  • Origins of breakdancing!

  • While primitive tribal people have alot have to deal with things that are a lot harder then we have to deal with it seems we as well have really hard stuff we have to deal with that they dont have to worry about. So in some ways tribal life can be easier then first world modern life while same ways it can be harder at the same time. Interesting how its both:P

  • AFRICA= origin of everything.........originality

  • dude were is simba and the tree of life

    -buhda

  • so sick.. SOO FUCKING SICK!... love african culture!!

  • They sound like they're free styling and bobbing to the beat. Lol

  • I met the Masai in the summer of 2010. These people are so wonderful, so proud. This was the best day of my life. Now I have a tattoo of them.

  • why only black people have that voice? sounds graeater than any other voices from other races

  • Oh Almighty God! This is simple musical beauty!

  • O ok. I understand. Thank you charlie and candacen. :-)

  • blacks in america do this too..we gather round and spit verses while sumbody else makes the beat

  • Music without any instruments! God!!

  • What are they singing about?

  • they sound together like an interesting musical instrument

    melikes!

  • @HeoNo : and then at the end, they started break'n

  • @HeoNo : I thought the same thing...they're freestyling in a cipher.

  • lindos muito belo queria ser dai nascer ai amo isso tudo

  • For sure my favourite video on youtube. I keep on looking it up every now and then. I'm proud of still having beautiful people like them on this beautiful earth.

  • beautyfull background.

  • THANK YOU FOR SHARING ! I LOVE THIS VIDEO . MASAI ARE BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE.

  • Proud to be Kenyan :)

  • i often laugh about people who just think all africans live in the bush

  • I am a white American and even I love these people and their cultural music! The way it was MEANT to be! I love tribal music of all kinds!

  • Beautiful! Every time I watch something about the African culture I feel so close to my ancestors. Hope one day I can have enough money to make an extensive 4-month trip to this precious country!

  • Savages please explain.

  • Savages

  • @uryakant919

You are prejudiced and you don't have culture or tradition....You are a lost case, how dare you. Look first in the mirror and then maybe you can talk about others. What were you looking for? To see your own reflection ?

  • The person who called these beautiful people``hoes`` is a hate mongering fool. What goes around comes around asshole Buggie 123.You are the HOE!!!

  • @buggie123 you are very ignorant black people from all over the world are very beautiful.....And i think the only hoe on here is YOU!!!!!! get it together because I see you don't have common sense!!!!

  • I visited a Maasai tribe in West Kilimanjaro land, but the whole time I was there, I felt bad. Despite how kind the girls who were the same age as me were, despite the feelings of equality, I felt like I shouldn't be there. I felt like I was part of the destruction.

But we can't look at it that way. There are Maasai people who work in Dar es Salaam, and live in their home tribe. It's their heritage. That doesn't mean that they're corrupted, it's just them adapting to the world around them.

  • Beautiful!

  • Love this video! Keep your culture. Well done.

    Your Nigerian sister :D

  • this is where they took all their ideas from that movie avatar. and native americans. white ppl r so hateful that they cant even admit to their own feelings

  • @smukase not all white people... just saying.

  • @smukase and i still say u r not being honest. if i asked u to think in the next second what s the first thing u think of when u see an african, what wud u say? of course by now u have read thru this question and u dont have to answer cuz u will come up with sum more dishonest things. my guess wud be the skincolor. see the mistake white ppl made was to believe that everyone else is different from them, and not the other way round. that hateful arrogance is what will get u to hate each other also

  • the massai are some of the last free people on earth

  • most braveist human group

    Great respect from Saudi Arabia

  • 7 beliebers watched this video

  • dats cool as hell seen...black is where its at sight

  • are they beatboxing?

  • wow no se porque me gusta esto... la eh escuchado varias veces... me gusta

  • It's nice that you can embrace tribalism and all its ideals, However, and granted, their ways have appeal, Ask yourself,. WHAT is THEIR lifespan? Hmm? Your repugnance of " Modernism " is misplaced. The Old Gods are false and give nothing. Think about it. Did that wooden statue or elusive God/Goddess ever grant your wishes? AND, might want to take a CLOSE look at the " Continuity" of those tribal states and what they are doing to each other,. Hmm, like wiping each other out.

  • @GVBiggs524. It is better to have a shorter life span than drop bombs on innocent people, pollute the air, water and earth, kill off thousands of animals, eat genetically modified food, eat excessively, have sex excessively, do drugs excessively, what has christianity done for the world? The end is near for the human race, not because Jesus is coming from the sky but because our planet is gonna wipe us out for living out of tune with her. By trying to kill and control her, we have killed ourself

  • @PDRO4LYFE I agree that a shorter life span is preferable over committing such atrocities. I'd like to point out, though, that Christianity is not to blame for these things: in fact, the Holy Bible either discourages or outright prohibits them all! Christianity is not to blame for the horrid abuse of our world and the degradation of humanity; but there are those who inaccurately and hypocritically call themselves "Christians" that are responsible.

  • @truetruth77 fair enough

  • @GVBiggs524 I love Jesus Christ and follow Him as best as I can, but...

