  • you did a great job acting in this, and the song is awesome. i like the way you use the song to tell the story. this is yt at it's best!!! thumbs up and favorite and thanks for making this, i really enjoyed it!

  • @efbeckley

    *smiles*

I composed the song during a vacation at the sea, with the waves gently crashing just in front of my eyes: by the way, in my imagination I was on a galleon in the middle of a furious ocean! ^_^

I had some ideas for a follow-up to this movie, but for many heavy personal issues it's remained in my mind/notes/half-scripts... so far: never say never, maybe one day I'll make it!

Thank you so much, for having graced this little thing of such entusiastic words!

    :-D

  • @danbergam thanks for making it, it was a lot of fun to watch. writing an old pirate son never occurred to me, so i'm glad you did it. i'm sure you'll make the next chapter when the time is right. i know how it is to let an idea mature before going to work on it. plus, this is a really big project for one person- you need an assistant, lol!

  • @efbeckley

Oh, that year I wrote a good bunch of pirates songs: I was planning a concept album!

Haha, that's the problem with me: too many ideas! xD

I wish I could make the next chapter: the idea I had is good! Oh, I already had an assistant for this one: my mom, helping me build the fake grotto (oops! Spoiler!) in our living-room and placing the treasure! ;-D

It's amazing what moms can do (and with how much love!) for their sons/daughters! ^_^

  • @danbergam that's definitely a blessing that you have. i didn't get a family, so i envy yours greatly.

  • @efbeckley

    So sorry about that! :'-(

I guess it's its reasons, though.

But: there's a human family you're part of, brothers and sisters towards whom you are a very good brother, giving them love through your songs!

I mean, despite the lackness of love you probably experienced, you've learned the best, rightest lesson: to give all the love you can!

Something I've learned on my own skin: if one got a cross to carry on his shoulders... it's because those shoulders are strong enough!

    :'-)

  • well done that is really great :-)

  • I'm so happy, each time someone takes the time to watch this one... thank you so much for your kind appreciation!

    :-D

  • The music is awesome in both part 1 and 2. You really have quite the talent!

  • :-DDD

First of all let me thank you for having actually watched both part 1 and 2...

In second place, your reference to my music makes me so glad, because Music is my main muse... and I've put a lot of effort in scoring this little thing of mine...

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

    :-D

  • Good Film,

I think the first part was better than the second but both were good.

    Well done.

  • To have this second part watched and commented is even more rare... hence, you have my respect for having done that!

Now. The song has been the first thing I did, some years ago. The whole movie has been created around it, adding more and more things... but the song, in itself, conveys and explains, somehow, the message.

Thank you again, you've put a big smile on my face!

    :-)

  • I missed it what video editor do u use Dan?

  • And me I thank you twice for having noticed that: it's something I appreciate a lot!

I've used many, many editors: PaintShop Pro, Sqirlz Water Reflection and WAX for the digital scenes, Garritan Personal Orchestra and ModPlug Tracker for the music, Reaper for the audio editing, Windows Movie Maker for the montage.

Thank you for stopping by, appreciating, asking! ^_^

  • Very Creative & highly enjoyable!

Also, i just want to mention that i just subscribed today(wanted to make a little Oraigami present for my girlfriend and your videos helped XD) and i noticed one thing straight away.

You have a very very good fan base behind you, not once have i seen one negative comment on your videos, and to me that says something!

Keep up the good work =]

  • So, thank you for watching, appreciating, subscribing!

Your idea for a present is great: I'm sure she'll appreciate i... because an origami present tells many things about one's patience, will, dedication and such!

    :-)

And, *thank you* for watching also this 2nd part of my movie; this part's usually ignored, in opposition to the 1st one... :-\

Yeah, people are very kind with me and my tuts: well, sometimes someone complains, more or less rudely... but I know how to manage them, haha! ;-D

    xD

    Muhahaha!

  • The fastest ten minutes I've had on Youtube. That video was very entertaining. Defo on my faves! Thanks for such a good show on my b day!

  • When I created my account, as Musician, I didn't have the 10 minutes limit.

But then, sadly, I had the terrible idea of switching to Guru... and not that time limit is there.

That's why this second part is a bit too fast... :-\

But, oh well, thank you anyway for enjoying and appreciating it so much! :-D

Thanks to you, also for favoriting it! :-DDD

    Happy birthday, man! ^_^

  • =) Ok, what is "a toi"?

You are very welcome, Dan. Well done. You do produce gr8 videos. The very first ones I saw were the origami ones. Thank you for sharing and trying your best to reply to each & every comment received.

