They said it, for me it honestly looks like a simon says game. The controller is rather simple, there's your average guitar hero fret buttons, and your whammy is deformed into this record disc. Gameplay looks realy boring, bringing nothing new if you have played these type of games before. But what i like is the studio mode and possible "good" music playlist. If this would be alot cheaper compared to djhero, i might give this thing a chance.

What is there is more like real dj equipment than the dj hero. You don't 'strum' with a turntable, the way the game is made you can perform real scratches, and create your own music. Which is what i think this game is about more so than just hitting notes on time(No offense to DJ hero, just seems like freestyle mode would have been more fun for it)
this game does look better as far as scratching and adding your own beat, but DJ Hero focuses more on the mixing side of DJing, but hopefully they do have a freestyle mode where you can create your own songs using the beatpad and turntable...
It looks exactly like the original beatmania with the Frequency interface. A couple extra features are expected that it is a 12 year old game mechanic.
I don't know if this game is better than DJ Hero and if both of these were out I would have a tough time on deciding which game is better and whcih game I'd like to buy.

Beatmania is freakishly difficult, has a great variety of music.. even a history of music, in a way... from the producers making Gabbah, Hardstyle, Hard Techno, Freeform Hardcore, N-Beats, Drum n Bass, Tech-Beats.. everything. Beatmania at least understands variety... On top of that, there are also typical and necessary J-Pop, Classical, Rock, Reggae, Ballads, some orchestra shit, Bossa Novas and Lounge tracks in Beatmania IIDX. All in one. Great game, forever
well it is really mate, compare it to the only other dj computer game controller on the market (DJ hero) it has a rotating platter, most DVS controllers dont have that yet! it is built using AKAI pads and made by Numark who are a DJ equipment manufacturer.
1st and foremost blaynex, know what you're talking about before you speak (or type in this case). Beatmania came BEFORE DDR, hence the Bemani music simulator screen when ever ddr loads. Scratch was totally inspired by Beatmania. Scratch does look interesting, but I'll hold out for BM IIDX: Empress.
