  • @ramakrishna365 Fuck off!

  • KONY 2012

  • nikkor 17-35 MM F2.8 ED BEAST

  • Very nicely done... funny AND useful.

  • LOL nikkor

  • 4:51

    15-55 kit lens?

  • Should I get the 17-55 ƒ/2.8 or the 16-35 ƒ/4?

  • You could tell this GUY is a Nikon Fan

  • 6:30 the guy in the background :DD

  • What's with the magazine?

  • sigma 17-50 f/2.8 vs nikkor version!

  • The D7000 is under 'maintenance'

  • Ken Rockwell told me that the kitlens is "better" than the Nikkor 17-55mm AFS f/2.8 DX, and it's cheaper too.

  • @RoyVanNistelrooij you have to take everything Rockwell says with a grain of salt, does the kit lens go to 2.8? No, that is what you are paying for with this lens, Your paying for depth of field, this lens gives u better background separation. and it is better in low light. There is a huge difference between f5.6 at the tele end of the kit lens vs the 2.8 of this lens. It is also much much better built.

Look at Ken rockwel's portfolio, its pretty awful, maybe 4 great pics.

  • @zamanakhan The difference is not really noticeable when you use both lens in daylight, sure I give points to the 2.8 for better low light performance, but lets be honest, if I were to shoot in low light I'd be using my fast primes, so the kitlens is a better zoom option for regular shooting, you get the best bang for the buck.

Ken Rockwell knows what he is talking about.

  • @RoyVanNistelrooij The only advantage of the kit lens is the low price, nothing else. 17-55/2.8 is better in build quality (it's durable and weather sealed), focus (lightning fast AF) and optics (even corners are sharp at 2.8!).

  • @RoyVanNistelrooij Ken Rockwell also tells you to leave the lens hood at home. Doofus.

  • cool dog

  • Nikon needs to lower the price on this lens, $1499 is insane.

  • Well, now that you know what the 17-55 is like from Nikon, let's see you do a review of the Sigma 17-50mm f 2.8!

  • do u think this Lens is better than the nikkor 24-70mm for the d7000?

  • oh ya thanks

  • you really cant review it correctly on a d700

  • @SilentEcho8 yeah, maybe, but $1,500?? a little too pricey for me..

  • this guys is damn irritating!

  • @Bullybeef972 then why are you watching it you sad sad person

  • @Dragon4eva ...Didn't watch the whole thing coz i couldn't take it...therefore...the remarks...now i'm a happy person :)

  • i'd say a little too big and bulky for practical use. i'll stick with my 18-55mm kit lens.

  • Comment removed

  • everythings solid for u 55

  • Kit lens @ 17 mm? How do you do that?

  • Nikkor 17-55mm f/2.8 Can be used with d3100

  • its funny because alot of hallucinogens can go straight up the middle of your ass o.o

  • Thanks for comparing it w/ the 18-55 kit lens, especially the sharpness. I'm commiting suicide now! The 17-55 costs around 1300 Euros here in Germany. Damnid!

  • Do you guys have the sun ever shining in there?!. None of Kai's videos showing a BRIGHT sun, I wanna see the sun in HK! :)

  • @aalani go there during their summer season and you'll wish that the sun doesn't exist.

  • @aalani maybe lok is using ND filter for his lens when recording the videos that's why it looks like that. sorry for my english :p

  • waiting so long for this lens review. Cool~!!!

  • Rented this lens for my vacation last summer. All I can say is HEAVY!!!

  • please review canon 17-55mm f/2.8 vs tarmon 17-50mm f/2.8 VC and non VC

  • Kai! You should know better than to sit a lens down on it's rear element without a lens cap! Other than that, good review. Been waiting for you guys to do a review of this lens.

  • 6:23 To Kai's right is pure epicness.

  • kay! Please test the sigma 17-50mm 2.8 os. maybe he is just as good as the nikon! greeting hans from holland

    xiniximaging.nl

  • A big adv for crop sensor lenses is that they can be made smaller than full frame lenses but this lens defies this. How lame.

  • Review this rokinon 85mm 1.4 lol

  • 4:45 alamby.

  • Music overrode most of what Kai was saying - levels were all out :(

  • Please review Sigma 24-70mm F2.8 IF EX DG HSM vs Canon and Nikon equivalents.

    Thanks Digital Rev

  • whats with the angst music

  • It's a crappy lens - steer clear!

  • make a video with the nikkor dx 17-55 2.8 vs. Canon ef s 17-55 2.8!

  • 6:12 A what test??

  • @Coolestbj bokeh test

  • @henkdevries111 Whats that?

  • @Coolestbj lens blur

  • @henkdevries111 Oh thxs, I didn't know that.

  • Kai last video in 2011????

  • He said 15-55mm. What.

  • I rented this lens for a day to shoot an event, and I was a bit underwhelmed with the performance and image quality compared to the much smaller, cheaper, and lighter Tamron 17-50 mm f 2.8. Plus it is ridiculous to pay for something that expensive and it's only a DX lens. Did not want

  • Why is the quality crap even with 1080p?

