  • A truly fine singer - but I detest the backing music. That electronic organ, or synthesizer or whatever it is, cheapens the whole song. A mandolin would have been more suitable.

  • @irateofwatford I guess a bit of variety won't hurt. I find the backing very nice. Thanks for your comment

  • @plcar Hawnhekk intellghu muzika biss u mhux politika u ma narahiex prudenti li tpoggi kumment bhal dan fuq dan ic-channel.

    Ron!

  • That music is very typical Maltese folklore style music and I think even foreigners seem to enjoy it.

    Glad you liked it Ron.

  • Brilliant song,I love Il Budai ,he was such a talented gentleman.

    Paintings are excellent,showing various

parts of Malta"s way of life.

    Thank you Alfred.

  • Frans was talented and had a heart of gold. What I liked a lot in him was that you could talk about any subject and he seemed to be very versed in everything one brings up. Jasmine and I missed him a lot.

  • Alfred,Frans is missed by the vast majority of the Maltese population as well as us Expats that enjoyed his talents from afar.

  • He is John but especially by those who knew him personally. He had such a nice gentel character.

  • Very nice slides and song too i just post it in fb.Jane.

  • Thanks Jane. Il-Budaj was great.

  • That was quite a popular tune in my day. One version was Lanca gejja u ohra sejra, which was adapted unofficially by the SRUM - students of the Royal University of Malta with words like Ir-Rettur bil pipa f'halqu ifottina kull mument. Ah those were the good old days - I remember them well

    tom

  • Yes, good old days. There were several version of lyrics used for this song. Thanks Tom

  • It's a Maltese folkloristic song and it's very lovely.

    Very beautiful pictures also.

    Thank you Jasmine and Alfred.

  • Thank you Jasmine for your comment. Frans was a very nice person besides being a singer, writer, sculptor and a painter.
