i'm confused i'm not a bass player but is that how one would normally hold their bow? becuase that's not the same for cello.

Yes, he's playing with a German bow and that's how they are held.

@charlu2100 there is german bow and french bow for the double bass . I forget which one , bt one is hold this way , the other one is hold the same way as cello .

@CHOCOMINTx3 this is a german bow. its held more like a cup and has a bigger, i think frog is the correct term for it, the french is held like a cello bow.

Move the bow at a constant speed. If you need to change bow speed, change it at a much slower pace since it is very obvious hearing it and seeing it; the sudden dynamic changes due to this are quite jarring. I sometimes have the same problems. Otherwise, it's pretty good.

It's not constant speed he needs. It is bow distribution that is lacking.
