I love the idea of systema and think the style has some merit. BUT they kind of lost a little of my respect with the no- touch crap! Other than that, their theories on delivering and receiving punches is very interesting.
@Rangermed no-touch is actually legit, but it is probably the most advanced form of systema out there.... I train at Alex Wilkie's martial arts academy, and he has actually done no-touch moves on me... scary shit...
Sysytema is a JOKE! Designed to con very gullible Americans & Europeans out of money. Look at Porkys (Mikhails) waist line it is the size of the equator. If BS like Systema works get in UFC and prove it! Any UFC fighter would kill this fat bloater in the cage or the street! WAKE UP PEOPLE PLEASE!
I'm not saying the whole style is without merit, looks pretty badass actually but when you put people down without touching them, you're drawing a line I'm not crossing
Some people don't seem to understand tha in a demonstration a guy falls on purpose to prevent injuries. Every martial artist would do the same even if it's the first time getting thrown by this guy.
Any of videos including this guy does not show any of his students actually attacking him. Even if these magic Ki strikes worked (and I'm quite sure they doesen't - look up the Kiai Master and his MMA fight) he still attacks only passively walking or even standing people. Wtf is that shit? You wouldn't even be preapered if a mere thug on the street punched your face with average speed. Open up your eyes people, he's a fake. And most of information given above are false, check this up.
I think Systema has a lot of useful, practical elements to it, but many of these demo partners are flinging themselves around wildly. It doesn't do credit to the technique or Systema as a whole.
Mikhail Ryabko is doing better aikido than 99,9% of the complet aikikai. Great master.
some of the people who give a reaction should understand that in practice you can only show your skill for 60 or 70 % according to what your trainingpartner can cope with.
he works without any contact and the guy falls because of his psyche, he think mikhail will punch him or something like that and to avoid this he moves away.
@out5yder i'd be willing to bet that a lot of that is muscle, sure a lot of fat too, but it would allow him to take punches in the gut and keep moving easily.
I don't get how these moves can be so fluid like this, I am reserving my judgement aside. And I am going to try couple classes in Toronto systemma place.
@nkleeman7 Read my latest response to weneedaguylikethat, dickhead. I'll only add that in a struggle where one fights fair and the other dirty, everything else equal, the dirty one is almost sure to win. I haven't made any claims for myself and I don't even own a car, because I can run faster than one anyway, dickhead.
Yawn. A decent boxer could run circles around, block and easily land combos on on this immovable rock and anyone trying such slow punches. A straight punch is faster than one travelling in an arch. A good puncher will put his hip into the punch and even push from the legs. The power and force behind such a punch would be 10 times more powerful than these soft fisted slaps. I'd rather use an open handed slap to the ear than this bullcrap.
@therealkakkamakkara if he was going full speed he would seriously hurt someone. you can't tell from a glance he has skill? did you ever playfight with someone and just be almost certain they're good?
@weneedaguylikethat I'm certain HE could hurt someone. He's a big middle aged russian with soldier training and confidence. He would pack a punch nomatter how it was thrown. But I think both he and those of lesser mass would be more effective learning a traditional punches. Note, my comment only concerned the claim of added punching/destructive power in these "heavy punches" vis-a-vis a good traditional punch, which I also believe to be quicker and safer, but harder to learn perhaps.
@therealkakkamakkara have u been punched by him, rather try it 1st before commenting? im a normal sized person and i went on a camp with an instructor that was soo small, he did not even look like a fighter. and he explained the method of this style of this punching (which he learned from this master), it uses the weight of the arm as well as the arc to create a large force, kind of like how a hammer works... and i was tapped by the instructor and it felt as tho he was hitting me with batton
@theocp so lets say im a pro mma fighter and i want to improve or an edge on my striking by adding systema into my martial arts, will that help? if so, how? could i keep training muay thai or boxing stance and technique but use the systema punch system? does adding a stance to systema make it less affective or more effective? and is the graound fighting in systema good enough to handle a wrestler and/or jiu jitsu? if so how does it differ? and how does systema breathing help? plz answer
@ThePopeye90 yes (in my own opinion) E.g. when we learn to punch, u can start by just moving forearms, so the only movement is occurring at the elbow (no hips or shoulders, arm must be independent), then use more of the arm muscles and start to include more body. The purpose is to explore and not limit yourself to a few kind of punches. This will make you familiar with many punches allowing you to choose the best solution for any given situation...
@ThePopeye90 we dont have a stance in systema... becuase in systema we must be able to move in any direction at any time and to flow in rhythm to the situation. As soon as your in a stance this influences your movements greatly by making some easy and some harder to do, another reason we train without stance is u might be in a situation where its best not to display your fighting skills or if your injured
@ThePopeye90 we do alot of ground work exercises as well as partner work to make you more comfortable in that sense of fighting. Remember most martial arts are trying to achieve similar results, its the training thats different. Breathing is very important, every movement you do requires oxygen, and being able to efficiently breathe, as well as relax unneeded tension i very important. do 15 pushups with breathing, then 15 without... and you will see the impact breathing has
The 1:57 isn't supposed to be magical force, it's just psychology. If somebody acts like they're going to punch you (or stomp) in the back when you're on all four, you will fall down flat as an instinctual reaction just like you jerk back if someone acts like they are about to punch you in the face. If the guy on the floor had been blindfolded and not seen the movement, it would not have worked. If you keyboard warriors spent any time with a competent instructor you would know about this effect.
If disrespectful people don't want to stop telling that Systema is bullshit, juste leave them in their ignorance, they don't deserve to know about this martial art.
@darkmidert5 systema is bullshit and you would get your ass kicked by a high school wrestler. just because you wasted time and money on this fraud and are stupid enough to believe it doesn't mean others are equally gullible
@darkmidert5 I feel you guys actually, people on the internet say the same about Wing Chun. Many internal side martial arts that develope non-muscular forces are looked down upon by the mass, as they are ignorant. People generally only believe it if they see it with their own eyes.
@Hermylolol There is probably somewhere in US a systema instructor who can kick my ass. A lot of them are Russian military and are pretty good at sambo and/or other REAL combat sports. But, I am not a newby and not gullible enough to believe they used ridiculous systema bullshit on me. I repeat: the ancient Russian martial art never existed. Medieval Russian warriors trained in wrestling and fist fighting. Soviet combat troops trained in REAL hand to hand and called it "rukopashniy boy".
I was curious about this MA and went to a seminar with Martin Wheeler. In a multiple attack drill we were all wrongly focussing on one person at a time. He demonstrated with his eyes closed how to relax and fight multiple opponents. We all had a go and the experience was universal: the harder you go in, the harder you get hit. It was overwhelming and confusing. No Psycho bullshit, just amazing movement and very hard hits. Yes its like dancing - but with bruises.
This UFC fags are commenting on every martial arts video latly.
MMA is about taking competition elements from different MAs and bringing them to the ring. MMA-fighters are highly skilled but there's a huge difference to such combat systems. In MMA a missed counter could mean a broken nose, in RL a missed punch could mean a crushed larynge.
@patiencebear Oh, tell me all about "real life" I think that you don't know shit about real life violence because you think systema and FAT ASS Ryabko are real and effective. Also because u are calling MMA guys fags. In any "real life" situation a well rounded, experienced MMA fighter would demolish any systema theoretician. How do you think wrestling, ju jitsu, boxing, sambo and other REAL combat sports developed? They originated as hand to hand combat training.
@tungusodessa Systema is "real." From the looks of it, though. I think this fat ass would demolish most of the fag crap the UFC has to offer. One shot from Ryabko and it would drop most of the tattooed up wannabe's that comprise most MMA associations. I know because I used to fight until I figured out it's all about physics, not the style or strength. You'd be surprised how quickly you can end a fight with a "Systema" style punch to the mouth. By the way, fighting is not nor should be a sport.
