you have to commit to this album in it's entirety to appreciate it. so much more than drug addled messing around going on here. This is stream of consciousness recordings in tune with the good stuff. Headphones kinda stuff start to finish.
I wonder if the argument can be made that he would have created this music, junk or no junk, because ultimately innate talent exists regardless of the drugs one ingests. What the heroin might have done for him is make him less self-conscious and more willing to put out something that he ordinarily would have left in the vaults.....I find it fascinating (and wish it was still in print).
The only song John recorded after he left the Chili's for the 1st time was Running Away Into You. The rest of this album was recorded while he was still in the Chili's.
this music make so so........i cant describe it in words. you must make your image for johns songs......he is more than genius,,,he is revolutionary in music!!!!
Every time I listen to this album I cry. It's my favorite. Having issues with drug abuse myself, I can really feel Johns pain and I can tell how fucked up his life was whenever I listen to Niandra Lades. It's so raw and real. Although I'm really glad he's kicked his drug addictions, I think his music was at it's best when he was a junky. I still really love his music though.
@TheZenful he decided not to make songs organized, it was all left behind for this album and that's why its so good. can't say anything is better or worse when its all opinion, for me it depends on the mood i'm in for what i listen to.
This film is still unreleased. The picture we see on the front and back cover of Niandra Lades is a pictures from the movie. what are you talking about
i would have to say the empyrean and niandra lades are his two deepest albums, with a prominant focus on the lyrics and meanings... especially empyrean. not to say any of his other albums arent good, because their all phenominal! especially from the sounds inside.. ;)
I think those "kids" is actually Toni Oswald's voice speeded up: I read somewhere she sang in two or three of these song..nothing to to with john's amazing voice, of course XD

The guitar solos sound like some one mechanically tuning/balancing a brain.

perhaps one of the best songs off the album in my opinion. the part right after "keep going... dont stop" is so beautiful. it really moves me.

his girlfriend while the 90`s.
This film is still unreleased. The picture we see on the front and back cover of Niandra Lades is a pictures from the movie.
By the way, John also recorded an album with Emily in 2007 but it is still unreleased.
