Was Filianoti ill? If not his singing is appaling!! The contrast to Kurzak's wonderful Gilda is so obvious!

I am not sure if he was ill although his intonation troubles are apparent. This frequent under-the-tone voice makes his legato phrases like coal mining. Kurzak`s beautiful effortles singing should be matched more carefully in my opinion.

I heard him last night covering for Villazon in the MET broadcast of Lucia, he was amazing. It was quite funny....Netrebko was upstaged by the understudy Edgardo!!