@LD25Delta9 fighting has always been a sport. A left hook is physics. A judo throw is physics. Systema is a fairy tale for gullible idiots. U figured out its all about physics? Well, you are a fucking genius. Did an apple fall on your head? If you really "used to fight" you would know systema is bulshit.
@banishedtoearth fighting has always been a sport?? What planet do u live on?? Try a seminar of systema with this man or one of his students, then commend... I can tell by your reaction that u are a keyboard fighter, because a real "fighter" has respect and u my syber fighter have none...
@banishedtoearth fighting has always been a sport?? What planet do u live on?? Try a seminar of systema with this man or one of his students, then commend... I can tell by your reaction that u are a keyboard fighter, because a real "fighter" has respect and u clearly have none...
@banishedtoearth while i partly agree with that this systema clip goes in the direction of an aikido demo and thus seems to phantasist, you still are stupid for saying fighting has always been sport.fighting became sports in our era, but before, it was a mather of survival and warfare.
@banishedtoearth Yes, systema is bullshit, but snapping your punch in the same manner as systema "teaches" or like the famous "one inch punch," it can more than quintuple the amount of kinetic energy delivered. If you knew anything about fighting, you would know this. What do I care about what you think anyways? It's not like you were the one signing my checks....turd.
@patiencebear is that the same reason aikido doesnt use competition? MMA crushed nose = Aikido crushed ego?? i'm joking a little bit but i'm mostly serious. i'm a "serious beginner" in MA. i practiced at different gyms and on my own for 6 years in addition to doing sports since i was 3. i added track and olympic weightlifting. one time these 2 guys thought they were so brash and tough, and i leveled them with 2 jabs. the scumbag (mark) fell down and couldnt get back up O.wtlftng can be explosive
@weneedaguylikethat i agree with that, especially with the part that weightlifting can and mostly is explosiv. i often loose in dash training to a powerlifter friend of mine on 40yards, even if i get him on longer runs.
If a spectator throws a knife on a ring at a UFC fight, it would not change anything about the fight issue ; in real life it would make a BIG difference.
@franckbenand And what does it have to do with anything presented in the video? I want to see him "perceiving his opponent's intentions" and throwing the invisible strikes while fighting a trained and resisting fighter (i.e. MMA). Otherwise there always will be "what if". and what if he had a knife/a gun/ a tank.
@evonschtolz I understand your point of view. What I tried to say is Systema is not appropriate to fight on a ring. I admit fighters on the ring have advantages, due to their transferable skills to real combat, but actually, it is not permited to kill on the ring, that's the point. Systema is not for doing magic or crush an opponent to obtain victory in competition, but for survive. I met Mikhail Ryabko and there is no magic in his system, only crafty principles and psychologic aspects.
this reminds me of that white guy who claimed to have the 'death touch' where he would knock people out with merely a touch - worked on his students flawlessly but the camera crew and news reporter were strangely immune
What this man does is far from magical. Systema is basically the use of thebodys natural reaction.Imagine how you would fight if you had never seen a boxing match. Yes his attackers are students and moving slow, thats so that no one gets hurt. Mikhail Ryabko is a legend for a reason.
Before you dismiss it, you should know that Mikhail Ryabko's father, who taught him Systema, was one of Stalin's personal bodyguards, and that Mikhail himself became a member of Spetsnaz (Russian special forces) at age 15 and has been ever since. You don't get to that point with pseudo magical bullshit. I have practiced this martial for almost a year, and it is not fake. It's just deceptively simple and clever.
"Sometimes when you embrace the impossible, you discover the truth." I can't be positive, but I'm pretty damn sure no one is brainwashed to believe they are trying to attack him, But really are not. Haha, have you any idea how hard it actually is to brainwash someone? Especially to large amounts of people without scaring them to death, torturing them or threatening them with something. Its harder then you think! Ive never taken systema, but I would never mock this art in particular without proof
They are allowing him to, although they have probably been trained to believe they are attempting to defend against the throws. Maybe he even believes in the ridiculous nonsense he is doing!
very effective practical art and it looks like mikhail has harmony of motion and great control over his inner strength(chi).I could see the buildup of his movements and energy through them and they are quick and fluid which takes a while to learn.A commendable master indeed.
I'm glad so see a system being bad mouthed and it's not the bujinkan. Seriously though I think systema is bad ass, this video is just full of demo stuff.
I hope the majority of all martial artists discard the russian style as fake bullshido crap, that will give me an advantage over them. =) Systema SV for life!
I have a third degree in a Korean art that has grappling , throwing, take downs etc, and at times unable to react....believe what you wish but it makes it no less effective........ Systema made me feel utterly helpless
um no...you clearly see nothing. The technique isn't based on Kinetic energy. You cannot be sure because you haven't met him or Vladamir to feel the technique. Of course it will look fake to you from this video. If I just watched the video, I would think it were fake also. And what he is doing is NOT a no-touch KO. No one is getting knocked out. It's a mere sensitivity drill.
Do you even understand the meaning of the words you're using?!
Sensetivity drill my ass. 1:58 -2:00 - the guy on the floor attempts to raise himself from the floor, when suddently he is pressed down, as if with great force, when Ryabko waves his hand.
compliant fool. that's all.
No principal other then suggestion is at work here, unless you believe in mystical energies. do you?
Kinetic Energy: . When two opponents are in the ready position about to start attacking on another, but not yet moving, they each have potential energy. This potential energy is about to be released when they throw punches and kicks, and when they do this the potential energy that was stored is now being used and thus is kinetic energy. My argument with you is that what is going on here is not SOLELY Based on Kinetic Energy. There are OTHER PRINCIPLES at work.
if you dont really know what systema is, dont talk bullshit about it, ive been at a seminar of mikhail and he hits really hard, some ppl even cryed but it looks fake because the movements of mikhail ryabko almost cant be seen because he nearly move his body and his balance
@urbanner I totally understand you on this issue. Ive been an Aikidoka for awhile now and the techniques if applied right are extremely powerful and work almost too well sometimes. As a former NCAA football player@6'1 and 225lbs I highly doubt im faking the pain and throws but I just always tell people its something that honestly has to be felt to be full appreciated.
the fat actor guy better do some cardio and lay off the all -meat diet, he is ready for a heart attack.. People who believe in that chi energy no-touch crap are usually those soo ready and all to happy to give up personal responsibilty to another . if they are not suckers to the power of suggestion( as in this video) then they are born again christians or hare kristnas. Of course Rybako is talented and experienced but this is going too far.
I know enough about combat arts to discern practical from pretend mumbo jumbo and to recognize suckers like you who are hungry to be assimilated and will too readily give up personal responsibility to have their reality conceptualized by another.
systema isnt just a combat art, it isnt fighting somebody, its eliminating somebody. The russian army (Spetsnaz) is using systema too. All the attacks and moves are based on how ppl fought in the war centuries ago, its based on the natural movement of the body. It looks like mikhail is doing nothing but his movements are so tiny u cant almost see them.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Because Systema is not efective .
Boxing Kickboxing is Verry efective
Systema is not god not variable speed . Not good movement.
But its better then Aikido .Because its a light for many people its a natural movements. Good for woman as self defense not good form man in club fight securities fight VALE TUDO.
except with systema its natural so you can punch someone without warning and throw them to the ground, this isnt the 1920s or the karate ring where people say "put up your dukes" and dance ltill you kick, the systema guy will probably catch it, or absorb the blow, then knock you to the ground. can people box on the ground? NO
One former Russian Special Forces soldier who teaches systema mentioned that it has been adopted by other western special forces units due to it being extremely effective.
I love the idea of systema and think the style has some merit. BUT they kind of lost a little of my respect with the no- touch crap! Other than that, their theories on delivering and receiving punches is very interesting.

