  • This still gives me goose bumps all over after almost 40 years!!!!!!!!! This should be in the top 5 all time rock songs!!! LIVE ONLY....no studio versions allowed.....

  • I don't need no doctor either, just to listen to Humble Pie !!

  • who are the three idiots that clicked dislike?? this album rewrote ROCK, many bands were influenced by it, Deep Purple,, LZ, and many that followed and this song has ome of Framptons best guitar work

  • Comment removed

  • I heard Frampton do this in a corn field in Wisconsin around 1999...made the hair on my neck stand up! The great songs and great players will always take you back to those moments of revelation, and the joy of being...alive!

  • my buzz sent me here ....

  • STEVE MARRIOTT FUCKIN' ROCKS!!! NUFF SAID

  • the brother of the Chad Smith send me here!

  • all i need is my baby...

  • レイ・チャールズも吹っ飛ぶほどのマリオットの黒さ、フィルモア・ライヴの決定打、ハンブル・パイ、I Don't Need No Doctor~イカシマクルゼ!!

  • This is one of the greatest rock records out there. A True Rock Concert!

  • Now here is a band that belongs in the stinking Rock & Roll HOF! But apparently the voters have decided they won't look hip enough voting for genuine rock and roll bands like Humble Pie, Rockpile etc. Thank God Marriott at least got in the door with Small Faces.

  • saw these guys in Asbury Park NJ- it was the same tour that this recording was from (at the Filmore) and they just kicked ass all night. Marriott is long gone and Asbury Park boardwalk is a ghost town now- very sad.

  • How in the world does this band not get as much air play on the radio?

  • i was always impressed how tight these guys abs were. if you have the album, you can see for yourself. very impressive. many a stomach crunch i did, but never got there.

  • 'we go 'ome on monday.' ha,ha,ha.

yeah, i had this album when i was 14. i forgot about it, but now i am reminded!

many may not know...peter 'show me the way' frampton is part of the HP line-up.

yes, i'm taking my medicated lotion. regularly.

  • check this guys cover out! It's awesome!

    /watch?v=8lmhHUw9cik&list=FLL6-OB_lF46-JbMpP9JATyg&feature=mh_lolz

  • Marriot is incredible. No matter your favorite rock song, when this one is blasting in your ears, for a few minutes you're pretty sure this is as good as it gets. Between this and 30 Days in the Hole, quite a pair of songs by Steve Marriot.

  • I bought this album with my first weeks wages...it is one of my treasures.

Saw this lineup in Manchester in the 70´s and they tore the Free Trade Hall down.....

    Great days...

  • Hellyeah...still one of the greats...Frampton is really alive here, not mundane like these days...Marriot was a Great!

  • This is one of the very, very, select songs(In my humble opinion) that MUST be played at 11...

  • So many memories, such good music, siggghhhh, Rock on Bluesmanronchicago, you KNOW what you're talkin about ! Thanks for posting !

  • 40 years ago this was the best live album ..I had ever heard....that still stands...it is my favorite....long live Steve Marriott !

  • decades later and I still play it- just good rock is all

  • This song right here is really, really good. Great live rock and roll.

  • If I wanted music only, I'd put the LP on. Upload a video or get the album off of here.

  • One of the best frickin' rock songs ever - it must be played with the volume ALL the way up!

  • OMG RIP IT UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!! \m/!!!!!!

  • SO great to hear this again, this is a double LP, and my ma took this one and busted it I played it so much haha....ah she meant well...

Always gonna love this band!!!!!!! \m/ !

  • I haven't been born yet, and yet, I do so love this music.

Can't stand that dreadful Beiber. When I do make it our of the womb, how depressing it will be, that he is my father.

    Signing off,

    "Little B"

  • This live track is the pinacle of rock....nothing has been done better since....still gives me goose flesh after 40 years...

  • Just lost my best friend . He only had one request and that was to play this at his funeral - we did - RIP GLENN

  • @baumblue Great...go out with the highest of Rock!! Best wishes to all his friends...

  • This is a great hard rocking song from one of Englands most best. I love it!

