That update today certainly did something to this glitch, now zombies will maybe sort of head for the door, but if you are anywhere on the half of the circle near the door, the zombies will just keep following you no matter how close you lead them to the door. At least last night my friend and I could get rid of most of the zombies following us by taking them near the door.
