My point being that at the time the story about the leviathan was written, the sheep herders in the middle east where lucky to have seen even a small whale... and they had no concept of any entity like the kraken, if they had, im sure it would have found its way into the bible too.

And i'm pretty sure there can be found writings that say the kraken is immortal too, and as far as i am concerned, just as valid.
