these passages are from page #17 of The Companions of Jehu written by Alexandre Dumas pere--"Sir, I have heard speak of the Companions of Jesus," replied the magistrate with his jeering smile. "The Jesuits, you mean? That is not what I am seeking, sir."....Elisha consecrated Jehu King of Israel, on condition that he exterminate the house of Ahab; Elisha was Louis XVIII; Jehu was Cadoudal; the house of Ahab, the Revolution.
RIP David , you were an inspiration to many young and old musicians, sadly ,so was your drinking, may you find the peace you searched for and play with all the greats like you ,in Heaven...forever your fan !
I HAVE ALL THE URIAH HEEP LP VINIL DISCS. THE VOICE OF DAVID BYRON IS THE BEST FROM THE GROUP HISTORY. MR DAVID WAS A REAL FRONT MAN, A LEADER. LISTEN THE MR. BERNIE SHAW, NO COMPARES WITH DAVID VOICES
I saw Uriah Heep in 75 , Return To Fantacy. David would throw his mike stand in the air and catch it with one hand. He was the best front man,I have never seen another lead singer come close to him. The down side was people trying to climb on the stage David would kick them in the head with these platform shoes he had on and girls trying to touch him he would hold their hand and take their rings off fingers. Uriah Heep is the best band, Byron best singer and Ken Hensley best songwriter!
@hdrake1000 That is whacked . I love the guy . He is a drunk motherfucker ( which is why he got fired )
Yeah...he is some rich stupid motherfucker kicking my ( perhaps ) stupid ( perhaps ) pregnant girlfriend ...crushdownndess is gonna ensue one way or another .
Uriah Heep managed on without him to be a Robust
Excellent Band whom I saw in Golden Colorado in 96
It's taken awhile, but I've finally come to the conclusion that DB was a great singer. He could sing the rockers and ballads with equal expertise. Wish he was still around. RIP David.
Out of time, out of place. Something that found a place into eternity and it's gonna last as long as the world exists, the same as the complete Uriah Heep work with David. This song arouses unbelievable good emotions inside me.
This song is EPIC...Hell, I' ll say it..this song is as good if not better than a lot of Heep material..it sure does sound like Heep xcept for the massive Mellotron dominating the chorus .
The build up and ending are a bit over the top..but that' s what we want ..and expect !
What an atmosphere..it's a replayer..this is the second time..
Oh yeah..his 1st solo album..this has got Box and Hensley on it...
Man..this ending just tears the roof off the place !
I once sat all alone in an apartment for 3 months trying to write music. David Byron (the one and only Lord, if you ask me) was the only thing I fed myself during that time. I still, up to this day, look back on those days thinking it was the last days I considered myself free. /emo off
Favorite Heep song: The Wizard, without a doubt. One I really enjoy after all the years: Tales. Greatest 20 seconds of a Heep song: begining of the end of Magicians Birthday "love will find love". Most complex Heep composition: Return to Fantasy. Worst Byron-era Heep song: Spider Woman, hands down. Greatest Byron vocal: Rain. Peace all.
david byron is uriah heep.period. without him there is no uriah heep to start with. as the legend goes good guys always die young. he will always be the one and only vocals in my u h collection.r.i.p. david.
Response to taylor88100-- couldn't agree more about Heep vocalists. However, there would be no Uriah Heep without Ken Hensley. He was lucky to find such an excellent vocalist to make his songs great as he could never pull it off himself in spite of his many attempts. Don't forget John Wetton rocked on One Way Or Another. I wish they would would come back with Hensley and make an honest record instead of trying to compete with all the metalists.
I read that people went to Heep concerts to see if they were as "bad" as citics said they were. Years ago I read the rolling stone RG review of Heep and how awful they thought they were.. slagging David Byron right off!
With this in mind I bought a second hand copy of their "best of" album at a flea market for about $5 thinking what did I have to lose? I now have almost the entire UH collection. In paticular The Byron era albums are a joy to behold! They age like fine Red wine!
I read your comment on Uriah Heep. So glad to see that someone out there appreciated them as much as you do. I too, have almost their entire collecton, minus the ones that are without David Byron, David was world best. So terribly sad still about his passing years ago and the suffering he went through. Thank you for sharing your thought.
@cind72 I remember when I was in Catholic grade school, from 5th -7th grades in 1970-73, we were allowed to bring albums in each week to listen to in art class. There were 6 of us that brought in rock LP's, we were 10-13 years old through this period. We all had and brought in, "Look At Yourself", "Demons And Wizards", Magicians Birthday" and "Sweet Freedom" LP's, at that time, and they still sound as fresh as they did almost 40 years ago. What a great time for music back then.
@cind72 I HAVE ALL THE URIAH HEEP LP VINIL DISCS. THE VOICE OF DAVID BYRON IS THE BEST FROM THE GROUP HISTORY. MR DAVID WAS A REAL FRONT MAN, A LEADER. LISTEN THE MR. BERNIE SHAW, NO COMPARES WITH DAVID VOICES. DAVID BYRON NEVER DIES!!!!!!!!!!
@cind72 Michael Tsarion is the worlds premier conspiracy researcher/lecturer/author. Dr. Bill Deagle, Leo Zagami, Jordan Maxwell and Alexandre Dumas pere are highly informative as well. p.s. Melting Euphoria is similar to Ozric Tentacles and Gong. Thank you very much for such respectful tribute to a best ever rock singer!
