  • Is it only me or is he saying 'Handjob' ?

  • I've grown to like this album a lot, but I can do without the goofy left-wing politics in some of the songs. (Put out The Fire, I'm lookin' at you...)

  • Hey come on DJ FREDDY (((((((((((

  • HOT SPACE!!! LETS GO! ^.^

  • Now, almost 30 yrs later to the date, I 'get' this album - Great track

  • the sound of the synth is very similar to Axel F... I think. Not the melody, the sound. If this song had appeared in Beverly Hills Cop while showing Eddie Murphy driving his car at night going to a party, it would've been a huge success.

  • Why doesn't anyone like this album? I think it's one of Queen's best!!

  • hot space is a great album

  • Is 'Hot Space' Queen's best album? Not by a longshot.

Is it criminally underrated? Yes it is.

  • Doctor Queen and mister fantastic!

  • @Jev414 MJ is quoted as saying this album inspired Thriller. Keep up !

  • sounds good

  • One of my favorite Queen albums, should have been given more credit.

  • @chronicreptile HOT SPACE

  • What's more epic on this album cover? Freddies stache, or Brians fro?

  • I fuckin like it!

  • @PartyMuminek ... I fuckin' LOVE it!

  • @wehatemagz

    yeah, yeah ;)

    BIG LOVE

  • QUest'album è un fail a tutti gli effetti D:

  • hey bring on the funk and dance the night away

  • 3 people don't like the word 'funk-tion'

  • Queen fans are usually the best type of fan :)

  • This is probably the best of their dance/funk songs, for what that's worth, if only because it maintains a foot in the rock camp. Imagine if Dancer was recorded with rock instruments in the style of, say, Fight From The Inside. It would have absolutely thundered.

  • DISCO!!

  • For some reason I just love this song, it's my jam <3

  • queen funk rules the world

  • please telll me why this album sold less then alll other queen albums!!!

  • @rogleach Cause people don't like how they changed style from Rock to kind of disco.

I think this album is even better than others.

  • Freddie and the lads never fail to amaze me with the stuff they come up with! Is it any wonder Queen are rated as one of the best bands in the world... EVER!! This track batters and bounces its way along in typical Queen fashion. Name me ONE band as diverse and as musically inventive as Queen? No? Thought not!! .... Fekkin love 'em!

  • Freddie jest Bogiem muzyki!!!

  • Billy Squier-The Stroke. Cannot be unheard

  • some people told me Hot Space was a "bad" Queen album...bullshit,this album f**kin' rocks !!!

  • The reason it makes more sense....... If you ever danced all night and then just wanted to dance the next day, then it would make sense to be woken in the evening ! Therefore it "says" something !

If you have to be woken in the morning, well that wouldn't mean anything ! Anybody might want to be woken in the morning for any reason! It's not poetic or comical and doesn't say anything !!!

  • It's therefore quite funny to say "good evening would you like to be woken".

The alternative wouldn't be funny at all! And Freddie did have a sense of humour.

Such things are not put into recordings without some significance.......

Does this answer your question ?

    xxx

  • This album was awesome

  • it's the little things that really get me... just the way he says "ain't no doubt about it" @ 1:29

  • Brian May is a genius when it comes to solos and guitar in general.

  • Badass song. Queen were amazing. The could get down in a number of different music styles.

  • The solo is really amazing!

  • DANCE!!! DANCE!!! DELICIOUS!!!

  • @GOANTHEMSGO YEAH!!! :)

  • @Joshuaovfitzy I think Mj has sold more than twice what Queen have although I am a big Queen fan. I love hot space very underrated.

  • What evidence is there to support the claim that Hot Space had any influence on Michael Jackson??? The fact that Hot Space was released six months prior to Thriller does not establish a CAUSAL link. Besides, Jackson started recording Thriller BEFORE Hot Space was released. Also, Jackson was making dance music long before Queen did.

I'm a huge Queen fan, but I refuse to engage in historical revisionism to defend an album that bombed commercially.

  • @duhg "Michael Jackson, who was close friends with the band during the time, later cited Hot Space as a building block for his own blockbuster album Thriller."--Wikipedia

  • Comment removed

  • @clintonearlwalker I've seen that Wikipedia entry and I'm not impressed. Notice that it has no citation or other verification. It would be great if Jackson did give such a nice compliment to Queen, but I don't see any real evidence that he did. If someone can find it, I'll tip my hat. Until then, I'm inclined to think that the idea that Michael Jackson's Thriller was influenced by Queen's Hot Space is an urban legend perpetuated by Queen fans.

