The hang doesn't sound nice played like that, in my humble opinion. The player obviously has a good sense of rhythem, I'm sure he'd be good on a drum. But the hang is no drum. It is in fact an instrument with a lot of subtleties, which are not at all expressed playing it like this. Also, the hang is at serious risk of being detuned by playing it too forcefully.

@oeterke good point man, i'm actually not playing very hard as far as striking the drum, really quick in and out with the pad of my finger, doesn't take much pressure to get a big sound from the hang. That being said I did have to play louder than usual at the festivals in order to be heard, many subtleties is correct something that can't be heard within the confusion and noise of a setting such as this. Hang drums are wicked expensive, and they only make a few every year. Although I heard they are making knock-offs now. But as I understand they are still about $800. The real ones are thousands.
