Yeah skaar, you are right, they do have pretty good commercials. I just wish their used prices were a bit more reasonable.. 2-5 bucks off new (27 for 30 and 55 for 60) is not enough to take the risk of buying used... many times a game scratch is not discovered until after 7 days (for me anyways)
gamestop sucks, they claim to be for the gamer when in fact EB (electronics boutique) was way better... THEY ARE SELLING USED GAMES AS NEW!!!! and the used games are only a few measly bucks off new price!!! DO GO TO GAMESTOP!!! STOP GAMESTOP!!!!
first off, we are for the gamer, which is why we exist in fact, secondly we bought eb games so those stores still have those employees and to be honest, there wasnt really a difference between the two, and secondly so what if the used games are a couple bucks less, buy a damn edge card and get some more money off and not to mention buying used you have the option of returning the game within 7 days of purchase if you dont like it, unlike new games where once you break the seal...your kinda stuck
Don't get me wrong, I love the "gamestore" concept, just not gamestop.. There was a difference with EB, the used game prices were fair, without having to sign up for the damn game card. At gamestop's "used" prices, one might as well buy new and support the developer!! And when I heard about gamestop employees taking home new games, then later selling them as new!!!! shameful.. Nothing personal, but you work for an evil money grubbing corp.. (before I wrote DO GO as opposed to DO NOT lol).
i used to work at a EB before gamestop took over, the prices were the same, so i didnt have to learn anything new. i hear ya on that, but it depends where you live, im a Manager at mine, if i even so hear of someone thinkin of rentin a new game at my store they lose their privledges for a month. i dont think thats fair either, so i do agree with you on that sense. and yes, we know that we work at that kinda corp...but they are up 22% in this horrible economy so they gotta be doin somethin right.
Yeah, I can understand many peoples' dislike of Gamestop. I didn't have such a great experience with a Gamestop I visited myself. I went to a gamestop in a city I was visiting. I asked the clerk there for Quake 4, and he said "Excuse me? What?" I had to say "Do you have Quake 4 for the PC" about 4 times before he understood me. He pointed out a small section in the Gamestop store, which was a small metal rack with a few PC Games on it. Suffice to say, Quake 4 was nowhere on there.
The second time that I went to the same gamestop, another person was working there and he was very rude and obnoxious. I just walked out and never stepped in the store again.
I'll admit that I get a kick out of their commercials. I guess I'm a little too Nostalgia, but I do miss the days when Nintendo and Sega use to advertise *alot* on TV (and their console war would even sometimes spill out on these commercials). Not many games are advertised on TV anymore, especially humerous ones.
its about the same leanght as that other commercial using, I think, the Shadowrun game. Although, that one kind of leads to the point of what kind of commercial it is.
But, strogg looking for its kitty, LOL. It'll get old. but the first couple times are funny.
