im just f++in mad because americans can have ford in europe but in america we cant have opels that is so sick i hate that my first car i ever drove was an opel opel rocks it rocks better then gay old ford OPEL RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@jolokubus haha i agree with you. i would love to have german spec cars in the states. no clue why we cant do that. ya the car i was driving in the vid is a Chevy cavalier lol
@KILLTHEEMOS no it really isnt. especially if youre close to a US military base. the different shops and eateries and offices that provide jobs to american military dependents are required to have a certain percentage of local nationals working there as well. so youre gonna see many germans working jobs on US military bases. whoever is hiring prefers that the german does know english :)
@3x0rcyst3m yeah, even though i live off base, there are a lot of americans living in my neighborhood. however, chances are, they didnt bring those cars from the States because there are a lot of issues with American-spec cars violating european laws. for instance, not all american-spec cars show the speed in KPH. also, theres a european law stating that the outer-most portion of a rim must be parallel to the tire or concave in and a lot of american-spec cars violate that..
Hey Don, ich haben ein frage, I have a goal of visiting Germany next summer ( June, July ) for at least a week and what if you know is an inexpensive hotel to stay at close to Berlin where I can get around on bus or train and be able to see and do things ? I have already searched sites like hotels.com and such but would love a perspective from someone who is living there and has seen a lot. Any help is appreciated. Danke :)
@mrdefkon1 Berlin is always a great trip to take. its about a 6 hr drive from where my folks live in kaiserslautern, so i dont go frequently - only have been there twice. the first time was with a tour group and i unfortunately have no clue about the prices of the hotel & tour package (my mom made the payments). HOWEVER, the second time i went, i went on my own, and i did something quite different that i wholeheartedly recommend.... which i will continue in my next comment haha
That sounds real cool, I actually have a lot of family in Germany. None that I have formally met, but hopefully I can make a contact between now and next summer so I can meet them and really get some good help on getting around. I did look up and find a hotel called ( Hotel Carmen ) which as of now has rates of about 69.00 a night and has gotten 4 and 5 star ratings by guests who have stayed. I only hope I can get a good deal on airfare. :)
@mrdefkon1 Theres this attraction in Brand, a suburb about 45 minutes away called the Tropical Islands Dome. it's an indoor tropical resort the size of 9 football fields. i went there & booked tickets for the dome & accomodations. i could have stayed in the dome (which would have costed more), but i opted to stay in Ferienwohnung (vacation apartments) in a village called Teupitz. from teupitz, its a short taxi ride to the train station in Brand, where you can get to all of the sites of berlin!
@3x0rcyst3m most people buy US models (usually used, so its cheaper) here in Germany and they buy them German-specs and just sell it before they move because it costs so much more to ship it back to the states
@laveth well on base, its bout the same as a big city in the states - roughly $4.50... offbase is bout $6 when you convert from Euros.... worst place to get gas is if you end up traveling to the Netherlands. some places there are about $10/gallon.
Wow everything's so green there
