The point is that is an additional $3333 per person if the trillion dollar number is accurate. It will be way higher. This is what everyone will pay regardless of if they use the public option or not. There's no reason to believe they won't go into the red in short order. You're right, it likely won't be funded by taxes, instead it will be funded by inflation which devalues the dollars of all of us and hurt the poor the most.