  • is Kai featured in the LFI or something?

  • @rendear Check my profile for comparison between Nikkor 17-55 and Tamron 17-50: ?v=_ESr7ld6dSQ

  • 1000$ lens!

Could you compare some budget options, as sigma 17-50 EX OS HSM, Tamron 17-50 (vc an non vc)...

  • Next interesting video anyone...Nikon D7000 + 17-55mm f/2.8 vs Canon 7d + 17-55mm f/2.8 vs Sony a77 + 16-50mm f/2.8? would be awesome IMO :) I own the sony, and the bokeh is amazing!

  • Next interesting video anyone...Nikon D7000 + 17-55mm f/2.8 vs Canon 7d + 17-55mm f/2.8 vs Sony a77 + 16-50mm f/2.8? would be awesome IMO :)

  • When I upgrade to D7000 I'm painting it pink.

  • I wanna a review comparing this lens and Tamron 17-50 2.8 (NO VC)

  • @rendear just get the Nikon, it is incredible. If you want lightweight, get the Tamron

  • @isctony But I think that the Nikon is too expensive about its features. And in the other hand the tamron is too soft at f/2.8 and corners. I supose that finally i'll decide in concordance with my pocket.

  • wheris beautiful Alamby gone.............is she been replaced?

  • @thisissudip She is at 4:33

  • fiat and alfa romeo in hong kong?

  • Please review Canon 17-55mm f/2.8 vs. Nikkor 17-55mm f/2.8 DX

  • Comment removed

  • @MightyTabooTiki Why would you compare the Nikon to the Canon? It's not like the Canon would work on a Nikon body. I'd rather see it compared to the Tamron and Sigma.

  • @thisisbenji90 Cause they can....

  • Comment removed

  • Anyone needs 4:33 and 4:45 replay button? You're welcome...

  • I think the book helps him with "Slap Lappy Time"...LOL

  • thank you so much for reviewing this lens. I've been waiting for a long time

    Thank You DigitalRev

  • Best dx lens for me!

  • the kit lens is not a 15-55, silly.

good review. the lack of decent bokeh kinda kills it huh?

  • Usually i just watch commentary video's like this and watch porn at the same time, but and just can do with Kai, are can hear him, say "ooh, you dirty little boy... sitting there... watching porn" it's just so wrong... Maybe there is just something wrong with me ! -.-

  • about time you reviewed this lens!

  • anychance of a review on the new Nikon one??

  • digital rev, can you review the sigma 17-50 2.8 in comparison to this one? i think that would be a very good comparison

  • VS 17-55mm f/2.8 EF-S

  • I love these Nikon reviews! :)

  • alamby should do reviews!

  • there is a "DX on FX" group on Flickr if you want to contribute.

Thanks for the review guys that was good fun.

  • hey were is sony a77 vs canon 7d?

  • thumbs up, if you clicked on the video because of Alamby in the thumbnail =)

  • what? dude? this is awful review...the only thing that keeps me going is more of alamby;s appearance....

Dont use Fx again to review Dx lens!

Just wait for your Dx being repaired

  • @an006 he did shot it in DX mode =.=

  • LMAO Osama on the front cover of that magazine in a US flag shirt.

  • gotta love his fashion style

  • Oi, Kai get a haircut!

  • WHERES ALAMBY???

  • NO VR !!! Come on Nikon what has come to your mind to launch this lens?

I would have loved to buy one but without VR its just pointless.

Could you review the Tamron 17-50 VC?

  • @xXshishamastaXx let me review it for you....

Buy Tamron forget nikon for this Dx lens....

Nikon is slightly have sharper lens and less vignetting and less...but Tamron have VC and cheaper price....

  • @xXshishamastaXx

I've owned this lens for a number of years and it stays on my camera 95% of the time. I have never felt the need for VR, nor would I want the VR if it meant added weight or additional design complexity that might affect image quality.

Often times I wonder if people clamoring for VR simply want it to say that they have it or whether it is truly absolutely essential. For a telephoto lens, I can understand, but for a standard zoom, I think it is pretty optional.

  • @vluu80 I have the lens already and I've got the VC version.

A lens with f2.8+VC has the same light input as a fast 50, therefore is the lens even more versatile than a normal zoom.

  • @vluu80 I haven't used the 17-55/2.8, so I cannot comment on that. However, I can say that when I used the 18-55 VR kit lens that came with my D3100, I had use for the VR functionality, when taking indoor vacation shots (architecture, dark bazaars etc). I later bought the 16-85 VR, in which the VR is slightly more effective. It is not just for tele shots, it's for taking 1/10 second shots in general. Just wait for 0.5 - 1 seconds when pressing the shutter, and everything "freezes".

  • @0debug VR might let you steady a shot at 1/10 seconds, but it won't let you stop motion in your subjects. If you're photographing non-moving objects, e.g. architecture, VR makes sense. But when you're photographing performers in a dimly lit place, there is no substitute for a faster lens and a camera with low noise at high ISO. It's all about using the right tool for the job. For my purposes, VR has very little use. I do however have a use for fast (wide aperture) lenses.

