i got the hd collection for xbox, been playing the hell out of peace walker, its a great game love the online play too.

I never played portable ops because i never owned a psp, anyone know of any good emulators for windows 7?

@skilo1983 i think this one"jpcsp1948_windowsx86" can work in windows 7 computers. also you need java 32 or 64 bits to make it run. and also you got to have a pretty bad ass computer to run it, mine sucks and its reaaaally reaaaally slow

This game is SO MUCH BETTER than Peace Walker...PW's story wasn't MGS...but Portable Ops felt like an MGS, with the intensity and intrigue, suspense and ambiance, atmosphere. It was great.

@WorldOfSnakes And Portable Ops shed much more light on the story of MGS, much more than Peace Walker. Also the character development and each character's backstory in Portable Ops was freaking amazing, just like an MGS game. Oh and let's not start to talk about the boss battles of Peace Walker:)

@WorldOfSnakes not to mention you can crawl on portable ops :D i havent played it yet, but i did play peace walker, fun...but it felt as it is, a background story of big boss getting started and outer heaven, which was pretty fun but not really shocking or anything...we all knew outer heaven was coming :p but the critical part was...you cant crawl! metal gear without crawling is no metal gear! darn you kojima!

After watching this game I'm starting to realize more and more why Big Boss is so damn awesome. He's a hell of a lot smarter than Solid, Liquid, or Solidus, and has a fine personality to go along with his badassery. I don't think I've ever encountered such a likeable character in all of gaming.

@navi1007 the learning curve is pretty high. I bought this on psn 2 or 3 years ago, and I just finished it a couple of weeks ago. It takes awhile to master it. Once you master the controls and the mechanic, it's all sweet from there. Master the L or lock on trigger. That's your friend against boss fight.

I am probably in the minority but I really wish they would remake Portable Ops with the better controls of Peace Walker.

Truth be told, I like Portable Ops storyline in general better than that of Peace Walker with the exception of Null, I honestly think the 'connection' to MG2 SS/MGS was not necessary.

I just bought this game and even though I re-ajusted the controls, I still don't like them a lot. They're somewhat stiff and when I was changing the controls, there weren't enough buttons and options for the choices I wanted, however with Peace Walker it was perfect.

Although I like Snake, I'm not entirely sure I understand or agree with his views on what it is to be a soldier. Sure politics are fickle, but a soldier not having feelings about justice? I don't agree with that. When there are people killing your comrades and countrymen, all for the sake of religion, tell me that you don't feel anything!

Right and wrong are easy to discern, just as long as you haven't become so desensitized to killing that you can't see the difference anymore.

@herofromthedark That was Snake' misinterpretation of the Boss' will. He even said that he doesn't understand what she meant by "prove your loyalty as a soldier."

This leads him to see her sacrifice as a betrayal, as shown in PW, when he throws the Boss' bandanna into the ocean, and finally accepts the title of "Big Boss." This is the true beginning of Big Boss' downfall, where he eventually becomes just like Gene.

It's not until the end of MGS4 when he realizes what she meant.

I HATE the cartoon panel cut-scenes. Just because it's PSP they went for this instead of full 3D? It looks like a phone game

Daxter, GOW, GTA, Dead Head Fred, Tomb Raider, etc all have managed cool 3D cutscenes PLUS be big, long games

Just lazy imho. The whole point of Metal Gear is the cinematic flair (fuck me just watch the intro to Metal Gear Solid 2), and this (and also Peacewalker) lose all that charm !!! I love the PSP but this is shit
