Sick, insure people denied coverage they need? No problem.

Medical bills driving millions to bankruptcy? No problem.

Slow down, no need for reform.

    FU, Chamber of Commerce."

  • Well said.

  • Comment removed

  • we should really slow it down and think about health care reform for a couple more decades before we do anything rash.

  • exactly... once all the poor people and sick people die, we'll do health care reform and make it affordable for the rest of us.

    /sarcasm

  • Woman Dies on Kings County Hospital Floor

Check it here with this title. Daily bread of this "great nation "

  • I am so proud to be a Canadian. We have a humane and efficient health care system

  • World Health Organization ranked the countries of the world in terms of oval health performance, and the U.S. (was) 37th In the fairness of health care, America is 54th. The irony is that the United States spends more per capita for health care than any other nation in the world, (The European Dream p 79 80 & NYT Nov 22, 2004). American education is the same

Soulless Insurance & Pharma Corps legally bribe politicians - See my video about avg payout between 1 to 4 million per Senator

  • Lousy education went down hill thanks to effing racist Nixon

  • "the U.S. (was) 37th " You should either get some numbers that aren't a decade old or at least reread the results. When you remove all the criteria that doesn't pertain to health care, such as the tax rates and having a single-payer or public option (why is this a criteria to compare systems?), and leave only medical and service results, the US ranks near or at number 1.

But, as I said, this is a decade old study and now obsolete.

  • Tell congress to slow down another 50 years.

  • Health Care in USA is ranked 54th (Pay more and get lots lots less)

USA is only developed country not to offer health care to citizens

US is 41st in world in infant mortality Cuba scores higher

Women are 70% more likely to die in childbirth in America than in Europe

Leading cause of death of pregnant women in USA is murder

US is dead last in the growth rate of total compensation to its workforce; they worker longer hours than any other nation & with least vacation time!

  • sugarpuddin88 Lest we forget the outrageous number of abused/molested/kidnapped/murdered/ dysfunctional/children thie "GREAT" nation has. All those pro-life are but a bunch of self-centered egotists, hypocrites, who detest abortion yet are always ready to go to wars and adore their weapons.

  • "US is 41st in world in infant mortality " These numbers are skewed as the US will give underweight premies a chance rather than aborting them. If you count those premies, which generally have a higher mortality rate, of course the numbers are worse.

"Women are 70% more likely to die in childbirth in America than in Europe" Again, this is due to the lower abortion rates.

  • "US is dead last in the growth rate of total compensation to its workforce; they worker longer hours than any other nation & with least vacation time" But we are first in the impoverished being able to move from one class or caste into another through hard work and dilligence. often those who stay at work longer and take less vacation are the middle class who start their own business and run it, achieving greater things.

Remove these out of that statistic or compare like to like next time.

  • I'm afraid the ranks of the disenfranchised are increasing in America

Soulless corporations are allowed to legally bribe politicians & banking oligarchy's fund them as well - Thus, America has no opportunities for the little people

  • "America has no opportunities for the little people" You are right, there's no way a poor man in the midwest can create and build one of the worlds largest shopping franchises. Two guys in their garage can't make a profitable website and make millions with it, and a poor, orphaned black man can't grow up to be president. It could never happen.

  • You state these things like they are the norm and not the exception. If you think everyone has a fair chance in this country, you obviously werent brought up in a home with no money, fucktard.

  • "obviously werent brought up in a home with no money" Obviously. It is so apparent. My single mother/deadbeat father were most definatally rich. The wealfare checks were in the millions and the roach infested gov't apartments were mansions. The struggles to make ends meet where dalliences in the Hamptons.

You saw right through me. All that without a single bit of evidence.

    Good job.... "fucktard"

  • "obviously werent brought up in a home with no money" I just wonder... if you truly believe the circumstances under which I grew up (The money, not the morals and values) were so great, I really think you need to see a shrink, because you have some very deep seated issues with life.

  • bsa

    Just vote with your feet

I used Everbank to roll all of my IRAs, 401ks & Annuities into foreign currency IRAs

I obtained a 2nd citizenship for leverage & to obtain sovereignty

  • "Just vote with your feet" I understand the concept, but the practical application isn't avalible. I can't move too far from my job, it would be detrimental. I live in one of the top 5 most free states.

