I think you are confusing what I have shown in this video with something else, because the hovel is "required" for aliens to get access, and naturally humans cannot use the hovel to gain access to this area and therefore could NEVER build an RC in there.

Normally a secret room in a game is something the map maker put in purposely but that has some trick to get in to. I would agree this just looks like a glitch, since it just looks like something they didn't realize would happen.

That's and interesting perspective. Qualitatively how would you differentiate between an area that has been accessed by glitching and a 'secret area'? My opinion is that there is no qualitative difference. I suppose you could take the perspective of 'intention' of the creator however it would be a tenuous and unstable position.

differentiate? a secret area is an area well hidden that can be accessible by both team. This "area" is only be accessed by aliens and as a result, building inside that room are indestructible by humans.

It's an interesting definition however it is in my view incomplete as why should the criteria for a 'secret area' be constrained by the binding term of 'accessibility to both teams'. It's too arbitrary a term and certainly isn't consistent across different games and genres, which indicates that it's an incomplete definition.

this is not incomplete. if you hide in this part of the map, humans will never kill you. Talking about definitions is useless. This is tremulous, not another game. This is complete 100% definition for this game. This is CHEATING and the 99,9% of the players consider a glitch = cheat.

It is in my view an incomplete definition and I don't see anything about such a limited definition which makes it uniquely applicable to Tremulous. Further more, this was a friendly discussion limited to the concept of what does or does not constitutes a 'secret area'.

Like I said before, focus on a more comprehensive definition and re-submit that, otherwise it's fairly clear your viewpoint is not holding enough weight.

Well i discovered some glitches in this game too. look at my video on how to glitch with humans and build 'non-solid- buildings that wont take damage when you shoot them either!

u attack the empty space above then, works with almost any nonsolid building...but this, hehe, is under the 'playable map' and therefore anything built under there will stay built unless deconned...

There are plenty of servers out there this this works on, however some have been patched against it using a well known backport.

All you have to do is jump then press what ever your 'place' key/button is to place the hovel.

By moving back a little, THEN jumping, you can build closer to the wall than would normally be possible, and hence that is the reason the bug works.

Yes, he does have a reputation as a prolific deconner. I would suggest waiting until trem v1.2 where a solution to this type of deconner has already been implemented.

The only way is to get back in the hovel is from the inside of the secret area and then when back in the hovel press the 'decon' key. This will decon the hovel and you will be back out. It's worth noting that some servers don't allow you to decon the hovel while in it.
