The last two years? The economy has been predicted and expected to fail for years, if not decades. Our economy is built on consumption and consumer confidence. Our government has consistently used policies to attempt to stabilize what they knew would eventually fail. Until we go back to a manufacturing based economy, I don't know how we can compete.