Foriegn currency is a portion of my portfolio, but the real value is in the US unless there is a big financial tragety.

And a second citizenship won't help, as there is no better country than the US and dual citizenships are not really a leagal option in the US.

    but thank you

  • 102 trillion is owed for SS & Medicare; 53 to 67 have been plundered from other trusts; 25 trillion is owed to the FED & TARP

That is roughly $600K from every american; yet America is 2nd only to Mexico in illiteracy & poverty among industrialized nations

Gov grows 4 Xs faster than economy

Fed spending grows 16 times faster than economy, (16 fold exp in control & gov dependence)

The US gov now holds 57% share of entire Nat Income = Gov makes more than all the money made in private sector!

  • I used to have a '77 Ford Granada. It got 11mpg and was falling apart from a few accidents and rust. But it ran, it was safer than anything on the road, and I could make repair on my own in a couple of hours for pocket change. The foundation worked, unlike most of the cars today.

Yes, there are things wrong with the US. But there are more things that are good.

I (or people who disagree with me) can speak their minds and not fear for their lives. I can get elected and make laws. I can vote.

  • I can from next to nothing and now I have a house I own and a new car (granted it is more difficult to repair). I run two businesses, one of which I own. I share the cultures of parents, along with cultures of the entire world in my back yard (going to try Pakistani food next week). Here you are an American, if I go someplace elce, you know what I'll end up being? An American who abandoned his country rather than fixing it.

  • It took over 100 years for America to fall apart

There is no way mathematically that the entire globe could pay Americas debt if it had 1000 years to do so

Moreover, Americans have lost all but #3 of their civil rights

My grandparents were smart enough to leave their old country for a better life; & so did I

The facts are very clear on Americas collapse; their illiteracy & poverty; They will not only fall, they will never get back up due to its poor low-quality mind-numbed constituency

  • "It took over 100 years for America to fall apart" it took me 30+ year to get 70 ponts over weight. Should I give up because age, my job, my time and metabolism are against me. Or should I begin the 40+ year trek back to health?

"the entire globe could pay Americas debt " True. But that is also the current course. There are ways to pay that debt that have yet to be explored, including the next level of energy production.

  • bsa

Regarding weight - What options do you have?

Regarding America's troubles - What options do you have?

  • "illiteracy & poverty... poor low-quality mind-numbed constituency" The solution to these is education. 230 years ago people disliked the King of England, but didn't fight until... in the 1860s people didn't mind slavery until... In the 1920s people didn't mind progressivism, the Nazis or Mousulini until... In the 1960s people accepted segregation until...

So, the until is going to happen.

You can either fight for good or run away.. I'd rather fight.

  • The Americans don't deserve your patriotism - They won't help you in the fight either!

I refuse to be a martyr for weak-minded ingrates like JFK, MLK, Gandhi or any other

My number one rule above all is rational: Looking out for number one - That's me!

  • "My number one rule above all is rational: Looking out for number one - That's me" Very good. And this is the best country to do that.

However, if you wish to leave, you are free to do so. That's another good thing about this country, we don't inprison you in the country.

"I refuse to be a martyr" No, you won't be a martyr, or a role model... merely an example, or a statistic.

  • "The Americans don't deserve your patriotism " Maybe not. But America does. For the country that Washington, Franklin, Hamilton, addams and so on risked their life, liberty and sacred honor is worth it.

"They won't help you in the fight " Really? So far I see around 500,000 standing up to fight and more join every day. And if it takes 100 years to repair the last 60, I will use my health care to live to 130 and fight.

  • bsa

I admire your ideology; but remember, those same founding fathers stated openly that good government doesn't last without revolt.

Thomas Jefferson said America is doomed if she allows more than 20 years to go by without a revolt against the government!

So even the founding fathers would agree with me: Americans have the Government they deserve!

  • "those same founding fathers stated openly that good government doesn't last without revolt" And revolt we have: 1860s, 1920s, 1940s, 1960s, 1980s, 1990s, and now 2010s. I'd say revolt is very continuous in America.