  • How can this song be so damn good?

  • crippling.... the holiest of the holy.

  • Can anything out there today even get close to this one? Pure soul (vocals from Steve M.). Ripping-great guitar from Pete (a great guy all around). This music is King Tone! If I taught music in high school, or at the college level, I'd have my students give this one a spin on day one. Johnny Winter (Live/Alive) would be required listening too :-)!

  • @mickeymousebiker1 or johnny winter captured live

  • @zacksamis13 Definitely! I've seen Johnny Winter in the late 1960s, and again, in the late 1970s. Like Rory Gallagher, Winter is bruisin' on stage!

  • A band's worst nightmare: Having to follow Humble Pie in concert.

  • I can see why Frampton left humble pie. He was just too . . . . humble.

  • everytime i come back to this tune, it turns the clock instantly and I'm off the edge of the stage at the Fillmore jamming with Steve and Peter

  • Hey Drew you turned me on to Humple Pie . God rest your soul ..I love you and miss You friend !!!

  • Saw them in Akron Oh in 1972, they opened for Black Sabbath. This song fn rocked then and still does.

  • Saw these guys about 8 times and they got better every friggin time! This was when Frampton played guitar like a bastard and not that fluff of the 80s and 90s. Love this band. Fillmore East,Capitol Theater in Passaic....Great times! Miss Steve Marriot.Rest in peace!!!!

  • 3 people need a f'n doctor

  • This is one of the best rock live albums ever!

  • I keep sayin' "I don't need no doctor'...JUST MEDS AND MUSIC!!!

  • From Italy, very very nice!

  • thanx for sharing , Cheers

  • IN THE HIP POCKET BASS PLAYER

  • best live rock performance ever...

  • Oh (sigh), if only to be able to hear this on an LP again. Still, thanks for posting.

  • Remember & Love the Song......was Hoping to see a Video here.

  • The best album in the history of the music, the Pie will rock through the time and without planning even if the world ends.

When you listen to them you're not on the earth, you're in heaven without a stairway...

  • One of the greatest live bands of ALL times....... SM still reigns as on of the greatest... RIP... Peter Frampton kicks ass and still does today...!

  • Y'all come back now here!

  • Y'all come back now here!

  • Sure miss Steve...RIP, bro...you rocked the house, dude...

  • フィルモア・ライヴ名盤だ!~ハンブル・パイ~マリオットの声が黒く噛み付く"NO・DOCTOR"~フランプトンのギターも活き活き!~ズバリ傑作!

  • we lost a true cathedral of rock music when we lost the Fillmore East.....

  • @27wingnut Today we've replaced great places like the Fillmore with places owned by telephone companies, insurance companies and grocery corporations who could give two shits about the venue and instead only look at ways to squeeze another nickel out of the audience.

  • Great!!!

  • this brings me back to reality love you! HUMBLE PIE

  • @ kphoey Well said ,

  • Truly one of the greatest performances in rock history!

  • GOD LOVE NICK ASHFORD, AND STEVE MARIOTT Miss them both

  • ; Rest in Peace Nickolas Ashford! Thank you for the great song!

  • @tjrtherocksponge Haile Sellassie 1?

  • This entire album blows current stuff out of the water on a BALLS level.First class.

  • seeing Peter Frampton tomorrow night at ht HardRock 35 year anniversary .. first concert I saw was Frampton in the Pit in front of 21,000 in 1977.. this song was written by Ashford and Simpson ....remember them from disco days ....lol

  • Steve Marriott was the most incredible vocal performer ever!

  • How old was peter frampton when rockin the fillmore was made?

  • @eyerishiam Frampton was 21 when this was recorded. I love his playing on this song. A true rocker.

  • @Howiebob57 Are you sure? I saw this performed at Long Beach CA auditorium in 1971 and we heard he was only 16. And he looked it.

  • @oregidog Yup. He was born in 1950 :-)

  • Most of todays' bands can't come close to this magic,I think the downhill slide began with the"MOOG SYNTHESIZER'S INTRO.

  • Rockin \m/

  • I can't stop shaking my head to this!