In MMA a missed counter could mean a broken nose, in RL a missed punch could mean a crushed larynge.
patiencebear 1 year ago 31
@patiencebear Oh, tell me all about "real life" I think that you don't know shit about real life violence because you think systema and FAT ASS Ryabko are real and effective. Also because u are calling MMA guys fags. In any "real life" situation a well rounded, experienced MMA fighter would demolish any systema theoretician. How do you think wrestling, ju jitsu, boxing, sambo and other REAL combat sports developed? They originated as hand to hand combat training.
tungusodessa 1 year ago
@tungusodessa Systema is "real." From the looks of it, though. I think this fat ass would demolish most of the fag crap the UFC has to offer. One shot from Ryabko and it would drop most of the tattooed up wannabe's that comprise most MMA associations. I know because I used to fight until I figured out it's all about physics, not the style or strength. You'd be surprised how quickly you can end a fight with a "Systema" style punch to the mouth. By the way, fighting is not nor should be a sport.
LD25Delta9 1 year ago
@LD25Delta9 fighting has always been a sport. A left hook is physics. A judo throw is physics. Systema is a fairy tale for gullible idiots. U figured out its all about physics? Well, you are a fucking genius. Did an apple fall on your head? If you really "used to fight" you would know systema is bulshit.

@banishedtoearth fighting has always been a sport?? What planet do u live on?? Try a seminar of systema with this man or one of his students, then commend... I can tell by your reaction that u are a keyboard fighter, because a real "fighter" has respect and u my syber fighter have none...