"the founding fathers would agree with me: Americans have the Government they deserve" Yup, yup, yup. And we have a republic, if we can keep it. And we are fighting to keep it.

  • So you admit your a rich little fuck. yeah i thought so, just because ur daddy paid top dollar to send you to a nice college, doesn't mean that you're better than me. however, our society feels differently. If you cannot see the truths right before your eyes, then you are blind.

  • "So you admit your a rich little fuck" Oh, on the contrary.

"ur daddy paid top dollar to send you to a nice college" My father devorced my mother when I was three and dodged paying child support. He died when I was 14, penniless. My mom, sis and I were on welfare and assisted living. Yes, I went to college... on my dime, which I saved since age 9 and worked for during HS.

"doesn't mean that you're better than me" I don't know you, so how could I. Must be you felt inferior somehow.

  • I wasn't aware of any American revolts after 1900

  • "I wasn't aware of any American revolts after 1900" Well, you just need to read, my friend.

In 1919 the progressives revolted and were able to ban alcohol. In 1920 women waged war against the men and gained legal equality. In 1933 the people revolted against the progressives and got alcohol back. In 1951 the people eliminated US kings by limiting a Pres. to 2 terms. In the 1960s the revolt completed the one from the 1860s. In the 1980s brought a new wave of revolt, continuing the one from

  • The 1920s. The 1980s also saw a reversal on the progressive movement as conservatives revolted and took the White House. The conservatives continued to fight and in the 1990s and 2000s regained the Congress.

revolts don't need to be bloody, they just have to be major and sweeping... even if only in small amounts.

  • My thought was there are no Reb, no Dems; and there never were any Commies or Yanks: Just corporate criminals selling tanks

Bush Sr profited personally 3.6 billion from the Contra Cocaine train - Bribing money he used to elect his retarded drug addict sons

However, Clinton also profited personally. With two other men, they personally profited 100 million from the Contra Cocaine Train

America was hijacked over 100 years ago

  • What do you mean "caste". There are no castes in westernized society, only pay rates. And no, a single mom who works 50 hours a week at a grocery store cannot make enough to be "the middle class who start their own business and run it, achieving greater things". You are mentally challenged.

  • "What do you mean "caste". There are no castes in westernized society, only pay rates." Tell that to the politicians. Rich is a caste, not a pay rate. You ask 50 different Senators and you will get 50 different income levels for rich. But rich is bad, poor is less bad and middle class is okay. Thoss are impromptu castes... except in the US we can rise out of that status, as one day you are middle class, the next you pay the alt. Min. Tax, intended for the rich.

  • "And no, a single mom who works 50 hours a week at a grocery store cannot make enough to be "the middle class who start their own business and run it, achieving greater things". " Okay, so the three I know who did that must be imaginare. I'll let them know they don't exist.

Millionaires can come from poverty. Businesses can grow out of necessity. And in this country the poor can become rich (it happens in other countries, too, but not as often).

  • bsa

There are massive opportunities in other countries for the common man to set up an extremely successful business

I just had this conversation with a colleague in Dallas who is working his fingers to the bone

I just told him, "Mark just show up on the Island and immediately you will notice a 1001 massive money making ideas; and no red tape to start a business"

  • "just show up on the Island " Well, that rules that out. I can't do islands. I even stay off of Manhattan.

  • Bsa

There are Latin American countries that are fertile; as well as New Zealand & Singapore; etc.

My only advise is to avoid the war America is trying to start in Latin America, (they are putting another 10 billion into setting up more bases in Latin America to false flag their way into Chavez territory)

  • Hahah you're being too theoretical and idealistic. There will always be lazy stupid people my friend and there is nothing you can do about it. I'd rather have a country that supports them as well as the rich. Because otherwise we'd end up like a third world country where the rich benefit and the poor get poorer. Oh well at least I'm not living here much longer if health care isn't passed. I can't afford it.