  • Love the antacid comment.... hoho!

  • The 3 zombies that didn't like this must be beiber, and lady gag gag fans.

  • Love the feedback at 7:55!

  • one of the great all time live party jams!!!!!! wore this one out at the frat house during our mad dog parties!!! God, the early seventies turned out some great music, bring those days back!!!!!!

  • rockin

    \m/

  • Does this remind anyone of the live version of "Do You Feel Like We Do?"? Of course it should, since Frampton was part of it, but I'm not sure who the genius responsible for the song's incredible dynamics is...could be Steve Marriott, or both...best part is when it goes back into the chorus @ 7:55...it sounds so fucking HEAVY!!

  • @cathoderoy I think it just got to the point where there no longer was room for two superstars in the same band.

  • this IS the best version of this!!! I remember it well playing loud on my 8 track in my car!

  • @Clarkecars - I agree! one of the greatest hard rock things ever!!!!!

  • Can't beat this one, the whole album was rock from wall to wall, and i love playin this one, watch the crowd when Marriott hits those E-G-A chords, thats fuckin rock and roll my friends!!!(;

  • I know if I didn't smoke so much pot , this song would bring back a lot of memories so I'll trust you mother fuckers for how good this song is ... but I'm getting faint images of near miss car crashes , being on top of chubby girls in the back seat of my car , getting into a fight at Herfys ... does that count ? .

But seriously this is has got to be one of the best rock songs of all time .

  • ironically, i went to the dr today, and he told me to keep doing what i'm doing. which is why i am playin this as loud as possible and rockin out. no joke. music is my medicine. well..i have other help..don't need the dr for that, either :-)

  • Thanks for the memories I love this song......I know whats ailing me...

  • Thanks for the memories I love this song......

  • what's happening to my feet !!!

  • WOW! Great sound to this one.Nice job seeker.Brings back many found memories.

  • The Sereika--nice one! Long live orange sunshine & clearlight!

  • @TheSereika - "acid to antacid" ROFLMAO!! Life was a lot simpler back then. With no cable channels, DVD's etc. concerts were MAJOR events that had a real mystique about them. Not so now.

  • Grew up with this album - after 30 odd years and a couple of Powers whiskey's How cool is it to hear this again? thank God for you tube - 50 year old geriatric, still sounds as good as it did back then

  • @kphoey i'm 58, and it still kicks ass! so many great live albums back in 70's, including Allman Brothers, Zepellin, Trower, and the Who, remember Live at Leeds??? Magic Bus track was a killer, as was Whipping Post from the Allman Bros at the Fillmore. Great memeories and music that stands the test of time

  • @BLUESMANRONCHICAGO Live 70's albums - Pictures at an Exhibition (ELP), Grand Funk: LIve Album, Genesis Seconds Out, Band Of Gypsies (released March of 70 - I just checked!), Live At Leeds, ABB Fillmore East, Zappa Fillmore East, Zappa Roxy & Elsewhere, Zappa Live In NY, Yessongs, Gentle Giant Playing the Fool (one of my favorite albums of all time), Humble Pie Fillmore, Ten Years After Recorded Live - that's enough to get us started. :)

  • @purpledynasty forgot to mention one that was recorded in 1968, Cream, sides 3 and 4 from

Wheels of Fire recorded live at Fillmore West and Winterland in San Francisco, the live versions of Crossroads, Traintime, Spoonful and Toad showed Cream at their peak, and unfortunately at the end of their short life as a power trio. One other from the 70's is The Song Remains the Same, Zep at MSG in NY.

Seconds out, forgot that one, good choice, the Carpet Crawl, awesome song!!!!!!!!

  • @purpledynasty Don't forget Uriah Heep Live 1973.....

  • @BLUESMANRONCHICAGO Saw them perform in london in '71 with Grand Funk Railroad . Free concert in the Hyde park. LSD was everywhere.I was maybe 16 and now I'm 57 and still enjoy 'em .!!

  • @crusheroftheist Those were the days weren't they, sorry about the coffee bro...

