  • Would You Please Post Brooklyn Bridge.

  • It was like yesterday,Brooklyn Bridge Closed The Show. 80.000+

  • @tylerpup1 ~ "Worst That Could Happen" by Brooklyn Bridge... huge hit in 1969 and still played today on classic oldies radio.

  • PUT HARRY NILSSON ON THE ONE DOLLAR BILL

  • I don't get it... Just *what* was the F did they do? Put orange feathers in theri hair and sing something for 2 seconds? Wow.

  • to Toodlem: He wasn't an elected official. John Lennon was entitled to retreat into his personal life to work on home and family with the woman he so loved. That's the problem folks, everyone wanted a piece of him -- until the end. He didn't "hook up", for God's sake he was her husband.

  • i saw a coumentary about Nilssen,, and I think it was his mother ( or another significant woman in his life) that Harry was never the same after he started hanging out with John Lennon, she said he lost something..she said tht she was sad about that.

  • I never knew John supported people with disabilities!!! This is truly amazing to see; I have a disability myself, (cerebral palsy) and am a huge Beatles/John fan!! It shows what a great, inspiring, and caring person he was. Thanks Johnny!!!

  • mightve been good if u could actually hear a dam word anyones saying, that disabled girl must feel honoured now as a woman

  • John wasted his years in New York...this was the best he did while living there.....New York was was non inspiring and only conducive in creating what you see in this video...chaotic nonsense..............and his death.

  • Was this during John's 'Lost Weekend'? If Harry Nilsson was there I'm guessing yes!!

  • @ritasid It's not his Lost Weekend. He knows where he is in this video. He's in Central Park.

  • I never knew this video existed. . .WOW. John helping kids with disabilities - that brought tears to my eyes since I'm a special ed teacher. Some 'Lost Weekend' - he cared about people SO much. His clowning around was precious. He let himself come through most of the time, and that's why I love him so. We all have flaws. He is so very missed. Your fan forever . . .

  • John is looking beyond fantastic in this clip, not like the boozer he was made out to be ..

  • @patrick45sue He was only in his 30s when he got clean & sober. Livers' are a large organ & can take a lot of abuse, he looked healthy for the rest of his life.

  • @1caninelover Hello my comment is saying that he was not pissed 24 hours a day 7 days a weeks, alot of books, etc, have made this to be a fact, his lost weekend stage was very productive time in his life ..

  • @patrick45sue I did not know him nor did you, he was quite forthcoming about his problems with ETOH et al drugs & as neither you nor I knew him I base it upon that. You make it sound as if you were actually aware of his 'drinks per day.' People who think they have an actual, personal connection to celebrities as you seem to is just weird.

  • @1caninelover You seem to have blown this out of the water. my info as I said is based on many books that were written about him, I have not said he was a drinker if you read what I said correctly"as he was made out to be", NOT my words !!! I respect John for the man he was, not what others write or say !!! you seem to have a problem reading what is a simple comment.I am from a Country where guns are not an issue, so I assure you I am not into shooting, nor harming celebrities, as you say fool.

  • @patrick45sue A little touchy are we? I don't recall me stating you were a crazed gun-toting fan however your pithy reply does make me think you're a bit paranoid...

  • @1caninelover did'nt you ever read the book by fred seaman, his personal assistant who lived with him at the dakota practically he was there 24/7 the last couple of years and claims john was doing heroin non stop addicted so he couldnt have been that healthy, look at the last few pictures taken of him hed lost a lot of weight !

  • @mrjasondylan Never read it and I stand corrected in that he had periods of being clean & sober, not necessary continuous. Nothing really stands out here as Heroin is not known for excess weight loss, he was naturally thin & only in his 30s. As relapses are common with addiction his youth and islolation could have been using daily. I don't know why some fans get irate about that possibility.Like us all he was human and addiction is a rough medical condition. Doesn't make him 'less than.''

  • 1'20 "I'm Walkin'" by Fats Domino! hahah

  • im suprised lennon doesnt go off on a feminist rant

  • AWESOME to see<3

  • This is the reason i love YOUTUBE!....Thanks for uploading!

  • Cool never seen before!!!!!!!!!!

  • well sed rubhersoul. ive just watched a bbc docu about nilsson. ringo was his best man at his wedding. john lennon was like his brother. love nilsson. the guy was a genius. nice one fred. love this post. mike, liverpool.

  • god he looks great here! i would have died if i was in that crowd.

  • Captures the spirit quite well.....

  • Crazy about Harry!! Underated totally.

  • This appearance proved that 'Beatlemania' would never die.

  • green screen?

  • Fantastic video! Wow, I don't recall ever getting anyone close to a "John Lennon" for March of Dimes events here in Las Vegas! I wish! :-)

  • Harry Nilsson and John Lennon, we'll never forget you! RIP!

Thank you so much FredNJ for sharing this!

  • No one had the balls to hand him a guitar ..I bet hje would have played something...

  • fantastic footage

  • wow, what a cool pair Lennon and Nilsson, I was just 2 weeks old when this was shot.

  • @montsrubi hehe

    i was 11 days old!

  • what is the motto of this ocasion?

  • Amazingly rare footage.

  • John just makes everyone crazy. I wish Mark David Chapman was never born, so I would at least have a chance of meeting him someday.

  • I like how they all said Beatlemania kind of calmed down after they stopped touring. One Beatles sends the crowd loopy. It's hilarious, but John doesn't look like it's even fazed him. Amazing what years and years of fame can make normal.