  • "There will always be lazy stupid people my friend and there is nothing you can do about it." This is true. All you can do is give them their Constitutional rights to oportunity. Can a grocer be held responsible if a starving man won't take an apple from him? No. So why should the rich, who offer jobs and opportunity, or the US who give every person a chance to be anything they want, be responcible for a person who refuses to work or see a doctor or take advantage of all the US offers?

  • wow, the bull shit just keeps getting deeper around here.

  • fuck that. I want a public option. I have lived and paid taxes in a country with a public option and I want it here. ASAP.

  • All you need to know is who paid for this ad and you understand why these people think we're moving too fast on something that should've happened decades ago.

Fuck all these obstructionist cunts! The time is NOW!, not later.

Enough of these pathetic Third World health care conditions in the richest country on Earth where poor people have to line up at 4.30am in front of the L.A. Forum just so they can see a volunteer doctor and get a modicum of care for lack of any real alternative.

  • Yes, let's slow dow this health care reform, the US has been doing fine the past 200+ years without it. So what if 40 milion Americans are uninsured, that's nature's way of thinning down the pack, get rid of the old and sickly and the liberals.

  • We had insurance 2 hundred years ago?

  • Here's some reform: 95% marginal tax rate on anyone making over 200K a year in the health insurance industry.

  • And the right way is???

    waiting...

  • Exactly. How about an ad that proposes the "right way"? Nah, they dont have a plan at all, they want to just wait and wait while people go without care. Youll be waiting for a long time my friend.

  • guillermo316...With a comment like this one here I believe you are the "guillermo" from Jimmy Kimmel, right? Go back to your standar single IQ and watch more wrestling. I would say it's more to you intellect.

  • politicians have been promising health care reform for decades... i think that's slow enough.

  • No lets keep waiting. Just let a few thousand more people get sick and go without health care and then...maybe... we will do something. Or just keep waiting. What the hell are we waiting for? You are spot on.

  • Some are waiting in their hospital bed with a pile of health insurance bills...like Obama's mom.

It is government's duty to protect our health, protect our borders, and they betta make sure someone picks up our 911 call if we need help.

  • The Health Insurance companies are going to throw all they can at this in order to bust it.

  • Why dont we Americans just learn to pray harder? thus taking care of all sickness every where forever.

  • amen Noah

  • a health care plan for all is the only way a civilized nation should be. why leave tens of millions uninsured or underinsured?

  • When something is FREE everybody wants it. 600 million people in America? 30% of them morbidly obese? Come on. There is NO WAY. The more people who get it-the cheaper it becomes. Get the picture?

  • You realize the population of the US is only just above 300million?

  • Yes it's been over 300 million for 10yrs whats the news here .....HealthCare should be something like the police and fire department ..something that should not be up for sale and the more you deny the more profits you receive

  • I was responding to a commentor that had claimed the US population was 600 million.

  • Whoever said that? Their wrong

  • LETS PUSH THIS THROUGH LIKE THE WMDs WERE PUSHED ON US FROM BUSH'S MISINFORMATION MACHINE

  • DO AWAY with Medicare and Medicaid too-that's socialized medicine. These old people need to get private insurance. It's ridiculous we are paying for these old fucks to live on and on when they need to do what God intended-let them die. Do AWAY with medicare/medicaid! It will mean a STRONGER, HEALHTIER, and YOUNGER America! Amen! Praise Jesus!!

  • youre' a fuckin idiot......what are you like 16 and think you are invincible

  • The fat fucks and elderly are expensive. SAY NO TO PUBLIC HEALTH INSURANCE!!!

  • Fuck you WinterHaven you don't even have the balls to have a page .........just go away your too stupid to live

  • Winter Haven your comments seconds only the evil ratpubliCONS & the big corporation mob boys....yet looking at your page you are no one...perhaps FBI, CIA...spying or better yet, another paid by the M.F at Ins. Companies to stirr and incite revolt. Go get the nanny. Time for the pacifier and a bottle

  • I noticed that about WinterHaven also as I checked out his page to see who the dumb-fuck he was

  • There are plenty of "alias" here...The channels were opened couple years ago, most likely Bush&co spies And some kids impeersonate their parents.

