3 of their 7 finals were played on clay, 3 were played on grass and one on hardcourt. so this means that 4/7 of their finals were played on a surface other than clay which federer should have the advantage on. This is an amazing achievement for someone who plays such a clay court game on other surfaces against the most complete player since rod laver.

Nadal is able to win with Federer ONLY when he's 100 % fit, Federer's been in every major final ever since...in or out of form. The problem about their head to head is that Federer....is too good on clay. Nadal's 9 out of 13 wins against Federer came on clay, so cut the crap. I'm not sure "vamos" will come back soon anyway

But, without wanting to take anything of Nadal, I would say this: Fed is able to contest GS finals well past his best,(Rafa has yet to try that), has lost 3 from Rafa in that form,its just matter of the period in the career,Nadal wasnt even close to AO&USO finals in 2006&2007,had he reached the finals then Fed would beat him.But, as always, as one player declines other improves and thats how he got that 5-2 score in GS finals.