  • Great vids Kai!.....can you do a video on how to take Group Shots? Thanks

  • LOL, what is that guy doing at 6:23?

  • I see a Honda Prelude!

  • Where is Tamron 17-50

  • photo NOT sharp

  • dont you all get bored filming around Hong Kong only. Go to China, it's not that far away and kai can make all his sarcastic joke bout Made In China.."Owh made in China, not a good start", "plastic and look, made in China, worst combination"..funny kai will be overzealous when he sat foot there..yey!

  • Video Description: Kai goes to an art village then takes photos of allamby and lok moonlights as a graffiti artist.

  • Lets have more Lens reviews please......especially Nikon!

  • finally "DSLR" equipment preview :)

  • Nikon fan boy = Kai Wong

  • I have this lens. It sits on the shelf most of the time. Too heavy. I would rather use my 50mm/1.8 or Tokina 12-24/4

  • Quit with the Alamby BS, it's pathetic.

  • most of the time digital rev do good review... this time, its great... just because alamby in it

  • Kai please go to a taylor and get those jeans hemmed .

  • @denidude1 looks stylish

  • why the f*** is he holding that book in his hands all the time? :)

  • @jost1122 butthurt?

  • @jost1122 LFI - Leica Fotografie International.. it's a magazine.. he is Leica fan and they probably sponsor them or he wants to be sponsored by them.

  • @jost1122 Because he's a Leica fan at heart~ LOL

  • @jost1122 to make you think about it and ask!

  • @jost1122 yeah, hasn't he heard of a strap... every single time he swings that camera I gasp with anticipation of it just falling and breaking.

  • @jost1122 Because he loves Leica.

  • @jost1122 maybe ads? i dont get it tho :/

  • @jost1122 to show his love for leica lol

  • nice review!

  • Battle of the Bokeh. Canon vs Nikon @17-55.

  • When we create the DigitalRevTV drinking game, "could use it as a weapon" needs to be worth a shot.

  • i really looove this lens after watching this !! I WANT IT !!!

  • if I were Alamby I'd feel pretty creeped out by now

  • 'KAI IT BATTERY FACTORY'

  • perfect timing for this video, been doing alot of reading on this baby! want it now!

  • Just jump to 4:32 ..... it's what you came for.

  • i like it when they make serious yet funny reviews like this :) not stupid kai acting like someone else !

  • D7000 is dead after the weather sealing viedo??

    XD

  • @tatming1029 I hope not, they made a battle of the bokeh video after that shower :)

  • I'm here jz only for ALAMBY=)

  • @chong4488 You and Kai should go jz on each other...

  • ALLAAAAAMMMMBBBBBBYYYY Fever!!!

  • what happened to the d7000???? so it's not weather-sealed after watering it? hahaha. :))

  • Can everyone please respect Alamby ? She is a project coordinator not a superstar

  • alamby!!!!!

  • Very unprofessional, using dx len on fullframe body for the review :(, i see nothing special in this video!!!

  • @amorousboy254 Its a lens review you dumbass. And they said their D7000 was send for servicing. Anyway, the D700 has DX crop mode for DX lenses. It utilizes part of the sensor to fit the Image circle of the Dx lens. I don't see why is it unprofessional?

  • I am 16 and in love with Alamby :(

  • the D7000 is in maintainance... does it have anything to do with e weather sealing video?

  • @tkte85 probably kai got electrocuted by it =)

  • Nice "hidden" add for LFI. :D (btw. their master gallery is nice joke, there is actually a lot of ppl that know how to use Leica camera, but apparently they are missing there)

Btw. you should use D3x for crop mode (its actually pretty decent with D3x).

  • I came when I saw Alamby in the thumbnail. No pun intended.

  • Guy at 6:23 with the spinny thing is legend.

  • 3:32 - thanks for clarifying what you meant by the injection in your as*. I was worried. Only slightly, mind you, but I was concerned for a second. 4:12 you hit a gravitational distortion field. Your bad. This was one of the best ones - you cruising around the art show. Your brilliance shows a little more. Try doing something else in the same vein. Visit Thailand and we'll test the lenses for night shooting on Soi Bangla in Patong Beach. You with me Kai? Come on brah!

  • 3:32 - thanks for clarifying what you meant by the injection in your as*. I was worried. Only slightly, mind you, but I was concerned for a second. 4:12 you hit a gravitational distortion field. Your bad.

  • Alaammmmmbbbbbyyyy!!!!!!!!

  • 3:32 - thanks for clarifying what you meant by the injection in your as*. I was worried. Only slightly, mind you, but I was concerned for a second.

  • Alamby surprise!

  • Haha! Canabis on this video? :)) See 1:24

  • @wearymax REALLY?!?! Is it legal in HK?

  • Socks in boat shoes? And in a color that matches neither the jacket nor the shirt..the armoury, it's a shame!

  • Good ol' Alamby

  • Sigma's 17-50mm f2.8 OS is way better.

  • @MrChelove no way. It's only cheaper.

  • Pentax 77mm review!!