  • I'm AGAINST health care reform. We have a nation full of peole who abuse their bodies and eat KFC and McCruelty so we have a nation of fat fucks. They all just need to die. What a waste of money giving these mother fuckers health care. They abused their body-they need to have their heart attacks and strokes and just die. NO HEALTH CARE REFORM!!! They also need to do away with Medicare and Medicaid. That's socialized medicine-private insurance ONLY.

  • Winterhaven. When you get cancer that eats away at your tiny little brain after you lose your job and health insurance, we'll see how much talking you do then.

  • If you lose your job and money-you can still go to the hospital and you can't get blood out of a turnip, can you :-)

  • They can't get blood out of a turnip, but they can collect money from your paycheck for the rest of your life.

You can only go to the emergency room once it is to late to get real health care, and they will still bill you into bankruptcy.

  • we are a nation of pigs. I saw a couple yesterday on the street and he had bigger tits than her. And the guy wasn't even 30 years old.

The real epidemic is obese children, because that's an eternal drain on society and the healthcare system.

  • "F" the Chamber of Commerce! What have they ever done, except make excuses for corporations and fight consumers.

  • GOP IDEOLOGY:

Socialism for the rich as they get bailed out and capitalism for the poor, as they have to deal with their crappy private health insurers.

  • Pourquoi avez-vous cette avatar? Êtes-vous français?

  • Why was 'public option' but in quote marks? Oh, because they want to subtlely make it seem like that's a ruse and that the Gov still wants to take your private healthcare away.

Hey, stay the way you are if you want America. The 'greatest country in the world with the greatest healthcare system in the world' ranked at 37th on the World Health Organisation's rankings, while evil, 'socialist' Britian sits at 18th. Blind yourselves with patriotism and racism while the poor are told to go to hell.

  • That's capitalism for ya.

  • The government SHOULD take private insurwnce awayy. if I were Obama and I proposed the public option and the republicans cried out about "socialised medicine. Id be like "oh yeah? did i say public option? i meant single payer. How you like them apples?"

hell their calling him a dictator might as well live up to the name

  • 3star2nr Hey hey

  • sup classic

  • back 2 u

  • Why isn't the chamber against mandatory coverage? Hrmmm.... lets connect the dots. Every must get insurance... and without a public option, the only insurance available will be private insurance... this plan sounds FULL OF WIN!

  • sky yes. but if ou cannot afford the gov will kick the bill - just a step towards single player which will pass on his second term. Point is, with a stronger control of the spending, Medicare will be SAVING billions of dollars. The private insurance companies are the WORST defrauders of the government. it's really a win win situation. Why do you think they are spending over a million a day to contest and create civil unrest. Those are professionals. Like Soprano The worst MOB in this country

  • We need to do away with medicare and medicaid. It's socialized medicine and is NOT the American way!

  • Why didn't the republicans get rid of medicare when they had a chance to vote on it just last week?

It is not the American way to take care of your fellow citizens?

If that is the case, we need to eliminate the socialized police force, the socialized fire dept., the socialized water supply... among other things.

  • Unless they force private insurance companies to take people even with pre-existing conditions. It will drive the cost of health insurance so high NOBODY except the rich would be able to afford it. Heart disease, cancer, AIDS, etc., COSTS MILLIONS A YEAR PER PERSON.

  • the insurance companies are manipulating this bill really well

If it passes without the public option its a huge win for them

Firstly health insurance will b e mandatory. And with no options we'll have to buy from a private company

The restriction of state lines will be repealed, so the large insurance companies will undercut the smaller ones eliminate them, and continue expanding and growing profits until they have a monopoly, and all americans are covered by only 3 or 4 large corporations

  • A strong non profit, or non profit driven option is the only way the bill will work and keep costs down.

Any idiot congressman wwith half a brain should be able to see that.

I dont undderstand why they want to slow anything down, its not a difficult thing to get done.

  • hmm their really terrified of that little public option ehh.

    I really want it now

  • LOL! :)

  • CHAMBER=euphemism for ins. Companies & Big-mama Pharma.

  • so then it does seem insurers and pharmacologists are running scared here....

  • hellshade Actually they are DESPERATE and scared for the first black President will be the only one to fix this country for good. They are sensing the economic orgy is about to end.

