Russians were always good at chess because they know how to analyze the board. People need move out of cities into rural communities, grow their own food using heirloom seeds. Get few dogs to deter others stealing your goods. Electric bicycle and trailer with solar charger (range up to 200km at 40mph ).

peak oil can just as easily refer to production and not what is understood to be still in the ground. So drowning in it not withstanding the production numbers did peak out. Could it increase at some future point ? yea sure, but for now it peaked a number of years ago.

@ 18:00 very good point. The US cannot continue to live on Zero Interest Rate Policies. When people decide to feed themselves and stop exporting for a continually devalued dollar the US will collapse and the rest of the world will improve economically - assuming there isn't a war to keep prices up.

@glennwih They named it wrong is all. It's peak cheap, easy-to-get-to oil thats dwindling. (The kind the economy is based on.) Alternative energy is definitely the future, but it's been debunked as a possible solution to keep the infinite growth paradigm going.
