My IQ is 146 & it hasn't done shit for me other than be able to go to the edge & make it back alive. OD's Car wrecks & the other good stuff like that. Pulled back from the white light 3 times. Jones was too trusting a soul with his greedy, common contracters when caught stealing from him murdered him & even gave a death bed confession. Ya the stones are rather full of themselves they did some interesting stuff but they are full of themselves and bland as over cooked over processed synthetic english food and and quirky as a mouth full of english teeth,I know I am english.
I won't debate someone who can't spell or form sentences (recital? did you mean rectal?) Of course Keith is going to say mean and maybe even untrue things about Brian. But what people like you can't get is that there would be no Rolling Stones if it hadn't been for Brian. Period, end of subject.
@whatwouldjudydo Can't make my mind up whether you are being deliberately provocative! This band had five excellent musicians who made the sound between them. Brian Jones was an amazing guitarist - and possibly underated as he was around in the days when Eric Clapton, Pete Townshend, Ray & Dave Davies - to name but a few - were all in the charts, BUT - Brian was not the leading light of the Rolling Stones. Beautiful tho he was, I might add.
Brian singing the raspy vocal on 2nd part harmony. One of few numbers he sang on ("I Wanna Be Your Man" being another), all in the early days of the band.
@heywoodjerbloume seems he was a troubled human but a musically talented one as well...Brian played all kinds of instruments including slide guitar, harmonica, keyboards, sitar, flute, sax, dulcimer...the list goes on & on...the Stones was his band...Mick wouldn't join unless he could bring his buddy Keith along...and, by the way, his name is Keith not Keef
@swacbro He was very talented.I read he just picked up the sitar and let it rip.I know Richards name is Keith but I think universally he is refered to as Keef.Apparantly they want to make a movie of his life and are looking for actors to play the role.JoHnny Depp I feal would be a great choice.I really think the Stones were at their very best in the early blue era.
Everybody is still naging about Brian Jones as "the greatest" and so on. He was a sick fuck that in the end couldn`t even play tamburine on their records. How great is that?
@gydalf He wasn't a perfect human being no. But he isn't alone about that in the world of rock n roll now is he? Others have been forgived for their behaviour and remembered for their music. Brian became a victim of character assassination in the 80's by people he once called friends. You better listen to Beggar's Banquet again. Brian is present on almost every track there. He also plays some mean slide at Rock n Roll Circus. No tambourine though. Great musician and producer - flawed person.

I think Jackie Shane's TV version's even better. What a f-ing brave rebel that guy was. In the very early ,conservative '60s Jackie was openly gay, wore his hair coiffed woman-style, wore heavy eye makeup, & womanly clothing both onstage & off, & could pass for a girl! An androgenous glam artist 10 yrs. before it became a R''n"R fad. But he was just being himself. An early '60s freak. But his audience didn't flock for a freak show. They went to dig Jackie's soulful singing & charisma!
so who thinks that the dog because slow "is walking ", is wrong but quite powerful - for me a really well-outgoing piece of blues rock, where the Rolling Stones have on their '64 debut album, The Rolling Stones" their special class first presented to the test. One might almost think, already, that so many blues greats here a thing or deterred, or even copied.
@Flashsnake exactly. He's an sellout. The show is just another way in the music industry for stupid things. Technically there is barely any talent in the show
Haha that comment about Aerosmith made me laugh...who do you think those guys were influenced by? You're tellin me "Dude Looks Like a Lady" is real music? HA!
Brian may have gotten to ahead of himself, and the stage was set for his downfall. Keith and Mick where part of the stage of course and the band survived without him. Very sad.
the stones contrasted great with the beatles in the early days. while the beatles sound was honed and richly produced, the stones was raw and unadorned. they complimented one another so well. its a stupid excersize that asks which you like best? its apples and oranges. you enjoy both for what they are.

@Ge311rgo no, he wasnt.. Brian was indeed a talented musician, but Keith could write music and was able to create his own guitarplaying! He sings good to, and is a great bass player. He is the most talented..
@Ge311rgo I just read the new Keith book: Bill, Brian, Taylor, and Ron get no fucking credit. I love Keith, but you'd think he was the Stone were a one man show after reading that book.
It is not a book about the Rolling Stones, it is a book from and about Keith.(Keith's life) How HE experienced everything. I am to young to have seen the beginning of the Stones myself and I
I think it is a great read. I didn't didn't ecpect it to be about the other members aswel, that would make the book at least 2000 + pages, if you'll ask me, haha.
@Raoul16 yeah, your right it's a great read, but if you want to read the most comprehensive, detailed, and complete Stone's book read Bill Wyman's STONE ALONE. Keith borrows heavily from this book in reciting past events. It also gives the best analysis of what makes the Stones click.
I forgot to mention Ian Stewart who was the soul behind the band. Keith and Mick are just as responsible as Brian for making him step down.
@HaileLoaf Fuck OFF. You wouldn't even know who Keith or Mick were, had it not been for Brian. He STARTED the Rolling Stones. He NAMED them "The Rolling Stones." He hired Mick and Keith. He got their Decca record contract put together. He learned to play approximately 60 different musical instruments. His IQ was 145. He was already playing blues in clubs when Mick was a student at London School of Economics, and Keith was a bum at Sidcup art school. You've been SCHOOLED!
@whatwouldjudydo Haha! and He is DEAD in fact, there carreer more then tripled his existence in the band! Surely that has got to be worth something to the rest of the boys credit. Yeah YEah we all read keiths book you goddamn recital peice.
@whatwouldjudydo - You know I used to feel exactly as you do but after reading Keith's book not so sure. Yes Brian was very talented and instrumental but there are many aspects that seem to be missing in your comment. Stu (Ian Stewart) was really the one that made it all happen in many ways. Brian had lots of issues that ultimately ended his career and life. I don't claim Keith's is the definitive truth but it is worth a read in regards to the early years.
@boulderjames Keith's book deals with Brian with Anita in the back of Keith's mind. It's really sad that he is still so bitter about it 40 years after that he even can't give Brian the credit for forming the band. Stu wouldn't have agreed with Keith revisionism.
Love this song. Was a magical time in England at the time of the music revolution. This music has endured because of the tremendous impact it made on their and subsequent generations. Thanks

@Ge311rgo I just read the new Keith book: Bill, Brian, Taylor, and Ron get no fucking credit. I love Keith, but you'd think he was the Stone were a one man show after reading that book.
It was Brian's band.
Bill made it work.
Taylor gave it life.
Ron saved it.

@SWISSCOLORVISION

GOOD POSTING!

@whatwouldjudydo If only he could write lyrics, didn't beat women and douse himself in horse tranquilizer, coulda had it all

@HaileLoaf Utter BS. Brian was the musician in the band and essential for their unique sound back then.