  • à toi = to you

    ^_^

A great thing of you and some other persons is that you are open-minded: you've subscribed to me because of my origami tutorials, but you're open-minded enough for to watch other videos of mine... and this is just wonderful, to me, because yes, I like origami... but 1000 other things as well! ^_^

About the replying: well, I consider the chance to exchange some words with other persons one of the best aspects of YouTube!

    :-D

    More replies will come! ;-)

  • Ah ok. =) So that's what it means. What time is it over there? It's Saturday @ 4.02 p.m., 23.8.2008.

  • It's amazing, how this world may seem little (we talk, no matter where we are) and big (the difference in the time of the day) at the same time.

    Here it's Saturday, 23-08-2008 as well, 10.02 pm! ^_^

  • Wow! Look @ the time zone difference! I still get confused with the time zone difference of 12 hours between me & my bf! (I can be so blur @ times.) He's in Puerto Rico, you see.

Well, have a good night and sweet dreams, Dan. =)

  • Haha, sometimes I'm really distracted!

Here it's 10.16 am, right now...

12 hours of difference, between your and his place?!?

This Life is very strange... and sometimes a person's heart is taken very, very far... I guess it's challenging, for you two, to live this love at such a great distance in between... but I guess that technology, Internet and such, help you to fill this gap, somehow...

It takes patience and strength... :-)

  • Stupid me! Where do I have my head?!?!?

    Here it's 10.02 am!

    Sometimes I really forget my head somewhere else... ^_^;;;;

Shame on me! Shame on me!

    Sorrysorrysorry!

  • LOL! Where do you've your head! Well, what do you think you've between your shoulders! :P

No problem, Dan. I can be absent-minded times too. You're not all alone out there! ;)

Ok, good morning instead of good night to you then. =) Have a lovely weekend.

  • "what do you think you've between your shoulders! :P"

    MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! xD

Well, it's obvious: my moustache! What are heads made if not for to support a good moustache?!?

    xD

    xP

    MUHAHAHAHAHA!

Lovely weekend to you, my friend! ^_^

  • LOL! You are implying that your moustache weighs MORE than your head, Dan? LOL! You are funny! Jolly and friendly. =)

  • No. It isn't about the weight.

    It's about the importance.

    xD

    HAHAHAHA!

    xP

  • LOL! Ok, if you say so! ;)

  • Dan, I do think you sing quite well. =) Merci beaucoup for sharing.

  • You're so kind, Ivy! ^_^

Oh, you know, I've never taken singing lessons... so, I know almost nothing about the right breathing, the right technique and such... but I was really trying to make my singing and acting realistic, the one of a true mariner/pirate... hopily I've quite succeded!

Merci beaucoup à toi, mademoiselle! :-)

  • Great job, especially with the sounds of the crowd. :)

  • Thank you so much!

Definitely, the sound effects are one of the parts I'm more proud of... and the one that required most of the work!

But, really, that crowd seem alive! :-D

Thank you so much for watching, enjoying and so kindly commenting, lady! ^_^

  • You're very welcome!

  • lol funny dan =3

  • Thank you very much! ^_^

  • Hi Dan!!! I am back from my week in mountain!!! Your "Captain Rich" is great!!! I love ever this part!!! I can't stop to see it!!! GOOD

    5 stars and favourite!!!!

  • Hi, Albe!!! :-D

    Welcome back!!! ^_^

Thank you soooooooooooooooooo much, for stopping by and so greatly appreciating it: you made my day! ^_^

Hehe... and the fun isn't over... hehe, I know you know what I mean! ;-D

    Ciaoooooooo!

  • Oh, yes my friend!!! ;-))))

  • MUHAHAHAHAHA!

    xD

  • bello

    mi piacce molto :)

  • Merci beaucoup, Loris... merci beaucoup!

    :-D

  • Another wonderful job Dan. It seems in Italy you have lots of fun? I will wait for the next video you make. take care

  • Thank you so much, man!

Oh, here it's like in the rest of the world, I think... but there must be something, maybe in the air, making us very creative! ^_^

Thank you so much for everything!!! :-D

  • Well done you are most talented. I look forward to watching the next installment.

  • Thank you so much, John!

I'm thinking to a follow-up to this story: it won't be too soon... but I'll definitely want to make it! :-)

Stay tuned (in the meanwhile, many other kinds of videos will be up)!

  • still good!

  • Thank you for stopping by again, you're too kind!

  • welcome!