  • The public option must be a good idea or they wouldnt be spending this much time and money trying to kill it

  • The only problem with the public option, is it will be too good and the Insurance Companies will lose patients flocking to the public option and the fat cats in the Industry won't get their million dollars bonus'

  • how will e ever survive without our coporate overlords

  • sjcpal...SCREW them SOD THEM let them leave the country and go hide and live in China where they love to set sweat shops. I will never, ever feel sorry for those Big-Pharma/H.C. sharks

  • Don't believe the lies. The money is there when we kill people in foreign lands. The money is there when the bosses of our nation conduct bad business. The money is there when we need to make ridiculous weapons.

    Now its our turn.

  • Absolutely

  • The Republicans and Business promised to fix the health care mess with the free market when they shot down the Clinton health care plan.

    What happened?

Oh yeah, they ruined the economy, spied on the nation, turned their back on New Orleans, and looted the treasury with an illegal war.

    Fool me once....

  • ok who exactly is chambers. this is a new one.

we talk about costs but no one was worried about the trillions for war. we talk about private insurers yet they won't pay for a pre existing condition. can anyone else say we are fucked? because the politicians are in bed with the insurers. ghet your guns ready because the only way to fix this is going to be at the end of a gun barrel. insurers don't care for anything but profit. same for all the politicians that are getting paid off...

  • Comment removed

  • Hardly ,Big pharma is sold out to Obama care . do your research, wake up . YOU HAVE BEEN LIED TO . peace

  • sailfished...hummmmmm I can see you are one of the delusional NWO believers, right? And a Ron Paul supporter? I wish you good and hope you will eventually come back to Earth safe and sound. Cheers. peace out.

  • I plead guilty to all but the delusional part. I am under no illusion that you will investigate anything that will challenge your left /right world view, the same folks as well as specific individuals who Obama railed against in his campaign are now writing the health care bill. facts are facts regardless of whether you want to believe it or not . calmness and serenity back to you

  • sailfished I am not a robot and evidently I (we all) can see some mistakes are being made yet, I know the Prez only had access to the full extent of the bush&co's deep sewage AFTER he was elected. Barack does not walk on waters. it's going to take some calm to build up what was imploded during the past shameful years of the thugs.Obama is a rather shrewd guy and was smarter than ppl give him credit for. Peace

  • Slow down?!?!

We have waited way too long!

  • yeah 20 years since they killed the clinton plan till now wasnt enough time we need to slow down indefinitely

  • They are lying to us!

We must have a single payer health care system only. We can't afford anything else. The Republicans and or O'bama plan, is just more of the same. Plenty of profit for the greedy pharmaceuticals and the health care companies. We should emulate the Veterans Administration. Our own national, 1 payer system, that kinda works.

US have the best doctors and medical facilities in the world that don't work effectively for the whole population.

  • I agree single payer is the way to go but americans are still too terrified of anything that can be called "socialist"

I think obamas idea is a good one and it will work. The only thing I disagree with is mandatiry coverage, and I can bet it was a bluefag or a republican that snuck that in there

If the public option is successful and runs efficiently, then more people will start trusting the govt to handle heatlhcare and the american people will then be more open to a single payer system

  • A trillion dollars on two wars... that's ok. But healthcare.... no way!

  • But they dont get to use there toys and guns in heathcare

  • correction, They dont get to give no bid contracts to blackwater, kbr, haliburton, lockheed martin, etc.

During WW2, FDR said that NO private company should profit off the war or thee rebuilding effort. WW2 lasted 6 years

This war is NOWHERE NEAR the scope of that with nowhere near as formidable an opponent yet its costing us more and taking us longer. It makes you wonder if we're there because its taking long, or we're there because someone is profiting off of us being there.

  • Sorry Kelseywall! I completely agree. I meant to give you a thumbs up but it won't let me undo!

  • How about no way on all three and we keep our trillions of dollars? Each trillion is $3333 for every man woman and child in the nation. That debt is adding up.