melchiordani 11 months ago
@banishedtoearth while i partly agree with that this systema clip goes in the direction of an aikido demo and thus seems to phantasist, you still are stupid for saying fighting has always been sport.fighting became sports in our era, but before, it was a mather of survival and warfare.
laokon 10 months ago
@banishedtoearth Yes, systema is bullshit, but snapping your punch in the same manner as systema "teaches" or like the famous "one inch punch," it can more than quintuple the amount of kinetic energy delivered. If you knew anything about fighting, you would know this. What do I care about what you think anyways? It's not like you were the one signing my checks....turd.
LD25Delta9 10 months ago
@patiencebear is that the same reason aikido doesnt use competition? MMA crushed nose = Aikido crushed ego?? i'm joking a little bit but i'm mostly serious. i'm a "serious beginner" in MA. i practiced at different gyms and on my own for 6 years in addition to doing sports since i was 3. i added track and olympic weightlifting. one time these 2 guys thought they were so brash and tough, and i leveled them with 2 jabs. the scumbag (mark) fell down and couldnt get back up O.wtlftng can be explosive
weneedaguylikethat 8 months ago
@weneedaguylikethat i agree with that, especially with the part that weightlifting can and mostly is explosiv. i often loose in dash training to a powerlifter friend of mine on 40yards, even if i get him on longer runs.