  • @duhg That's a possibility, I've heard other people complain about the veracity of Wikipedia, I've used it many times for several years and never had 1 single problem. However, that is the only source I've seen combining "Thriller" and "Hot Space", of course that is only source I've looked for. My sister had "Thriller", I still have "Hot Space", I never noticed any connection. I may look and see if there is any more sources of this "urban legend", a Queen site, or a Jackson site. Cheers!!

  • I like the fact that this picture makes Brian look like a Victorian age woman.

  • Happy Birthday Freddie Mercury (September 5)

  • Queen= Classic

  • I tell you something people they were so good that every song by Queen is someone's favourite

  • Boskie!!!

  • @theawakener7 Im with u dude! I've always fuckin LOVED this solo!! i"d rewind it a hundred times while blasting it! Brian RULES!!!!

  • i think this was a Queen album that everyone hated when it came out....and everyone came to love later on.

  • Loved this album. So great to hear these songs again.

    Missing you Freddie.

  • EXCELLENT ALBUM!!!!

  • Another guy who's lovin' Quenn and Freddie

Our band had written a song for Freddie specally when he died so fast

    Visit me pls

    canoaborboletta Freddie

  • wow. i thought this was influenced by michael jackson, after i realize that this was released 5 month before thriller..

  • I don't get why some Queen fans hate this album. It's a work of art!

  • What is the telephone voice actually saying ??? Does anybody know ?

  • @witnessthisable "Guten Abend. Sïe wuenschen geweckt zu werden" - it`s German for Good evening. You want to be awakened.

  • @papatach Sounds more like "Guten Morgen, sie wünschten geweckt zu werden" - "Good morning, you wanted to be woken up."

  • @RichaySambuca I think that "good evening" makes Much more sense !

  • @witnessthisable I'm sorry, but on the one hand I'm from Germany and therefore fluent in german and on the other hand how does it make sense to make someone in the evening (unless you have a very bad jet lag and with Queen coming from the UK, they shouldn't have such a jet lag in Germany)...

  • Specially to listen drunk...

  • The girl is too big...to dance! LOL

  • queen funky outer space hot stuff

  • Coolest band ever!

  • Ha! I remember this song.

Can't live with it, I'm gonna die without it.

  • I know that most ppl said that hot space is not that good, but its actually one of my favourite album! I guess i love heavy sound of bass and the funky feeling....

  • @kamubegoakujuga

Indeed some great stuff! Everytime when I ride my bike to work , I listen to some Hot Space! Get me totaly in the mood... ;D

  • queen rulz !!!

  • i like onionz

  • Brian may is a cutie i love this song Freddie and Brian out did them selves

  • FUCK WITH MGAY, SHE SUCKS.

    HIP HIP, FREDDIE.

    HIP HIP, ROGER.

    HIP HIP, DEACON.

    HIP HIP, BRIAN.

    zr2.

  • This song is the definetion of FUNKY!

  • Definitely sounds like an MJ song... I'm not sure who inspired who?

But given their friendship, its not suprising!

    LOVE THIS SONG!

But it is hard to grasp, the king of pop and the god of rock... Both in heaven entertaining god!

You know what they say, Freddie was a gift from the gods, but they wanted him back!

  • great song

  • This album belongs not to my favorits but this Song has a good beat!

  • If this was a michael jackson song, it would be played constantly on the radio and be incredibly popular now. Its a good song, not one of my favourites. Probrably the most funky queen songs and it was a very brave transition which i believed worked.

  • This song makes me wanna strip down and boogie wearing a cheeky smile!

  • ladies and gentleman I give you the album that inspired Thriller

  • In fact this song really makes me think about Billie Jean... Did you know that Freddie was initially gonna be on Thriller ?

  • @imputanium ... Thankyou!! Its what I've always said about 'Thriller'. Michael Jackson and Queen met up for a while and can you imagine how much material Jackson had access to??

  • @imputanium you said it right. MJ even copied Freddie's "one glove" look!

  • @imputanium Good album this, its because Freddie was in his New York clubing fase thats why its got a disco flavour BUT god knows how U got all these thumbs up about this inspiring THRILLER you know maybe the song BEAT IT!! cuz of the Rock & Disco fushion but not the album!! Micheal Jackson had been doing Disco for years ps it was Freddie Murcury who totaly loved the JACKSONS so its the other way round!!

  • @handsomedevil98 it was Michael Jackson who said this album inspired Thriller, his words.

  • @TheJumpyPopcorn Yeah! I did a follow up after this comment & yeah your right, it did inspire Thriller

  • @imputanium Queen fans will try to take credit for anything.

  • @imputanium

sorry if my answer is in spanish: Tu tienes razon acerca de ello, viva lo mejor de lo mejor!!!!!

