Any special interest group gets ads targeted at them. The NRA for example targets their audience with an appeal to what matters to them in language likely to result in action that the NRA would like - namely supporting candidates with good "gun rights" records.

This does the same thing and recognizes that Spanish is a language that is more likely to resonate with its audience - the Hispanic vote in California.

Aside from the fact that one member of the Phoenix Police Department called the law racist and targeting of Latinos, I found no mention of race in the ad.

Now, if you think the use of Spanish is racist ... well, I'd have to point out that "Spanish" is not a race - people who speak Spanish vary across all races.

The next question I have is, if Ms. Fiorina is targeting people by use of Spanish ("amigos de Carly - US Senate" at 0:12), why is it bad to also use Spanish in a response?