  • Ok my friend, you have made a small and a BIG mistake ! the small one: 5.06 (electric guitar ?) the big one: now i know where to set sail... parco della Chrusa is our next destination :)

  • Haha! I'm sorry, but them aren't errors! The shiny brooch is an acoustic guitar: it already existed, in some form, in XVIII century! ;-) About "Parco della Chiusa" (a.k.a. "Parco Talon", Talon Park)... well, I don't really live there... hehe! ;-) The cave with the treasure spans... between my corridor, living room and entrance! MUHAHAHAHA! YOU WON'T PUT YOUR HANDS ON MY GOLD! MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Yours Capt. Victor E. Rich ;-D P.S. Do you want a mistake? There's one in each chapter... ;-)
  • DEFENITIVELY ABSOLUTLY AMAZING !!!!! *****

I'm waiting for the making of to knows yours secrets Dan !!!

  • Your enthusiasm is just great, Lionel!

    Merci, merci beaucoup!

I don't know exactly when, yet, but the making of will be up: yes, all the secrets behind this movie will be revealed! :-D

Thank you so much for your great support, man!

    :-)

  • awesome ' for some reason i couldnt get this to play on the first few shares but it did now and loved it ' thanks dan ' issy

  • I guess if others had the same problem... but thank you, thank you for having informed me about it: without you I wouldn't have know anything about it!

And, thank you for your kind words, Issy! :-)

    Dan

  • youre welcome my friend 'issy

  • BRAVO BRAVO!!! What a production! I was transported into that tavern while you sang your ditty. What an imagination you have. This was truly a treat to watch, now it's time for a pint of Ale, mateys!

  • Part 1.

    Your enthusiasm is fantastic, Lisa!

Glad you were transported there... and not in the cave: that water dripping all around and that ghost roaming with bad intentions seem not good! ;-D

I'm grateful to you 'coz you mention the production: because this movie has been a challenge from any point of view: planning, directing, acting, sounds and video editing, original music composing... ^_^

  • Part 2.

Haha, my imagination: I'd say I've been training it through my whole life... glad to know you like what I got out from it!

Oh, ok, let's go for that pint of Ale, mateys... while Dan begins to plan something, about that tavern... and about that cave!

    [Hint! Hint! Hint!]

    ;-DDD

Thank you for your amazing words: it's such a honour, from an amazingly creative and talented person like you!!! :-)

  • bravo , now wheres my dam flowers so i have something to through onto the stage

  • Oh, it doesn't matter if you have not them, right now... your intention is so kind that it seems to me to see thhose flowers thrown on the stage!

Thank you! Thank you for stopping by and enjoying this little work of mine!

    *bowing in sign of respect*

    :-)

  • We very much love it. Great Daniele you are fantastic

Have a good Sunday and love from us all

    x

  • You all are too kind, great CDmagz stuff!

Have a beautiful Sunday as well! ^_^

  • very good job at this Dan,once again!

  • And me I want to thank you again, for both watching and so kindly commenting! :-D

  • Excellent Job! again! (I had to come back later to watch this second part) you do so well in all areas the use of sound to create illusion of dinner party etc is brilliant Bravo 5*

  • Thank you so much for having come back to watch even this one... and for being so great to notice the care I've put in create those virtual soundscapes: they really set the atmosphere... considering that when I recorded my vocal performance I was alone at home! ^_^

    Thank you so much! :-D

  • People, watch it in stereo, it makes the difference!

  • Thank you very, very, *very* much!

I've written it even in the description... hopily they'll do it!

Thank you so much, my friend! ^_^

  • highly enjoyable! very creative

  • Thank you very much, Spencer, your support is always great!

    Glad you enjoy it! :-D

  • Enjoyed this one also*****`S

    Thank you EmC for sending.

  • Thank you, for having watched and enjoyed both the episodes... and for letting me know it! :-)

Thanks to EmC as well, by the way: that man rocks! ^_^

  • Awesome.

  • Thank you so much, Myah, for watching, enjoying and letting me know it! ^_^

  • Daniele!!! Bravo! Bravo! So much work you've put into this! And its paid off - as you again manage to transform me back to that time. Love all the background sound effects, the ambient sounds, just great all around!

  • Grazie, grazie, grazie, Pam! :-DDD

Yes, it's been a lot of effort... the most of it just for to set-up all those sound effects: the clock tik-tok that sometimes is in front of the audience, sometimes is on the left (when the singer is singing)... and going on like this!.

But I'm satisfied with the result!

Thank you for your faithful attention! ^_^

  • Nice touch with the anchor tat! :)

  • Hehe! In the forecoming "making of" I'll reveal how I did it! ;-)

  • I love the song!! And you have a nice voice!!

  • Thank you very much: haha, when I wrote the song, back in the summer of 2004, in front of the sea, I couldn't foresee that it would have turned out in a short-movie!

