I never liked Will/Lyra; I wish Pullman had thought of making Lyra and Roger the main couple for his dark material's stories-it would have been a major improvement. Also, if he HAD to kill off Roger, I don't see why he couldn't have just paired Lyra up with Billy Costa-or even Billy's older brother, as weird as that might have been. Even Lyra/Tony would have been better than Lyra/Will!
