oh come on folks, its a software synth...Eric is very talented and usually spectrasonics products are high quality but in the end its just another great piece of software synth wizardry.

I am sure it will make lots of cutting edge sounds.

you can worship or utilize or criticize but ultimately its just a tool. I was making great music 20 years ago with an 8 bit 8 voice sampler with half a meg of sample memory and a korg 8 voice synth sequencing with a 4 track roland sequencer. good old days

The only thins which is bad about spectrasonics is that they're stealing all the technology from KORG. Here are some examples: Chaos is stolen from KARMA and their synth engine which plays multiply samples is nothing but a wavesequence. But except this spectrasonics is great.

well, i tend not to think so. i watched the presentations from Spectrasonics site and among the people in the audience i saw Mr Herbie Hancock, Don Buchla, Tony James, Morris Hayes, etc. Now these artist have nothing in common with trance and other electronica. These are people from jazz community, they are composers. I believe the main use for Omnisphere will be film scoring (like Atmosphere was), but not only. And the sound quality is amazing. Not in this video, definitely.

this is by far the best thing i've ever heard in my life. The synth is awesome and it's not only for trance thongs. But if you think it is this means you don't have any experience how to compose music and use synthesizers.
