I remember clearly when I saw her on tv at the olympics from 1980, I could not get enough of this couple. The quadripple split twist is still etched in my memory forever as is her style and performance under such great presure for her country at these games.

If there was ever a skater's memory that will be with me forever, its her and the partners she had. 3 time olympic pairs champion, you rule Irina. However T and D dance were robbed of the same acheivement.

did she have more than one partner? Or is just because she was the dominant the reason why its a tribute for only her alone?

@Ardenis9 The montage clearly shows she had two different partners. Her first was Alexei Ulanov with whom she won all titles from 1969 - 1972. But he fell in love with Ludmilla Smirnova - the blonde lady shown at 1:56. That's why she cried at the end of her 1972 Worlds LP. She then partnered with Alexander Zaitsev who she married in 1975, to win everything from 1973 - 1980, apart from 1979 when she didn't compete due to the birth of their first baby Sasha.

Чемпионка по литрболу. Удивительно, как столько алкоголя в эту лилипутку влазит. Там бухлу вроде и литься некуда, а она "жрёт, как бегемот"

Thanks so much for putting this together. I've always loved Rodnina, remembering her first World's in 8th grade and her '80 gold medal right before my husband and I married. She's awesome. Anyone know what she's doing now? I know she was coaching@Lake Arrowhead for awhile but that was some time ago.

i think she got remarried and lives in both the us and russia.They were an awesome skating pair.She was the more dominant of the two.RUSSIAN PAIRS FIGURE SKATING ONE WORD....DYNASTY
