I ust got an oscar in a 30 gallon buut its way to small its still just s baby and I understand I will have to invest in a bigger tank would a 55 gallon be okay for one oscar
@Patthew113 You really should go for 75g at least to keep him happy although some may say you can go 55g, you will be doing constant water changes and he would not be happy in that tight a space!!
@zmarcusz that's one bad thing about oscars. their aggression. they also crap way too much. they are a gross fish i think. i seen them eat their own crap when there is food particles in it yuck!
how do you have oscar fish and Black Ghost knife fish together arent oscar fish fresh water and black ghost knife fish salt water how did you do that ?
@0TheUnderworld0 whats wrong with the decorations? looks like some atlantis shit. has like an ancient city ruins vibe. a LIL cartoonish but its all good. not too serious rofl. and i like the black/white contrast (yin/yang). fish look humongous
Would I be able to keep a medium tiger oscar and a 5" african brown knife together with a 4" striped peacock eel in a 40 gallon until they need a bigger tank?
@Bev13erly45 yes but if you want to keep all those fish you need a heavily filtered 100gallon tank minimum plus oscars grow from 5 inches to 14 inches in 8-9months so you better have money saved for a big tank XD
overstocked. 1 Oscar is the least you can have in a 55 gallon tank. They arent fighting but it is still overstocked. Oscars are very cool fish but they eat like pigs and the rest of the food they dont eat falls on the gravel and will turn into ammonia and kill them. And 75 gallons is the least for a Black Ghost Knife fish and BGK fish needs hiding places like PVC pipe.
i cant believe that your oscars and bgk get along. my oscar ate EVERYTHING in my tankand i had to give him back to the pet shop. it was a shame because his markings were the best ive ever seen on a tiger oscar.
Are knifes compatible w/ Oscars because they killed the knife i had and he's bin with them since i started start...any tips on how to deal w/ this when i get a new knife?
i believe oscars grow faster than knifes but idk thats how it was with my endlichery and datnoids so i just grew them serperately and once t heir growth stopped or evened out i kept them together
Oscars are some of the best looking fish you can find. To bad they would wipe the floor with the fish in my tank. I feed them at my workplace and they would take my hand off.
Nice video I keep a black ghost fish with my 4 oscars an they get along fine, I even have a rainbow tetra and some angel fish which were ment to be rehomed but never happened, 1 year later they are all happy tank mates
dude fuck w.e these people are saying you can keep all those fish in there happily i have a 75 with 4 oscars 2 peacock bass and 1 pleco my fish are livin happily now for about 2 years now
Err, a little...small don't you think??? I only have 1 Tiger oscar, 1 BGK, 1 sailfin, and 2 BN's. In a 115 gallon...O.O I mean it's a nice tank and good looking fish, i would just have gotten a way bigger tank.
Well, is perfect for it, but sure you can put more fish in there, I have an Albino (2.5") with 4 Silver Dollars (2"), 2 Iridescent Sharks (6"), 3 Columbian Sharks (2.5") and 1 Rainbow Shark (2") in a 20 gallon and going to upgrade to a 70 gallon, as far they do pretty well.
hell no....you need at least 1000 gallons if you want to keep an O properly...and you will also need a 10,000 GPH filter and 90% water changed every 2 hours....or you fish will get HITH and DIE!@_@! LOL JK.
no u dont, i have a 34 gallon and i have 2 tiger oscars, with a bunch of dif goramies and stuff and they get along just fine, but i got the oscars at like... 2 months, and were raised with all the fish, so.... i guess it works out....
LOL it was a joke, but how big are your 2 tiger oscars? Obviously small, b/c I can assure you a 34 gallon tank will not house 2 adult Oscars and a bunch of dif goramies and stuff. You will be hard pressed to physicaly fit 2 adult O's in a 34g much less with small fish that they will no doubt eat. In all honesty 2 adult O's need a 75 bare minimum, pref a 90-125.
well in this situation fishes looks happy but i would keep the decorations to minimum more space for fishes to swim around but im sure your gonna upgrade nway
i used to :c i didnt had the time, simple stuff but now im gona do my own amazon basin themed with a black ghost knifefish, probably 12+ corys *idk yest the species*, 5 apple snails, and maybe some tough fish that would be eaten by the BG knifefish
i have a full grown jd and a full grown red devil in a 35 gallon and have been there for years and are swiiming very happily its all about taking care of your water
holy shit thats one of the most beautiful tanks and fish i seen.......but i think u should upgrate a little bigger!! i have a 75 gal with one 5'oscar,3' flower horn,5'catfish,4'ghost knife fish,7'jaguar cichlid!!! i love them all!
oscar is now 7.5'' and the catfish is 7.5''..flowerhorn is out because he is to agressive at 6'' and the knife, and jaguar died...knife got stuck into the filter...jaguar?...
@tagginturf yup... Maybe even more than that

the tank is way to crowed they will wind up ganging up on the weakiest fish and envetaully killing them
MrWestpoin3000 7 months ago
O.o All of those oscars and a ghost knife in a 55Gallon? Super over crowded, they'll end up killing each other off =/
Although your tank is aesthetically pleasing.
