Also, this story encourages Christianity because of the act of prayer, to give him strength, and at the end of the story, when he preaches to the class. It glorifies Christianity and God.

I mean no offence when I say this.. There's more important things in this world then religion - ok religion gives people hope, but is hope enough?

I'm not saying that religion is to blame for what's happening in this world, and I personally believe everything happens for a reason, but religion doesn't have much point.

I'm agnostic - I'm open to the whole concept of religion, but from the world I've grown up in, I have no reason to have such faith in something that can't be proven. Thanks.

Thou shalt not bear false witness. This story is an Urban Legend. USC has had to put a message on their website because of all the e-mails they got in regards to this FALSE story. The least you could do is edit out the LIE that this really happened at USC. Present it as FABLE with a message, don't LIE and say this is true when it's NOT. Funny how some people want the gov't to post the 10 C's on gov't property, but they don't want to follow the 10 C's.

I think a lot of people believe it's true, so they're not lying. I'm not sure if it's true or not, but I have my suspicions simply because no respectable professor would spend an entire semester trying to disprove the existence of God. I'm sure if he did that for twenty years, faculty would have pulled him aside and told him to watch it, because that's kind of uncool and a waste of a good philosophy class.