  • When you listen to how incredibly crisp this live cut was, you undestand why Peter Frampton, appearing for almost the last time with the Pie, recorded a game changing double live masterpiece 5 years later...they found someone who finally figured out how to mix a live album...Just Listen to the Stones "got live if you want it" and you realize how far they came in a few short years! My all time favorite live cut...RIP Steve Marriott...reincarnated as Bon Scott.

  • @SuperLmcc you probably dumb enuff 2 say same stupid crap bout janis & joe cocker

  • More proof that the English lads always were a bit ahead of the Yanks in the "incredible rock" category...at least in my "humble" estimation

  • More proof that the English lads always were a bit ahead of the Yanks in the "incredible rock" category...

  • The is the greatest live rock album of all time, bar none. I can't even think of a close second.

    Bill

  • @wnorcott you make a strong assertion bud id say there're a couple

give it a run for the money but i couldnt say your opinon is wrong

pure unadulterated heart on your sleeve emotion and energy

i dont envy the band had to follow hp circa 1971 they were the definition

of what rocknroll was all about and 'performance' proves it

  • this is rock.

  • Didn't even need to eat. Over and over. We used to be unatraid. Enjoy same result for all.

  • Great memories. This is way back when I took alot of acid,Now I take alot of antacid....

  • @TheSereika ....ROFLMAOOO!!! Thanks for the laugh!

  • Stephen Peter Marriott (30 January 1947 – 20 April 1991) R.I.P.

  • some of the greatest rock musicians ever assembled in one band. if this shit doesn't make you move, check your pulse cause you're dead!

  • I think my hair just grew.

  • Long Live Rock!!! Great song to just crank up. Hard to believe this was recorded 40 years ago. Like I always say, classic rock never goes out of style.

  • You gotta admit, especially in this song, Frampton pays homage to Carlos Santana.

  • @reddiaperbaby yeah ,but why did frampton release comes alive as a live album when it was a studio album?. makes u kinda wonder bout the deception. steve marriott was one of the good ones tho. / his granddad started the mariott hoel chain, regards

  • My Top Ten ( in no particular order ). 1 Dont need no Doctor 2. Rock Bottom 3. Warrior 4. Soul Sacrifice 5. Cross Roads 6. Heart Breaker 7. Going Home 8. Immigrant Song 9. Hey Joe 10. War Pigs
  • this song was written by Ashford and Simpson disco king and queen....... go figure

  • @nar6307.........yeh, but thats what I call REAL talent.....meanwhile, back to Stevie & co.

  • Amazing!

  • Yeah baby !! this brings back the days of being a stoned teenager just having fun !!

This is definately a BLAST from the PAST !!!!

  • I can only imagine the ridicilous piles of cocaine backstage, followed by the downers at the end of the binge lol

  • Saw them open for Grand Funk in 70 or 71 (things were a bit fuzzy) these guys turned me on and have been a Pie fan since. I do believe it was one of the loudest concerts I have ever seen. Maybe even louder than early 70's Deep Purple. Marriot was a wild man.

  • Row EE Fillmore East (5th Row) and Frampton stood in with Juicy Lucy when their guitarist got sick . Frampton played both shows (one with Juicy and one with Humble) The next night or t he night before Juicy Lucy was on the bill with Jefferson Airplane and Frampton played with them that night too. I know this because I was right up front.

  • When

I was a kid, I kept trading this one in and re-buying it. Time has shown this era of the Pie to have been a classic, important band.

  • I CAN'T TELL YA HOW MANY STEREOS I BLEW UP PLAYIN THIS ALBUM AT EXCRUCIATING VOLUME LEVELS!!!!!!

  • High school '76, car load of Stroh's, bottle of Jack, oz. of high grade Columbian gold and headed for anywhere.

  • I saw this tour at The Shrine Auditorium in L.A. with Wishbone Ash. Ate three brownies that night. Boy did I get high!

  • High School 1971 Car load of Old Milwaukee, and some cheap mexican pot, headed for the swimmin hole DAM RIGHT !!!!!!!!!

  • ...And now you know where Buckcherry got their chops, baby. Gooood stuff...