It's the unpredictableness of life! ^_^

About my voice... thank you, you're very kind!

Who knows, maybe this is not the last time we enter in that tavern for to listen to a sea song!

    ;-)

  • very nice job =)

  • Thank you very much, Miry! :-)

  • How talented you must be!The amount of work that`s gone into these videos is incredible! 10/10.Hugs to you and to EmC for sharing them.Jan and Susan.x

  • Thank you so much, Jan and Susan!

Oh, in YouTube there are persons even more talented than me...

I've just learnt, from Life, a big amount of patience... enough even for to make this video, little step after little step! ;-)

    ^_^

You're very kind... and yes, EmC is very kind as well! :-D

    Hugs

    Daniele

  • WOW! Well done Daniele, You really went all out on these! I loved the editing and music too! Well done!!!

  • Definitely, I spent a lot of energy on these ones... but it's been worthy of the effort, I think! :-D

I'm glad that you've pointed out the editing and the music, by the way! ^_^

Thank you so much for your great support, man!

  • wow Daniele beautiful work...wow you have great cinematography skills. I loved it... great stuff!

  • Thank you so much, Kate, for your great enthusiasm! :-D

Haha, think, before doing this I never knew I could do it!

Sometimes to simply try is the best thing to do! ^_^

Don't miss the first part, by the way, where it's shown what's all about... who Captain Rich was! ^_^

    Thank youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu! :-D

  • Congratulations again for this second and even more musically part !!! I listened it with audio through my hi-fi and it's really worth. Nor less important is the visual part of course ... very well planned and DONE ! ^_^

    Never stop !

  • Let me thank you once more for your great support, my friend! :-D I'm glad that you enjoyed so much the audio, because it's maybe been the hardest/longest part to make! ^_^ Thank you so much! Me? To stop? Nevere! MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! *a giant hammer falls etc, etc, etc...* xD Hahaha! P.S. My mind is already working on something new... :-DDDDDDDDDDDD

  • And a legend is born...

Nice job man. The use of the tavern singer helped give the feeling of a passage of time from the first one, and helped give each character their own identity, even though their faces were hidden.

Great job with the score. :D

  • :-D

Thank you so much, my friend!

Exactly, the tavern singer knows their most powerful passions... and puts them in the song, for to test their reaction: sadly, they run like fools to the treasure...

Haha, it was me in both the chapters, portraying all the characters: that's why I was forced to show only the singer's face!

    ;-)

But I'm glad that the different personalities came out anyway!

    ^_^

Thank you very much for having watched and so kindly, deeply commented this little work!

    :-DDD

  • P.S.

Thank you so much about the score as well!

The theme of the traveling ship and the final walzer are something I'm quite proud of! ^_^

  • And the crowd cheers, "Daniele!!!"

Your attention to details was awesome. It's amazing how you were able to capture all the ideas you had running around in your head. I love the expression on the Captain's face as he rings the bell at the end. Troubled, Tormented.

I love the theme music at the end credits, I almost feel like the chord progression is telling the tale again with the melody of Captain Rich moving through it. All as the hourglass sands slowly fall into the history of time.

  • Part 1.

And Daniele cheers - Jerry!!! - :-DDD

    What a fantastic comment!

Let me thank you for *your* attention to the details: the final music, a symphonic rendition of the music box them, is something I'm quite proud of: yes, it's a sad memory of the time when Rich and his wife were happy... and he was alive!

Notice: the tavern singer isn't Rich! He's just... a singer! ;-) Rich is dead and his ghost is on that island, killing all the greedy men venturing for to search the treasure!

  • Part 2.

The singer is sad, while ringing the bell, 'coz all the people want to hear the parts of the song where the treasure is described... but they want to ignore all the parts where the perils (the ghost of Captain Rich) are told...

It's like if he was... trialing them, and proving their wisdom. But they lose themselves, after that treasure.

Hm. I could even decide to take care of that ghost's destiny, one of these days! ;-)

Thank you sooooooooo much, man! :-DDD

  • P.S.

I officially hate the 10 minutes limits of the YT videos!

To literally stuff 1000 ideas in 10 minutes was a true pain! xD

But it's been worthy of everything, I think!

    ^_^

  • You are really living me in to this! Few people can do that! incredible work

  • You are incredibly kind, my friend!

Oh, I think many could even make better: it just takes the patience for to go on through the work needed for a huge idea like this!

And, for sure... I got an enormous of patience! :-D

    Thank you so much!

    Have a fantastic day! ^_^

  • You probably gotten patience through origami^^

Hope you make more of these videos, they are great=D

  • You don't even imagine how much these words of yours reward me: you're one of the few that, even if passionate for origami, are still able to try my videos and get interested by them, whatever the kind of video is, origami or not!

