And to disobey, has harsh punishments...makes more sense to just go than to disobey. They feel love, but in the midst of a war...it's a battlefield and nothing more. The boyfriend of a very good friend of my is with the army in Kosovo. For 9 months. She is very sad and afraid, but noone seems to get that, they are like: it`s his choice, he didn`t have to. And they are nearly no other soldiers that did the same, so she`s really lonely.
My best friend is being deployed to Afghanistan next month (November 2010). He is on leave right now and leaves soon. I'm already wishing he will come home.

my boyfriend will be joining the military serivce and 3 or 4 years and even though i get worried, i know hes doing what he wants to do and what he loves. i pray that ever soldier comes home safe to their loved ones. im proud for what these soldiers are doing for us <3

nothing was a better feeling coming home and getting off that airplane in the U.S. and having random strangers welcoming us and shaking our hands. A great feeling that there are people out there that take their time to welcome us home.

@sandmansea Not everyone signed up to join the military just so they could go to war, actually most didn't. So it wasn't most of their choices. And to disobey, has harsh punishments...makes more sense to just go than to disobey. They feel love, but in the midst of a war...it's a battlefield and nothing more. When you are staring into the eyes of your enemy, it's either him or you. With your logic, you are also calling your own soldiers cowards. And even if they chose to go, that isn't a coward.

I hate when people say that the troops had a choice to join. So they shouldn't complain. Are you Going to go join?! NO! So they have chosen to leave their family for not only us americans but for the dumbasses who are to lazy to fight. If they didnt join freely then we wouldnt have a army and there for the goverment would then impose DRAFTING. Which means YOUR ass is going to be out there. @Irishslave55 You should see how it is were I live. they can`t chose, so they go to doctors and psychiatristsfor getting an attentation.They don`t have to fight, just trainig or civilian service, they don`t do it.
The boyfriend of a very good friend of my is with the army in Kosovo. For 9 months. She is very sad and afraid, but noone seems to get that, they are like: it`s his choice, he didn`t have to. And they are nearly no other soldiers that did the same, so she`s really lonely.

I grew up military, and married into the military also. They do so much, not just the deployment, but the long hours of working to get ready to deploy befor they leave. I have so much respect for the military. I love you all!!!!
