The best use for this is as a college school note-taking device. Screen's big enough to see, keyboard is big enough to type, and item is cheap enough to bang up or not care too much if it's stolen. I would rather carry this in my bookbag at college than a real laptop. Get home, transfer my work onto a real PC. As long as it has Pocket Word (WinCE's MS Word) you can write up your papers on it, and Pocket Excel can help with math. Other than that, I'd ignore it.

I am not saying this because other laptops have state of the art technology or up-to-date, but because this netbook is by far the WORST there is. You have to admit it. And for $99? First off this is a great review. You've eliminated much off the mystery in such a low cost notebook! I certainly wouldn't expect the holy grail in such a low cost product. Probably a great thing for a kids. They have a tendency to learn to get around technology's like this.

I warn people who are looking at the netbook that 100% of the ones I have sold have been returned. This netbook is a joke i mean 156 mb of ram and using sd as storage is laughable, not to mention even though I still have 20/20 vision I cant read the screen (I looked at one of the ones that was returned to the store)

I had this smartbook and it really wasn't worth it with Windows CE. I just bought another smartbook like this that comes with Android preinstalled and it's MUCH better :) It's the same smartbook as this but with the CRAIG name and not Sylvania's name on it. CRAIG"s version of this smartbook comes with 256ram and Android 2.2 preinstalled. I got mine at Rite Aid for $89. I also heard that it's available at CVS. If you get this smartbook get it with Android. You'll be able to do more with it ^_-

Don't buy this. Get a VeiwSonic G-Tablet instead. Similar price, but fast dual-core processor, 16GB of RAM, and a modern OS. This product is comparable to the NEC MobilePro 900, a good HPC in its day, but that was more than 10 years ago. It is mind boggling that CVS even stocks this antiquated device. Even more bizarre is that it is even currently being manufactured. If you buy this you will regret it.

@dallase1 what i done was rather than buy new, i got a used hp laptop that was shy a couple parts. 65 in so for but i'm still shy a battery and ebay has those for $25ish $29 for the 9 cell version (oem is 6 cell). my neice has one and i can vouch that ce is a joke. i wish they'd let me put somthing better on it for her. storage is flash on the board. you want more storage, a usb flash drive would do or exteranal hard drive. i had a cheapo media player and gave it away. it sucked..

Just bought one for my daughter at CVS sale $69.00 08/05/11 Everything is updated. Flash version is better, window CE seems better. It works very well. It function exactly like a notebook PC. (No disc drive) Which is fine for my 10 year old. I say BUY! For the money, It's very nice!

I got one the other day and I have to say, I was rather disappointed. The screen, keyboard, and track pad are all VERY small, even for me. The operating system and Internet are very slow. It can't open a lot of programs. The memory capacity is very small. Okay for first time laptop/netbookers but spending an extra $100-$150 is a better option if you want a good laptop/netbook for browsing the web, ect.