What is the relevance of lifespan to your argument? Christians die young all of the time.

  • Le christianisme fait chier tout le monde

  • they.can.dunk.too..

  • I went to Kenya in 2009 and was able to go into a masai tribe community. It was so cool to hear how they use their voices and the agility and height they could reach in their jumping! Definitely a blessing!

  • Dubstep for africans :P

  • yay i am masai....

  • no wonder this people are ,jumping every second.

  • the one in the middle is cute

  • maasais scare meh...

  • BIG UP MY PEOPLE BLACK PEOPLE ARE SO SPECIAL AND DIVERSE AND TALENTED ALL OVER THE UNIVERSE...AHHHHH I JUST LOVE MY RACE..

  • @saneike25 Though I'm white (really doesn't matter). I'm so inspired and affected by your culture, your roots are just so beautiful and precious.. Humanity needs to be taught in showing respect and sharing LOVE!

  • I love this. It is so hypnotic....it calls my very soul. So glad to be able to embrace and appreciate--no fear, here!

  • These Massai kill lions with their spears. They surround the lion(s) and when it attacks they lay down and put the butt end of the spear into the ground and the lion impales itself on the spear. If you have ever seen how gigantic a big lion is and the size of its teeth/claws/muscles you would not believe these men can kill them. Quite frequently these men are also killed but does that stop them? NO !!! and I admire them so much.

  • @meadowlarkable Wow that is really amazing! I would be so scared!!!! These people are so amazing!

  • wonder, thanks for posting. interesting

  • I wish I knew what they were singing...

  • what are they singing about? they seem pretty serious about it, why do they jump? i was wondering, i don't know much about these people. they sounded wicked cool though...

  • Who won the freestyle battle

    LoL

  • @Juliette, for me it's not just a lump of meat, a wart, but a human being, vulnerable and due the utmost protection; by the way, the word 'foetus' means 'the delicate one'

  • impressive culture but cruel to women and barbaric with the female mutilation; we, on the other hand, abort a million babies a year

  • @1Urganda1 you can't abort babies, you can abort foetus' however.

  • brave massai ,thanks for sharing.

  • God bless you Loita Maasai. Kaara Olayioni loinkiri inyi.

Great song na muendelee hivyo. God bless the Maasai community. You ruled East Africa for close 300 years and stopped slave traders taking inland tribes as slaves. You protected many tribes from slavery. Ashe oleng ilayiok lang.

  • SO Powerful....

  • what is this for? is it a prayer?

  • That's just fantastic...

  • masai = sexy

  • beautiful..powerful

  • this is a great video! loved the beat.if you liked it you might be interested in the Maasai Music Project... we have some videos up and we're on facebook, we would really love the support!

  • they should be a basketball players..

    nice video...

  • I like the jumping dances, where they jump in the air. Its so astounding.

  • if you have $350 lying around, you can go to "African Ancestry" and find out your actual origins. but really anytime a Black person escapes this american captivity and returns to anywhere in Africa, it's a move toward redemption.

  • @onamemmet yeah, and you'll be moving back to the tribes that sold your ancestors in the first place. so, watch your back when you get there. we all come from tribal life and most of us have some conquering or enslavement in our history. worry more about the global enslavement grid being installed right now and less about things in the past that you cannot change.

  • I love the beat

  • I could not dream in been in such a beatufull place.

  • Lion hunters woriors, the true african woriors since 10000 B.C

  • beauty and full pure splender

  • Gosh this culture is so beautiful and unblemished. It makes me hurt to be African American.

  • @niqaballday it's never too late to go back. it's not always the easiest move, but i promise you, that's the healing.

  • It's hard to go back, without a point of origin.

  • @niqaballday genetic testing is the only way to be precise really. Its expensive, and even then, many african tribes were completely wiped out at certain points during the trade and during the turn of the century...their particular blood lines may no longer be in africa unless someone back in the 1700 and 1800s collected samples before the trade! Its hit or miss really.

  • @niqaballday You are not blemished! I bet you are lovely. No real reason you can't make the things that make you happy apart of your life now;

  • @niqaballday why?

  • @niqaballday You're not American, you're an African who's family was enslaved here. Long live Africa

  • only after the last tree has been cut down.....

only after the last river has been poisened.....

only after the last fish has been caught......

only then will you find that money cannot be eaten.....

  • @menomz17

Is this a translation of the song?

  • Interesting, I thought only certain Asians and Innuits were the only ones who sung in the style of "throat singing". Cool video.

  • Just because its something you don't understand DOES NOT make it "Retarded" if you don't have the respect to keep an open mind then please don't comment.

  • Its sad when people form another culture who have doing what they have been since the dawn of time are trying to show us there ways are looked down upon by ignorant tools whose lives revolve around the magical talking box that tells them what to wear, who to listen to, and what to think, and are to brain washed to understand that this is a beautiful thing that has been going on since man has stood upright.

  • man, i love africa god bless the mother land from a brother from bamako mali.

