@tom1357924680 Do you really need an AGP card? A Radeon 9800 probably costs more than what you should buy any cards for. It is a decent card but it's only like half the speed and memory of my 8600GT.
sup man i have a question...i just bought a dell, but it has enough room for games 500gb hardrive, 3gb 800mhz ram, 2.40ghz Q6600, and onboard graphics rofl, i just ordered the EVGA 8600gt, same card as yours, and will be here thursday hopefully..you think i can put the card in with stock PSU? i think its a 270, if not i have a 500 around somewhere..
NOO YOU F00L!!!! Don't get a 8600GT, get a 9500GT or a 9600GT, they're better, and if you can, 8800 GT. JUST WHATEVER YOU DO, DONT STOOP FOR THE OLDER YOU WONT GET BETTER PERFORMANCE THAN ME!!!! 9500GT and 9600GT cost about as much as an 8600GT!!!
haha well i already ordered an evga 8600gt, im not hardcore into pc gaming, just casual, and want a bump increase instead of on board graphics..i have a 360 for gaming..
i beg to differ...the 9600gt owns the 360 the 8800gt pwns it (dont even get me started on better cards) anyway...my bro has a 96gt and plays gears pc maxed out at 1366x768 and it looks better than the 360s gears at the same res. and even gets twice the fps (360 is capped at 30 fps for gears pc is 62)
Well actually even the 8600GT owns it because the xbox 360 res is between 720x480 (render most likely) and 1280x720 (resample rendered image). Even the lowly 8600GT pwnz xbox 360 even at higher resolutions.
Note: This is not very high, To get very high in DX9 you have to go to my computer, then drive letter:\program files\electronic arts\crysis\game\config\cvargroups and edit all the cvars, take the top paragraph which has the highest settings and paste it to the bottom of the 3rd settings
Theres a mix of medium and high which works nicely on 1600x1200 I found, very high is the most stressful though and I can only do it with reasonable framerates at 800x600.
closing shadows will restul much better fps

@0234369 that, and recording kills some framerate too.
This is back when I used XviD, now I use Morgan MJPEG or uncompressed for video capture.

9500 is a 8600gt remake, almost the same card, just the nn process are different, 9600gt is way, way better.
kalelsant 2 years ago
9500GT is faster though than 8600.
9600GT is better, but 8800GT is still a bit faster.
I still haven't gotten a new card yet though lol

The 9600GT probably does pretty close to the Xbox 360... and the 8800GT probably owns it.

i beg to differ...the 9600gt owns the 360 the 8800gt pwns it (dont even get me started on better cards) anyway...my bro has a 96gt and plays gears pc maxed out at 1366x768 and it looks better than the 360s gears at the same res. and even gets twice the fps (360 is capped at 30 fps for gears pc is 62)

So therefore 9600 kills x360

The 8800 GT costs a little more but is a much better buy and can run this game much more smoothly, and I'm trying to get a 9800 GTX later...