  • That makes all kinds of sense. Do you know how much health care costs for a year? A hell of a lot more than $3333 per person. So, even if your implied premise that it will cost us a trillion dollars in extra taxes etc were true (and it's not, do some fucking research), your point only illustrates that it's totally worth it. STFU.

  • The point is that is an additional $3333 per person if the trillion dollar number is accurate. It will be way higher. This is what everyone will pay regardless of if they use the public option or not. There's no reason to believe they won't go into the red in short order. You're right, it likely won't be funded by taxes, instead it will be funded by inflation which devalues the dollars of all of us and hurt the poor the most.

  • "This is what everyone will pay regardless"

Oh really? So, now the main goal of this entire procedure: reducing the cost of health care, is completely out the window?

"go into the red in short order"

Like medicare, medicaid, and the VA? Right. Look, you need to take a second to wash all out the corporate bought opinions you are relying upon and think for yourself. Ask some friends if the health care system is working for them. Go post on EU message boards and ask if what they have works.

  • yeah Ialways find it funny how the fiscally responsible conservatives have no problem running up deficit to fgo kill people, and higher subcontractors.

We have KBR in iraq for the rebuilding effort and to build military instalation, and at the same time we are paying millions to train officers to be civil engineers.

Why does the army need KBR when it has its own corps of engineers?

Why is blackwater there? for security? Why would soldiers need security?

  • Fucking Nazi Purist.

  • MrHell still on crack, hey? And I strongly advised you uesterday from the bottom of my heart to seek immediate help. Really, haldol would do you so good. I'm just concerned with your health. You see, being a liberal /progressive/ democrat we think about the common good contrary to your ilk who can see no further than their belly button. Or is it alcohol stalking your neurotransmitters? tsk tsk tsk.I sure want you to be healthy for the Prez next term. Say hy to texas

  • There they go again mentioning the big $1 T without mentioning the 10 yrs.

  • burntonion 5 trillion and counting

  • lol "deficit", have you ever experienced what it means if you cant "pay back" your deficit? or if you can? do you even know who the money is owed to? no and no right? and 99 percent of all citizens will have to answer like that! so why do they use it as if its an understood concept? think :)

  • "...let's slow down...and reform health care the right way".

The 'let's make things even worse' way. The corporate-fdriendly way.

at 2:00, here's the real deal (whether or not he was all talk is another Q; it was the hard core of the agenda he presented, and knuckles and elbows were clearly part of the picture painted):

and here, the man perennially offering the cut-the-shit arguments, the ones not sexy or conflict-averse enough to get anywhere:

  • 1 trillion dollars to supply health care to every American.

What is that, like 3 less stealth bombers a year?

  • re: steveoboston

Well that's roughly 1% of the US GDP.

And considering US spends 16% of our GDP on healthcare

And other countries spend only 10% of less.

If we're spending 1% once, to save 6% annually.

    I'd say that's a pretty good deal.

  • steveoboston way less than the almost 6 trillion borrowed by bush&co to finance Iraw and give some to Halliburton

  • It's times like this, i'm SOOOOO glad i'm canadian.

I've got an open room for rent if anyone wants to come over for a few years.

  • Might take you on, pal besides my family live in Canada and are also Canadian citizens by now. LUCKY YOU. The filth and corruption of the health industry in this country seconds only nigeria. Peace out

  • fuck the health insurance industry! crooks and liars!

  • Just another vid paid by crook senators and their big-pharma mama

  • Yeah, where did this ad come from?

  • I seriously doubt "big-pharma" is behind the ad. Obama and the big pharmaceutical companies completed their back room dealings recently, to the disdain of many Democrats. Now the big pharmaceutical companies will be spending $150,000,000.00 for ads in favor of Obama care.

When the big pharmaceutical companies think Obama care is a good idea, people should take a serious second look.

  • When exactly did they hear it? Proof please anyone? not "heard through the grapevine"......Washington is filled and thrive on gossip. I should know . I lived there, yet, hypothetically speaking, there was this sort of backdoor meeting, bear in mind Obama is one of THE most shrewded Presidents ever and despise dramaqueens. Hence, some might think he compromised yet...NOT. Let's go on first with pretending to compromise with the health thugs.
