  • Thanks so much! At the moment I couldn't afford the 10 bucks for a CD/DVD cleaning disk. It worked wonders! My xbox360 tray wouldn't open... unless I pressed the button constantly. This technique cleaned the lens and now it opens promptly. Regardless of what nay-Sayers say... it was a blessing to me.

  • Worked for me, decided to risk the potential damage of further cotton bud dust being left on the lens.

  • WARNING!Don't try this the cotton will stay at the lence; BUY lens cleaner CD better

  • DON'T USE THIS TRICK

    IT WIL HARM YOUR LASER

THE COTTON WIL STUCK IN THE LASER OR CD SLOT

  • Will this be work for a xbox360?

  • thanks man

  • Got a "Power Calibration" error on my Plextor 716a and the burner was completely build in my htpc. Your tip solved my problem! Thanks!

  • will this work for a wii?

  • Wow this really freakn worked!!! I bought a cleaner disc but it wouldn't even read and we are sick of watching dvds on my laptop. Works like new :)

  • this will make it worse will it not? because it will get caught on lens

  • my ps3 don't read any game anymore , so i bought a blu-ray cleaner

but he can't read the blu ray disc , so i make this dvd and hé plays back every game

    so many many thanks :-))

  • DAMN!!! My computer had a CDRW and DVD-ROM drive, but it could only do cd's. I tried this AND NOW IT CAN READ DVDS!!! and I thought this was a fake...

    this video rocks!!!

  • For a ps3 you should not use a CD cleaner bc the blu ray lens is really sensitive

  • @zeller123 It's no different than any other lens, light is light.

  • R u trying 2 break my ps3 even more?

  • Holy shit this thing actually works! I gave up on my DVD-ROM because it wasnt reading any of the dvds i put into it, but when i tried this. holy crap it works@

  • why dont you glue horse tails on it they dont leave fluff behind

  • My dvd player does not work it always says ''No disk'' NOW i can play my music movies, etc.... Works great

  • will this work for wii? dual layerd disk

  • just tried it, works great

  • it didnt work:(

i used the white glue not the gluestick

is that why it didnt work?

  • OMG! THANK YOU SOO MUCH "zeller123" IT WORKED SOO WELL FOR MY WII!!! AHH!! :D

  • yoooo i just did that... omg it work hahaah. thanks man

  • That looks like it would do more damage than repair. Today I went to the dollar store and found a lens cleaner disc there. Only cost $1 since it was at a dollar store, it even came with some fluid to put on the disc too.

  • This also works in a computer cd player right?

  • Glad this person doesn't work on the space shuttle.

  • @KartSeven1 kk.

@CrazyInfernape What did kartseven say about not @ing your self >:O silly goose :D

  • heres what u do go buy one dont do what is on this vid unless you want to get a cotton ball stuck in your disk drive or break your lens then your really screwed.

  • @braianascua Totally agree; however, what lens cleaner kit for DVD should one buy? Any particular recommendation?

  • @orestesdd yeah go to google and put in cd lens cleaner and a lot of cds with a brush will show up and pick one from there.

  • Thankyou so much dude! You brought my xbox back to life! You rule! :D

  • it worked for my ps3 for like 1 game then broke...

  • you're joking!

  • It's not good because it will leave the the tiny particles of cotton at the lense

  • @KartSeven1

lol you have got the point & that's what I needed

  • @KartSeven1 Lens is correct for a single element. For instance, contact lenses come in pair, one contact lens for the right eye and another contact lens for the left eye unless you miss one eye, and then you only need one single contact lens. Got it?

  • @aaqibi I thought the same. The lens will then leave small lints from the cotton and who knows what the glue can do.

  • @orestesdd

The glue is dry by that time but the cotton is very soft it & it will release tiny little strings when rubbed against the lens

I used thin Velvet cloth instead of cotton but that either worked for me in the end I lower down the resistance of my lens & now it's cool

  • I have tried it, in fact it did work for me.

But thanks to this comment, i carefully remove all the cotton dust before using the hand made disc.

  • how stupid do u think i am obviously tht wont work

  • i wouldnt really use a glue stick think it would leave a little cotton on the lens

super glue would prob hold much better

  • fake!!

  • Thanx, it worked like a charm. My nec burner kept saying 'no disk' whenever i placed a dvd rw in the driver. Problem solved ;)

  • Time to fix my xbox... it works but it always says disc read error so i have to put the game out then back in about 500 times so this might save me a few seconds of my life ty

  • what disk should i use an empty disk or a disk that already has data

  • @cocoadile Doesn't matter any CD

  • Next well teach how to glue sand & grinding paper on to your cds or dvds. So you can really smooth off and scrub away those dirty surfaces in your dvd or cd drive, along with other important electronic junk that you won't mess or forget. And best of all this well really get your dvd or cd rom burner, back to burning cds and dvds like never before. We guarantee you won't ever have to buy another cd cleaner again!! TRY IT TODAY!!! :)

  • Hey, Thanks. This worked for my CD player in my Dodge Caravan. Had to insert it several times and then normal CD several times, but stayed in longer and longer , skipped up the scanning tracks and then it started playing normally. Didn't really have another option but to replace or spend more on different types of cleaners. Glad I tried your method!

  • First, that's not one. That's not even Metallica. Second, your spelling is terrible.

  • @pop9563 But thank you for watching LOL

  • @pop9563 Spelling's the first thing I noticed!

  • works like a charm for ps3 too!

  • @BigizzyTV Nice!

  • This isen't a good idea the cotton can get stuck in the system..

  • would bits of the cotton rip off in the drive...if seen cotton balls get destroyed from cleaning the pickup on a guitar i can only imagine it spinning across a laser lens and assembly

  • dos it work on gamecub games

  • well gamecube games are small so u got to find a small disk should work

  • dos it work I havent tried it YET

  • Comment removed

  • THANK YOU

I was about to buy an external DVD reader for my Mac Mini whose superdrive could no longer read any disk.

This trick saved me the 80€ or so, and now I can watch DVDs again.

  • it fucked up my CPU.

  • I didn't think this would work, but it does. Thanks for putting this on.

My Wii kept getting read errors. I used a blank DVD and followed the instructions. The first time it didn't work. I put the DVD in again 5 times and powered down and up again each time and now it reads every game.

Make sure there is no loose cotton wool or it might get stuck in your player.

  • did it work yes or no

  • HAHAHAHA lol

  • I pitty the fool who's dumb enough to ty this.

  • @omarcortes88 lol i will to if i had a god damn glue stick o well