  • if you like funk

    this album is great

  • Few rock bands had guts to make this kind of transformation, and successfully get back to the roots. This album is truly very underrated, its only "fault" is that it encourages better genre-tolerance that is so lost in today's music.

    Hot Space Let's Go!

  • I love this song..one of my faves from Queen!

  • This song makes me want to bust moves!

  • the probleme is not the album is the fact that queen was a heavy rock glam band and this was a big change of style but if queen was a funky band maybe this album cut be so good was trhiller!!!

  • Besides Under Pressure, this is my favorite song off of Hot Space.

  • damn i love this song nice beat!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 1-2,1-2 and this synth bass! "Cooool!"

  • this album is underrated

  • @colemann76

    I totaly agree with u!

  • @hippy00hater thank you

  • @colemann76

    No problemo ;D

  • @colemann76 Yes! You are correct sir! And thats a nice jestir.

  • @stsancho I know, this album is great, calling all girls is my all time favorite Queen song.

  • Top work from Brian May... astonishing solo.

  • Hot Space ftw

  • Queen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • Man, songs from Hot Space come across as rubbish at first but then... you sort of get over their audacity, and slip into the groove! Although there are still a few cornball moments that are murder on the sensibilities...

  • Oh ya i no fuck like when i first heard the 1st 4 songs they all strt all like techno like but hav awesome solos!!!!!!!!!!! cept mayb staying power...but back chat is awesome song and body language.....put out the fire and life is real are good too!

  • so damn cool music

  • I can see a definate influence here on Michael Jackson's Thriller which came about a year later which had a similar dance/funk/rock crossover.

  • I think one day this album will eventually receive its mainstream acceptance when people realize just how big of an influence it had on Thriller.

I wonder why Deacon's missing an eye on the art.

  • People talk shit about hot space, but i think it"s a great album. It's one of my favorites,Queen proved one more time what kind of musician they were.

  • yes.! and Freddie Almost in every song sang C5 or even D5! very easy!> 1980-1982 was best for him in hitting HIGH NOTES more cleanly! music is also wonderfull and very FIRE!

  • HOT SPACE, LET'S GO!!!!

  • Questa musica è una figata unica!!! Freddie è un grande!!!

  • I love this song! i have been looking for it for months!

  • yes sa fred!

  • This song is excellent

    Freddie is on top form

    Hot Space rules.

  • Yeah dear!!!

    Hot Space Rules!!!

    I ♥ Freddie!!!

  • when i hear this song i want to start dancing:-)

  • sei grande freddyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

    sei un mitoooooooooo densssss vaiiiiiiiiiii:)

  • orgasmic solo indeed

  • MY FAVOURITE FROM THIS ALBUM!

  • back chat is definitly my favorite!!! live is soooo awesome!!!

  • I, personally, don't know why so many Queen fans don't really like this album. In my opinion it is simply great. It's so fresh, so new, a brand new style, and it shows the huge frame of different styles of music Queen was/is able to play.

Dancer is one of my all-time favourites, and so is Las Palabras de Amor.

    Funk on, Freddie!!

  • Because compared to the 70's Hard Rock/Metal style (which people were used to), this was horrible, great for an album, horrible for a QUEEN album.

  • I think the fans' action to this album would have been different if Put out the Fire was released as the second single.

  • cooool:D

  • 1.40 hot space lets go!!!!!!!!!!

  • beeest :)

  • danceeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerrr

  • Great album!!!! Grrrrrrrreat song :0) "Hot Space" is strangely underrated but sounds too cool...and listen "Staying Power", "Dancer", "Back Chat", "Body Language", "Cool Cat"...what a groover is John!!!! :0))))))

  • Dancer, Calling all girls, Action, Under pressure...these are all great songs. Love "HOT SPACE"......especially you, Freddie!!!

  • my favorite song of queen

  • is..... so excellent grat i can t say how goood it is goood the drums are great

  • This song is so funky rocking, Queen Rocks!!!

  • aaah ich hab die platte auch :))

    is soooooo geil

hot space is das beste album (wenn man das so bei platten nennt) von Queen überhaupt

  • This is the best song on their most mediocre album until the 90s. A fantastic guitar solo (and chorus riff) and a classic rhythm: this is vintage Queen

  • I disagree, Under Pressure was by far the best song on this album

  • funky sound=))

  • Great song. It'd be fun to cover. :D

Too bad I can't play guitar like that.

  • practice :o)

  • I'd love to. Do you know where I could find the tabs for this? I always get 'dancing queen' when I google it lol

  • I Love this song !

    The best of Queen

  • nice fushion of languages here...and great guitar solo!!!

  • Queen Rocks
