rich, i agree with your sentiments regarding the homage being paid to a really classic tune. I just think this is like trying to remake a classic film...one that definitely should not be remade, under any circumstances, because the original is just too great and needs to be left alone. Certain songs, like certain films, should be preserved, for eternity, in their original form.

I am a huge Stone Roses fan, I Am The Resurrection is my favourite song of all time and I really like this version. Yes the original is better and is immortal but that doesn't mean that it can't be re-interpreted or sound good played a different way. To all the other Roses fans who are slagging it off you should be proud that the Roses were so much of an influence on other musicians that they love the band as much as we do and are paying tribute to the Roses by covering their work.

great song - heard it yesterday on Dutch public radio (1) - caught my ear - not difficult to track down. Drummer does a wonderful job in this live version. Singers tune well.