If a spectator throws a knife on a ring at a UFC fight, it would not change anything about the fight issue ; in real life it would make a BIG difference.
franckbenand 1 year ago
@franckbenand And what does it have to do with anything presented in the video? I want to see him "perceiving his opponent's intentions" and throwing the invisible strikes while fighting a trained and resisting fighter (i.e. MMA). Otherwise there always will be "what if". and what if he had a knife/a gun/ a tank.
evonschtolz 1 year ago
@evonschtolz I understand your point of view. What I tried to say is Systema is not appropriate to fight on a ring. I admit fighters on the ring have advantages, due to their transferable skills to real combat, but actually, it is not permited to kill on the ring, that's the point. Systema is not for doing magic or crush an opponent to obtain victory in competition, but for survive. I met Mikhail Ryabko and there is no magic in his system, only crafty principles and psychologic aspects.

What this man does is far from magical. Systema is basically the use of thebodys natural reaction.Imagine how you would fight if you had never seen a boxing match. Yes his attackers are students and moving slow, thats so that no one gets hurt. Mikhail Ryabko is a legend for a reason.

I wonder how people keep on believing in this crappy circus stuff. They just make fun of you. Distrust, people, distrust.
santafuria2 1 year ago
Before you dismiss it, you should know that Mikhail Ryabko's father, who taught him Systema, was one of Stalin's personal bodyguards, and that Mikhail himself became a member of Spetsnaz (Russian special forces) at age 15 and has been ever since. You don't get to that point with pseudo magical bullshit. I have practiced this martial for almost a year, and it is not fake. It's just deceptively simple and clever.