  • thank you for posting this video - my favorite song

  • I saw Steve and the boys at Madison Square Garden. The Opening act Was Black Oak Arkansas. The concert was Kick Ass.

  • I saw Humble Pie with J. Giles Band (with Magic Dick) in 1972 at the Spectrum in Philly PA. It was hazey, we were high and it was awesome!!! I was born at the right time and yes, I was a concert freak. I just posted on Facebook that when I die I want to be cremated wearing my Woodstock button!!!

  • @Ladylovesrock1 those were the days, my man!!! some of my favorite concerts were Tull in 73 at the Chicago Stadium, Trower at the Aphitheatre, Pink Floyd At Milwaukee County Stadium, Zep at the Stadium in 75, and yes we were all VERY high and having the time of our lives!!! LONG LIVE ROCK!!!!

  • @Ladylovesrock1 those were the days, my lady!!! some of my favorite concerts were Tull in 73 at the Chicago Stadium, Trower at the Aphitheatre, Pink Floyd At Milwaukee County Stadium, Zep at the Stadium in 75, and yes we were all VERY high and having the time of our lives!!! LONG LIVE ROCK!!!!

  • @Ladylovesrock1 saw Geils at Southern Illinois University in 74, helluva show, some great harp blowing!!!!

    Rock's the house.

  • All Yeah!

  • This is the best version of I don't need no doctor ever! You're missed but we still have your music Stevie.

  • This is the best version of the I don't need no doctor ever! You're missed but we still have your music Stevie.

  • @budgetpreneur only one thing needs to be said, this song KICKS ASS!!!!!!!

  • @BLUESMANRONCHICAGO You described this song perfectly!!!

  • Thank you so much Steve- The layoff from the job this week after 27 years of service left this 50 yr old woman a pissed off mess (fuck you right back, AT&T). Just listening to this amazing song gave me back my smile for awhile. Back to my musical trip to happyland...a little "Hey Baby" with Ted Nugent! Luck to all of you looking for work!

  • What the fuck are you smokin kazoo? weak? warbly voice? LMFAO. Probably a Maroon Five fan..pffft

  • I used to think Allman's Live At The Fillmore was the greatest live album ever til my older brother got me this one!!!!!.......FUCKIN NAILED SPOT-ON ENTERNAL GREATNESS RIGHT HERE!!!!!!!!

  • In order to beat the man , you have to be the man ... Steve Marriott was The Man .

  • I owned this album and played it a lot before I even knew who Peter Frampton was. I wish he'd have been the lead singer--Steve Marriott was in love with his raw, weak, warbly voice and oversang stuff quite a bit. The music, however, rocked hard!

  • @kazoo71kid What the fuck are you smokin?

  • You dont know what youve got til its gone.

  • Totally agree with RichardScott1958 - Steve was amazing with that voice! One of Frampton's tastiest leads, but he still kicks ass today. Others are Very much missed and the list is a long one, but thank God their music lives on for the 'youngin's to get an idea of what real music and talent sounds like!

  • I remember well the tall bass player with his legs apart solid like a rock

  • You can definitely tell Peter's solo's....this was one of my first albums back when it came out! I still get goosebumps when they come out of the long solo's......a classic album that every rocker should have!

  • Today's music cannot compare, all the fake instrument mixes and the like. How did we get so fucked up ? Humble pie was unbeliveably awesome , what a line up!

  • thanx seeker for posting.i got the album, but the turntable is broke.Been searching

for a long time,& you finally saved the day.THIS ALBUM ROCKS!!!!!!

  • who can tell which solos are steve's and which are peter's?

  • @voodoochild981 PF on the left, SM right. PF takes 1st solo at 2:44. SM plays a mistake at 3:38, but pulls the beast back in line and shows it who's boss!

  • Rarely (if ever) has rock seen a guy like Marriott, who just bubbled over with as much talent and enthusiasm as love for what he was doing. If you really think about it, that is impossibly rare. Not many hit that mark. We remember those that do. The little bastard was a marvel. We won't see his like again.