  • 7 months before I was born

  • "The Dance"... John must've felt really awkward to've pulled it out again. He usually pulled out the spastic moves when he felt overwhelmed by folks adulating him. I admire the way he handled his insecurities...

  • @adamhammack true but if you knew John you would know it was quite a bit more into it than that. he was sharp and straight forward as a razorblade, making "intellectual" jokes that most peolpe missed or misunderstood

  • that famous dance..haha!

  • 1974 was the year when the Beatles came closest to a reunion. But it didn't happen because Lennon couldn't leave the U.S. because he wouldn't get back in again and the other three weren't prepared to up sticks to live in America just to become Beatles. All thanks to Criminal Nixon and his gang of thugs.....

  • who is the girl lennon is carying?

  • @seqouiaflame Julia Roberts

  • @64fairlane305 Really?

  • What a thrill to see these two together on stage. I would have loved to have been there.

Let's hope they're both in a better place now !

  • I have to be honest here. I think i was about 12-14 yrs old and my pops was driving me to our baseball game and this song was on the radio, "one is the lonliest number..." Ok so, I'm only 30, but that goddamn song has stuck with me since. I'm a doc nut and just watched, "Whos is Harry Nilsson?" If anyone cares about real music(cat stevens to zeppelin) you'll watch this motherfuckin doc. Thanx Harry

  • He's saying Paul in is NYC? Was this during the time that Paul visited John?

  • John sure loved New York and it's people....god speed J.W.L wherever your soul flies......

    JBirdy

  • true showman!

  • People are screaming if it's Beatlemania here, and can't shut up.

  • is that phil spector hauling lennon offstage at 1:45-1:50, by any chance?

  • @shotdonkey ... I believe that's Elliot Mintz. He caught my eye right off.

  • i was 11 days old

  • @evangelo66 I was only slightly over a month old. LOL

  • thank you ! to see John in this period ! it's really rare!

  • This is great seeing John at his best. I saw him a few months later at MSG at an Elton John concert. Still my fave Working Class Hero. LONG LIVE!!!!

  • woaw a time where the great were alive !

  • All we need is love!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seeing this just made my day - two of my favorite musicians!

  • Love it!

  • Thank you Fred & Ralph! This is precious stuff, and I for one, appreciate that you've shared for FREE with us!

  • Yea, ok, riiight, sure...

more like we'll never see the likes of HL again... it's even got a better ring to it.

R.I.P JL + HL (may your lost weekends in heaven never have nasty hangovers)

    PUSSY CATS 2: COMING SOON

  • thank you !!!!!

  • Incredible creditable

  • That was pandefuckinmonium. Great to see again.

  • He was out and about, accessible, and active. That is until he hooked up again with Yicko OhNo and fell off the face of the planet for 5 years.

I'd read about this event, but had never seen nor even hoped to see footage. Thanks for sharing.

  • @Toodlem Yeah, and he drank to death during his separation with Yoko.

  • Great video. What year was it made? Where in Central Park was this made?

  • Very chaotic scene, but John keeps his cool and handles it great. I love how he never gets pissed when people asked him Beatles questions.

  • Wow.... what madness.... it's almost sad. The announcer seems to be trying to keep things calm, to no avail... nobody really heard what John or Harry were trying to say - there were too many people crawling all over the stage, the sound system sucked, the audience is pretty much "Harry who?" - it's just CRAZY..... but bottom line is John was there for the March Of Dimes, at least he wasn't being a recluse... he did something nice. The world was a better place with him in it. I sure miss him.

  • @jzerony Well put.

  • when i think it was at the same place 6 years later they were his tribute after his assasination...

  • never seen this beore... thanks for the upload this is great!

  • Wow, what a musical team. Thanks!

  • i was born 11 days before this

  • I wish I coulda been held by a legend like John

  • wonderful to see John

  • What were they singing at 1:31?

  • @KellyJMusician : Sounds like Fats Domino's "I'm Walkin' "

  • I love how people just hand him their children. Fantastic footage!

  • this is the best video I've seen all day...thanks!!!

  • fabfourfacts brought me here!

  • WOW!!1this is just awesome, standing a few meter away from john...did you talk to him??

  • 2:50 almost fell over..watching him do "the dance" again.

    thanks!

  • I miss him terribly, John was a wonderful person, we lost a legend............... on the optimistic side, we're lucky to have enjoyed him when we had him,, rest in peace... God loves John Lennon

  • I think is is the event John came to at the request New York radio DJ Cousin Brucie Morrow.John said he would come but he did not want to perform.

  • Incredible document, thanks. Not sure what Lennon says here that is worth noting--someone tell me? I'm very curious.

  • Fantastic! I'm sure Yoko would have loved to put this footage in Imagine! I am so happy this is posted!

  • I never thought I would see a video of this event! My friends and I were right in the front. It brought back a flood of memories! Thank you so much for sharing!

  • One of my friends is in the front row when John arrives!!

  • Lucky person.

  • Nice. Any rare footage of John Lennon is important to have at the publics disposal simply because he was already a legend before he died. And now 30 (gasp) years later after his demise, it is a window for those who were not around then to see what the commotion was all about. We'll never see the likes of JL ever again if we live to be a hundred years old. The last of the truly iconic figures of the 20th century that didn't live to see the 21st.

  • @RubHerSoul1 i would love to get some video footage of john rehearshing at the piano or of nicky hopkins.

  • Amazing!

    Danny

  • Great Video