  • i love how they are all so comfortable with each other, and while it is meaningful to them they are able to have fun and be themselves, contrasting with some of the Western traditions we have were they are strick and rigid and you have to put up a front, you have to be perfect and if you make a mistake then you are frowned upon etc etc

  • sooo cool

  • fuck u u racist bitch

  • world is one, i hope not to harm with my existance, only thing I can do...

  • love it, thank you for sharing..

  • there preying to god the same god of the native american the hebrew of old time

  • robe of jesus Amos 9:7 Are you not as children of the Ethiopians unto me, O children of Israel ? race don't matter if you go to tribes like this in peace they will adopt you just like native americans

  • robe of jesus Amos 9:7 Are you not as children of the Ethiopians unto me, O children of Israel ?

  • I love this!!!

  • i live with them and what i saw really hurt my feeling...our Gov. from around the world they should leave them alone. let this people live the way the been leaving i hate the gov. they try to teach them our life style which sucks..they dont care abt money job gas..they have awesome life into the wild..where they love being so plz leave them alone.....

  • love it. i grew up among the maasai, and I've to say that they are the most wonderful people you'd ever want to know. funny, smart, resourceful, patient, you name it. the swing of the locks onto the other muran at 4:55 is synonymous to a compliment to the guy getting swiped. the backdrop is amazing though...this must have been in Tanzania right?

  • To the person saying they'd be scared to meet a Maasai on the street, they are some of the kindest people you'll ever meet! Just don't get on their bad side haha. Anyway, in Kenya they used to be ridiculed for hanging on to their old ways and traditions but now they are admired for that! Many other tribes abandoned their cultures during colonialism, it's so sad!

  • @Trumblebee Oh God, i wish today most young africans didn't want to look like beyoncé etc...

  • The Masai were called the "Bravest of the brave". Years ago, before a Masai became a "Moran" - a warrior - he had to grab a charging lion by the tail.

Read "Return to Tsavo" The lions there are still exceptionally BIG and killers, taking livestock AND people.

But they AVOID the Masai. With their tall, think bodies, red cloaks and long spears, they stand out. They can hit a lion at 100 yards - and the lions know it.

  • This is sort of tight!

  • I'm sooo ! proud beautiful, so authenic;

  • this is quite entertaining but i wud b scared to death if i wud meet them somewhere on the street :O

  • it's amazing just to watch how extremely rich the culture is. i'm soooo grateful that, as a black person, my parents raised me with this type of knowledge. i feel for people, of all races, who are totally oblivious to this richness.

  • @in991 Yea man, africa is very special, it's where we all came from black, white, asian etc were all the same really, but we all need to look back to all our roots and thats what we've lost in this modern society, it's gradualy coming back though... :)

  • The white people who attacked the African Traditions did so because their own Culture was destroyed by Christianity. Prior to Christianity we had much in common with these people, living in a tribal institution, animistic veiw of nature, and worshipping mighty and powerful Gods. All Radical Traditionalists should band together and fight against Modernism. I support the continuity of the African Traditions.

  • @widugeist Excellent comment! Get ethnic.

  • @widugeist i agree. in several cultures. many were destroyed or almost disappeared b/c of Christianity. Just like how my culture almost disappeared.

  • @widugeist I'd like to know how white people like me can get back to my pre-Christian heritage.

  • @blewj

What is your ancestory? Which part of Europe are your ancestors from?

  • @widugeist A variety of Celtic ancestry: Irish, English, Scottish, and Welsh.

  • @blewj

    wwwdotanglatheoddotcom

  • @widugeist Thank you!

  • @widugeist Christianity is not responsible for the cultural destruction. It was the weapon, yes, but its use as such was disgusting blasphemy committed by greedy people who manipulated Christ's and the Apostles' teachings for their own gain. These people are NOT Christian, nor do they practice Christianity, regardless of what they claim. And I, as a follower of Christ, will always fight against the people who abuse Christianity to commit such evils as you speak of. Make sense?

  • The emperialist ( colonial masters n their missionaries) came to Africa to bury our rich past and heritage. the said it was savage and mundane. We were forsed to adopt colonial ways. Today, most Africans are turning back to thier past. so of redifining their identity. As the saying goes, IF YOU DO NOT KNOW WHERE YOU´RE GOING TO, DON´T FORGET WHERE YOU´RE COMING FROM.

  • i love the low tones that some of the men make its sooo awesome, visited a Massi camp in Tanzaina it was amazing

  • this is so ancient...its futuristic

  • The "choir" sound reminds me off the aboriginers song (Australian natives)

  • love my country so so much.

  • *WHAT ARE THEY SAYING?

  • Comment removed

  • don't understand what they're saying but it's beautiful

  • the first one singing looks like Tsu'tsey from Avatar

  • That song needs a beat.

  • @Antiks72 The singing/chanting in itself is a beat! They jammin', ain't they? ;-)

  • they sing beutifully and intresting

  • I don't know if it is true, but i've heard tha the lions are afraid of this men's in red. Looking like a teacher, i think some of then could be a good high-jumpers. Anyway, i think i prefer his pure culture then all.
