He picked Marquez first, as a test and warm up, because of all Pacquiao's fights in the U.S., Marquez gave Pacquiao the most trouble. Mayweather knows that Pacquiao fought Moralis 3 times, but refused to do the same with Marquez. There's a good reason.
There's too much money to be made, and Mayweather will also eventually fight Mosley, Cotto. and possibly Andre Burto before retirement.

I never said Mayweather sold out anything. PPV numbers don't lie though. And if we're really going to be fair, neither Pacquiao nor Mayweather have fought Cotto, so there's no comparable numbers there.
Pacquiao had a great year this time, so he deserved boxer of the year. I really don't see what this has to do with anything though. I never said Pacquiao sucks, or anything of the sort. I really don't have problem with him as a boxer.

For starters, that I never insinuated that Pacquiao wasn't good. That guy has an illustrious career in boxing. What I am saying is that the fame he has now comes off of two superficial fights. He has better fights he should be know for.
Mayweather Sr only trained Hatton for two fights. Hatton had 46 fights prior to Mayweather. You can't really teach an old dog new tricks.

You just said a ton of things that were inherently wrong. First, every boxer is an entertainer and cares about money. Boxers do have a love for the sport, but at the end of the day, they care about the money. Secondly, Mayweather is the most technical boxer in the sport. If anything, he is the most gracious athlete boxing has. All Floyd cares about is money, winning, and being the best. Who does he have to beat to be the best? We'll see Nov. 14th.
