It's overrated BECAUSE it's overwhelmingly famous and has a cult following it. There's really nothing in it that's deserving of so much fame, IMO. Reading a lot doesn't make you a reliable analytical critic; and I have read all of the books and was a fan for several years, so my opinions aren't really just judgments.
I can assure you that those lines most certainly were NOT in the book. :/ Someone else (whoever wrote the movie script) came up with those lines. But it's a good thought, I never pictured it that way. ^_^

Pretty much every picture of every famous female figure (outside of politics, perhaps) is airbrushed or digitally altered in some way or another. I personally think it's sad. Twilight is a horrible novel. Though she is being fancied as the new J.K. Rowling, Meyer's Twilight series isn't nearly as well written with in-depth stories like Rowlings series. The Twilight is absurd and ridiculous.

Harry Potter is merely, maybe, the first ever children's books that is as long as a novel. While Twilight is for young adults. You can't compare the two. More of contrastsare seen. They're totally different in so many ways. But both are great books. Both of them are my favorite authors. And besides, both of them are not even in competition. So lay down on those negative comments about them. I mean seriously, just quit it. It's just sick.

youve read twilight but your oppinion lacks any valid evidence to support it. the american population has nothing to do with it. bella is the most well developed character in the series, infact its EDWARD whose reasons for LOVING{not INFATUATING} over bella arent as well described. also, love usually doesnt have REASON behind it. by the way, have u read through all four books or r u just basing ur oppinion{and hate} on the first one.

HOWEVER, some novels/stories have a certain magic to them, their CONTENT speaks to us at a very personal/emotional level. and THAT is what makes them the worlwide phenomenon that they are, because people can RELATE. it was the same with c.s lewis and narnia, same with enid blyton, the same with r.l stine, the same with jrr tolkien, the same with roal dahl, the same with j.k rowling, the same with jane austen and so on and so forth.

I've read Twilight. It sucks. Hard. It's also a poor representation of the American population. Namely teenage girls. Bella has a shocking lack of substance and her infatuation is never explained beyond a child girl having a crush on their favorite actor.
Also the movie was so bad, it was actually funny.

leonheartmm: that's rather the point. You may think Twilight is amazing, but most of the critics had pretty mixed feelings (and no, the blurbs on the cover do not count as reviews). It's overrated BECAUSE it's overwhelmingly famous and has a cult following it. There's really nothing in it that's deserving of so much fame, IMO. Reading a lot doesn't make you a reliable analytical critic; and I have read all of the books and was a fan for several years, so my opinions aren't really just judgments.

I can assure you that those lines most certainly were NOT in the book. :/ Someone else (whoever wrote the movie script) came up with those lines. But it's a good thought, I never pictured it that way. ^_^

It doesn't take a great deal of time to gain some weight. ^^; That, or her picture on the book was photoshopped. It's not hard to believe. Pretty much every picture of every famous female figure (outside of politics, perhaps) is airbrushed or digitally altered in some way or another. I personally think it's sad. That's a lot of the reason young girls hold themselves to ridiculously high physical standards. But that's another subject in itself. xD

Please tell me you didn't just put Stephen King and Jane Ausen in the same category. He wrote over half his books while on drugs (those are his words) and if it wasn't for Carrie he most likely be a rarely published or unpublished hack.

Twilight is a horrible novel. Though she is being fancied as the new J.K. Rowling, Meyer's Twilight series isn't nearly as well written with in-depth stories like Rowlings series. The Twilight is absurd and ridiculous.
