Are you for real???? Hell no do you need to crack/probe/beat to a pulp every chip!!!! if you use a decent quality resin it will flow into a star/ bulls eye/ any other chip without beating it up!! if you make more damage, you will have to repair more damage.....

vacuum out the air first without a resin pool is the right way to do repairs. This equipment is old school

I agree on small "tight" breaks, opening up the damage will improve repair, but this is not required on existing damage over say 5mm.

I agree. With the proper injector and resins it is not necessary.

I have been doing this for about five years and must say that this step is unnecessary if you use proper equipment.

buy some NANO470 resin and avoid this step.