I really hope to have more ideas for this kind of short-movies... hehe, I just had one!

    ;-D

  • haha:D

It says that patience is the key ingredient in origami:P

Thats probably why you are so good at it=) and other things of course, like the videos you make, you bring joy and entertainment to the people on youtube, including me! Your videos catches my eye and my interest, and thats why I'm so glad to write comments to you in my favorite language to my favorite user on youtube:)

  • P.S.

Hmmm, no I learnt patience before, since the first days of my life, because of my physical handicap...

By the way, I needed a lot of it, while trying origami for the first time!

    Haha! xD ;-)

  • And you've done it again as well: to watch even this chapter and to leave me a comment full of enthusiasm! :-D

    Thank you so much! ^_^

  • Good Morning Mr. Fellini of Parco della Chiusa!

  • Good morning to you in return, precious documentaries maker of Santa Clara! :-D

Thank you for stopping by, Vatsek!

If you haven't yet, feel free to check out the Chapter I of this movie: it's where it's explained what's all about! ;-)

  • You look like you are having fun :) I like boats

  • I definitely had fun! I like boats and ships and knots and maps and a lot of other things too! ^_^

If you haven't yet, be sure to check out Chapter I of this movie: it shows what's all about! ;-)

    Thank you *so much*! :-D

  • This is so great! It looks really professional :)

    xo

    Kat

  • Thank you so much, Kat!

That "professional" makes me smile with all of teeth in my mouth! :-DDD

By the way, if you haven't yet, be sure to check out the first chapter of this movie: it's the video I've responded to with this one... and well, it shows what's all about!

    ;-)

  • VERY NICE MY FRIEND! *****

  • Thank you so much: for watching, enjoying, rating, commenting... and for the friend invite as well! ^_^

  • Very nice indeed, I would not be surprised that you will be making the next video from Hollywood. It was very nich. 5*

  • Glad you liked it, Em!

Well, I would love to score music for movies... but, even if it wasn't for Hollywood, I still had a lot of fun! :-D

And if you all are having a bit of the fun I had... it's been worthy of all the work!

Thank you so much for your amazing support!

In the next weeks I'll post the two episodes of the "making of"... I won't be so regular, though: I'm still working on them... and I have to admit that after this fatigue I've enough a bit of all the video-making! Haha! xD

  • Grosse Klasse !!! You are the reincarnation of Robert Stevenson. Danke schoen - Mille Grazie, Daniele. 10 ************ Onkel Pete

  • Thank *you* so much, Pete!

What a nice thing you have written! ^_^

And thank you for the rating!

    Cheers

    Daniele

  • did I heard the word collaboration Daniele Bergamini? Hope you will send in a global kisses collaboration video lol

We think you are a super friend and we love you. Super fabulous video and you are one of a kind: the best one!

    CDmagz

  • The problem with me is that when it comes to sending kisses I become ultra-mega-super shy!

But I will seriously and deeply think about it, for to see if I find a way to make it while winning my shyness.

In the meanwhile, my prayers are granted.

    Thank you for stopping by!

  • P.S.

This *could* be a collaboration... but it wasn't!

Haha, sometimes my ideas are so huge that people get scared! xD

  • I love the song:-D It's awesome!! I mean the music and the way you sing it, so amazing...

We should learn a lesson from this, people are always looking for gold and treasures, but people's greed will only lead to misery...

Now I understand, it took you so much time to make this movie... The plot, the filming and editing must have taken lot of time!

    Great result though:-)

    5*

  • Thank you *so much*, Nasreen!

For having watched/appreciated even this one in all of its aspects... for having got the message!

Of course, the concept can be extended to anything material we can think about: some people are maniac for dresses, some for cars, some for houses... we could endlessly go on! All material things can lead people to lose their souls!

Glad you liked that bearded man singing with so much passion: who knows, maybe this isn't the last time we enter in that tavern... ;-D

  • very gifted you are. 5*

  • And you are very kind!

    Danke schön! ^_^

  • welcome. it was a lot of work.

  • Oh, definitely!

But I'm tatally satisfied with the result... and this is what matters the most! ^_^

  • ooh first. great video daniele.

cant wait for the nextone :D

when are you going to do more origami

    Biscuit

  • Oh, in effects this is the end of the story, Biscuit!

That gold should be forgotten where it is, but men's greed is too strong...

More origami? Oh, they will come: but I want to give to this movie the space it deserves, for a while: after all, it took me two months of work, from the filming, to the special effects, to the composition of the music! ^_^