Its harder then you think! Ive never taken systema, but I would never mock this art in particular without proof

hi man, is mikail really throwing people like that or they allowing him too?
israelifaggot 2 years ago
Do you mean are they faking it? No, they are not.
This vid is probably 6 or 7 years old, but I recognize the majority of these guys to be senior instructors.
Mikhail wouldn't use an inexperienced practicioner with those throws and that is why it can look staged.
Although they don't know exactly what sort of movement he will use, they are well trained to deal with whatever's coming.
It's all about human bio-mechanics.
In Systema you learn how to properly absorb most any attack.
ricadrew 2 years ago
They are allowing him to, although they have probably been trained to believe they are attempting to defend against the throws. Maybe he even believes in the ridiculous nonsense he is doing!

very effective practical art and it looks like mikhail has harmony of motion and great control over his inner strength(chi).I could see the buildup of his movements and energy through them and they are quick and fluid which takes a while to learn.A commendable master indeed.
LordMichael77 2 years ago
look on how the opponents attack this person (who is obviously near to a heart-attack): in slow motion, awaiting his reactions. that's useless.
thecrusader2007 2 years ago
The reason they attack like that is most likely because he was showing the moves to onlookers.
Isosyth 2 years ago
@thecrusader2007 they are excersizes, do you learn moves at full speed? no. Especially when he is first teaching his students.

so you've tried it right? Or have you just watched some video clips? I'm guessing the second.
talkfan 2 years ago 12
This argument is null - I clearly see the ukes jumping, twisting and collapsing by themselves.
Want to know how can I be 100% sure?
No kinetic linking.
What about 1:55 - 2:00? do YOU believe Ryabko can perform no-touch-KO's on someone who NOT systema affiliated?
Fraud.
RonnySayfan 2 years ago
um no...you clearly see nothing. It's a mere sensitivity drill.
talkfan 2 years ago
"The technique isn't based on kinetic energy".

There are OTHER PRINCIPLES at work.
talkfan 2 years ago
They all fall to the floor on purpose, doesn't even touch most of them, esp. at 1:05. Complete joke.
MilesEd 2 years ago
if you dont really know what systema is, dont talk bullshit about it, ive been at a seminar of mikhail and he hits really hard, some ppl even cryed but it looks fake because the movements of mikhail ryabko almost cant be seen because he nearly move his body and his balance
urbanner 2 years ago
@urbanner I totally understand you on this issue. Ive been an Aikidoka for awhile now and the techniques if applied right are extremely powerful and work almost too well sometimes. As a former NCAA football player@6'1 and 225lbs I highly doubt im faking the pain and throws but I just always tell people its something that honestly has to be felt to be full appreciated.
PARR53 2 years ago
@urbanner
the fat actor guy better do some cardio and lay off the all -meat diet, he is ready for a heart attack.. People who believe in that chi energy no-touch crap are usually those soo ready and all to happy to give up personal responsibilty to another . if they are not suckers to the power of suggestion( as in this video) then they are born again christians or hare kristnas. Of course Rybako is talented and experienced but this is going too far.
flancka 2 years ago
you obviously dont really know much about systema
urbanner 2 years ago
I know enough about combat arts to discern practical from pretend mumbo jumbo and to recognize suckers like you who are hungry to be assimilated and will too readily give up personal responsibility to have their reality conceptualized by another.
flancka 2 years ago
systema isnt just a combat art, it isnt fighting somebody, its eliminating somebody. The russian army (Spetsnaz) is using systema too. All the attacks and moves are based on how ppl fought in the war centuries ago, its based on the natural movement of the body. It looks like mikhail is doing nothing but his movements are so tiny u cant almost see them.

except with systema its natural so you can punch someone without warning and throw them to the ground, this isnt the 1920s or the karate ring where people say "put up your dukes" and dance ltill you kick, the systema guy will probably catch it, or absorb the blow, then knock you to the ground. can people box on the ground? NO
