People tend to have a distorted view of KISS people either love them (me) or hate them. I's actually almost rather have them go out on tour sans makeup & play some more 80's tunes. Some of the albums as a whole may not have been great, but each album had a few gems on them.

Someone posted that this was a hair metal vid....,well, all Paul and Gene did was jump on a bandwagon that THEY helped create. There are a handful of bands from the 70s that inspired hairmetal...the theatrics and anthems of KISS, the shock of Alice Cooper, the regal riffing of Zep, the doom and gloom of Sabbath, the all out glam of the NY Dolls, the bluesy riffing of the Faces, and finally, last but not least, the Rolling Stones, who created the whole mess....

Paul and Gene were trying hard to keep the KISS brand alive in the 80s...and they did a hell of a job. A lot of fans put them down for the membership changes, but what were they supposed to do? I love Peter and Ace, obviously, but why should Paul and Gene quit what they put their lives into creating b/c of unreliable partners? The nonmakeup albums feature some stellar tracks, and my hat is always off to Paul and Gene (esp PAUL) for soldiering on like the great Americans they are......
