  • I had this model about 3 years, I think I am finally going to start it this weekend. I want to try to light it myself. very nice work.

  • Very nice!!!!

  • I just ordered this model the other day and plan on using your videos as a guide. Very awesome, hope mine turns out half as good as yours. I plan to take my time n this one.

  • The ships and characters might be fictitious, but Gene Roddenberry's belief of a better and more loving human race and achieving a utopian society is far from fictitious. It is "Gene's Dream" which the "Trekkers" like myself believe in. We have evolved from a simple Television show, to the "theology" of Trek.

  • I bought the Polar Lights kit and I wanted to know how you painted the larger parts of the ship. I have seen many different air brush paint kits and wanted to know if you have a preference? Great job on this kit!!!!

  • Did you have to use a clear blue for the Nacelles? Are the Trekmodeler LED's

    white or blue?

  • @jwstrand63 You will get instructions when you get your light kit. I think I put down the clear blue first, followed by a few coats of frost spray(avaliable at craft stores). LEDs are white so the outside warp grill is correct color.(same lights)

  • Love your work, outstanding job!!!, BTW it's Trekker, not Trekkie, we hate that, but no problem, would love to see an Enterprise D in this scale!

  • @classcarpentry I'm a life long Trekker and I told him that if he's not a Trek fan then after he built this he would become one.

  • the model kits have come a long way since the AMT 22" model kit of the 80's.

  • Great work! Is there some sort of metal frame which will keep the nacelles and the saucer section aligned and level ?

  • there should be five lines.... OF COURSE, thats the first think someone recognizes watching this ...... great peace of model builder art!

  • You are a modeling GOD!

  • how some decenting lighting so we can see the thing XD

  • I like your videos thay are giving me some ideas for my enterprise model

  • very nicely done

  • Amazing video. Your work is amazing!

  • Dude, Awesome build. Can't wait to some more on this one. Keep up the great work

  • please do not be quick I like your "droneing on"

  • The Enterprise-D clear kit is listed with cult-TV-man in their hobby shop section. The other is listed with round2models (models, atm, enterprise-d-clear). Neither location is taking orders right now. Cult-TV-Man is accepting pre-orders to give them an idea of how many to hand on hand ahead of time. Price seems to be 54.95 retail. I think it's bigger than the original release of Enterprise-D which was 1:2500. This one is supposed to be 1:1400.

  • Coming along real nice!

  • Excellent as always. I've seen a couple of ads on the internet of an Enterprise-D (Next Generation Star Trek) coming out July 2010. Supposed to be 1:1400 scale made completely in clear plastic. Supposedly, many of the later models created for the T.V. series were made that way. Easier to light but requires a lot more painting to mask light leaks. I think it's AMT/Round2 that's producing it. Don't know what quality it'll be in or how detailed.

  • Great stuff! Thanks for posting. Cannot wait for the next episode.

  • It's looking great, man. Not only is the scale awesome, but the lights just make it pop.

  • lol amazing as usual :) That was VERY smart what you did w/ the nacellle- I would have never thought of that! Flood lights are AWESOME! I wish I could see them in person- they do look pretty bright on camera.

You'd be surprised in how realistic Star Trek really is when compared to real life. We've gained a lot technology wise due to ST believe it or not :) Cell phone, Hypo spray, cloaking device, and magnetic shields have so far been invented- as well as a small deflector dish. GREAT JOB!

  • @SVPrelude Thanks, and I'm pretty impressed with the amount of thought that goes into the Trek technology. They have a "scientific" principle behind everything on the shows.

  • Well, this Trek-dork thinks you're doing a good job. I like the way the light diffuses on the nacelles.

  • @finalfrontier1701 Thanks!

  • wear did you buy this :o?

  • @trimi38 I'm custom building it from the Polar lights kit.

  • @helipilot27 can you pm me a link to the kit and custum stuff yo got?

  • @trimi38 Sure, sorry didnt see your comment until now.

  • nice work there
