  • Tony is the man!!!

  • Awesome, I saw Genesis in Phila during this tour.

  • @johnMcCarthy1022 mee to they played a great show

  • stunning!

  • And the crowd roared at the end of the song, how could they not!! Phil is still the man even if he isn't performing like this anymore!

  • oooyaaa

  • thank you for posting this.

  • I think this version is way better than the studio one. This one just fills me up with adreniline

  • If this song doesn't make you want to play air drums, I don't know what song would.

  • This is so fucking epic.

  • The 5 dislikes are probably watching Captain and tennille videos

  • What kind of guitar is Mike Rutherford playing? Do they make them anymore?

  • @modernoverdrive Steinberger Spirit. And yes, they're still made.

  • The four people who don't like this are deaf dumb and blind - and stupid! (there that makes four!)

  • My sister and I were there. Great night. Great drum solo. Great memories.

  • My favorite Genesis song.

  • I would say it was one of my favourites but just shows the class and musicianship they have in put together such an excellent song.

  • By the way, at the 6 minute mark, when Collins leans his head in the light-that is awesome. It's a creepy visual that fits the song really well.

  • @SilentGunman Man, you're right!!! I noticed that too, and I think it's intentional. Also that visual reminds me the mask of the 'old man' from The Musical Box a lot. :)

  • Favorite Genesis song who else agrees?

  • Una pieza magistral!!!!

  • Phil for President!!!!!

Only one word can describe this song: PERFECTION

  • Back in the 70's, I dumped a girl because she didn't like Genesis. I've never regreted it!!!!!!

  • @mypalchester LOL I hear ya. It's hard to date a girl who doesn't like your fav bands or rolls her eyes when you sing along to those golden "oldies" from the 70's or 80's. I think you made a smart move.

  • remember when I was in the middle high school.... hmmmmm...for nice person wth nice music...!!

  • Ûhm_Ì_fÉel_sO_lÖÑÊlÿ_tôDaý

  • so freaking epic, its so depressing music like this isn't made anymore and probably wont be.

saw them a few years ago in concert and it was amazing

  • orgasm....simply genesis.

  • he's an actor and romantic! wow! Not even Elton John can claim all of that!!! and Elton has been my favourite since 1975!

  • I love everyone who love this song. We, deepfully, share the same emotion.

  • I wish Laser Disc was still around lol

  • This music is tattooed on my very soul.Thank you GENESIS for all the good feelings that your music gave/gives me. Stephen in Florida-Virginia

  • Tony Banks... one of the most underrated and best keyboard players in progressive music!

  • what year is this??

  • I have this show on DVD its amazing such a good show nice atmosphere a breezy calm evening at wembly

  • This is the greatest music I've ever heard. It touches the universe...Thank you, Genesis...

  • @alexdrf1 genesis was/is better without gabriel...

  • 4 People have caught the 'Bieber Fever'.

  • I will hunt down and kill the 4 people whom disliked this.

  • Amazing !!! this is M U S I C ! ! !

  • This is brilliant. Thank you guys for the intelligent, positive comments. Genesis are one of the greatest bands ever - no question. The diversity, quality and breadth of their back catalogue from Gabriel to Collins is almost peerless. What more could you want from music. This is make-me-go-squidgy class, class, class! Also: Mr Collins happens to have a voice in a million. In particular, his vocals on 'Squonk' and 'Eleventh Earl Of Mar' are among the best deliveries I have ever heard.

  • Awesome, stunning, what music is, just fantastic, thank you!

  • The editing on this concert is AWFUL. I want to watch them play the instruments but it cuts every 2 seconds so you can't get a decent look at anyone. So annoying.

  • @BabaBabaBooey I know - it feels more like an extended MTV music video than a proper concert.

  • mike rutherford is really good

  • Super-Rafagas P. COLLINS :DD

  • I used to love it when DJ's would play both HBTS's on AOR. I don't think I have heard HBTS on the radio for 20 years, now. Oh well, glad I found it here, cause my cassette just broke and I was seriously bummed.

  • Rutherford sure showed on that piece how much of an accomplished musician he is on bass and guitar!

  • whaou! l'extase!on ne peut que s'envoler en ecoutant ce morceau de baterrie!

phil collins est un dieu!good save the phil!

  • Ah, 80's progressive rock... gotta love the mullets, digital drums, pinstriped suits, and headless guitars.

  • Everyone requesting Rock Band... (and please correct me if I'm wrong).. There isn't a keyboard for Rock Band is there? Because basically the person would need two of them, and might actually have to know how to play the instrument to even come close to what Banks plays. I hate to say it, but without Banks, there is no Genesis. (Unless you count Horizons, Entangled, More Fool Me, and a handful of other songs on Wind & Wuthering, but even then Banks played 12-string)

  • Awesome song by an awesome band , still this video is imcomplete.

  • @richardhalo You're talking about the missing In The Cage Medley, aren't you? I know how it feels. Good thing? It WAS recorded in audio form, so the audio still exists (Genesis Movement Torrents). :)

  • Almost as epic as Los Endos was

  • The makers of Rock Band 3 need to add this song to the game.

  • up there with the best

  • Comment removed

  • I always love to see them how they create these incredible sounds and work together as a band.

  • Favorite Phil Collins era song, and it's not even close.

  • fuckin awesome saw them at wembley about 1987-88 brilliant this one in particular go on them drums phil unbelievable what a night

  • Notice how Chester is right up there with Phil on the drum skills. Anybody know what happened to Chester? is he stil playing with some group?

  • @jlc7300 He worked on Phil's new CD coming out in Sept. He toured with them in 2007.

  • @jlc7300 Supposedly Phil Can't even drum anymore so if genesis were to do anymore performances theyd need him even though they're all getting old sadly and I missed them by over 30 years :'(

  • How come Collins seems to be only person who gan get the best out of an electric drum kit? So many just used them as toys or gimikks!

  • One of my favorite instrumentals

  • Who remembers the bottles of beer flying around at the front?

  • @SirJeffJones1 haha, yes I remember the beer bottles flying, not funny really, but he must have been really bad, I don't actually remember his set at all. I sailed past Collin's house on Lake Geneva recently, he has certainly done very nicely thankyou.

  • Hey, I was there, just to the right of the stage, this set was incredible, Collins and Thompson on drums (I saw Santana recently, I'm sure Chester was on keyboards). Paul Young did the warm up, and got booed off!

  • @TheBadger1957 did you see the poster some had for Paul Young. Paul Young is a W@*+#R

  • @SirJeffJones1 My 14 year old son has just walked in wearing the tour tee shirt I bought that night, won't fit me anymore in this lifetime, the legend lives on.

  • WHAT A WORK OF ART THIS IS THE BEST BAND EVER IN MY EYE'S!

  • The best hands down.........................

  • This is the only song that I've seen Tony Banks stand up to play.

  • It's awesome...

  • I just have to come back every so often to hear this song! It's one you never forget!

    A Masterpiece*****

  • me 2@jlc7300

  • ya just cannot beat the mama tour version but still FUCKIN OUTSTANDING..........

  • oh god this is awsome

  • No. Was about half way thru the show.

  • I saw them live on We Can't Dance tour. This song rocked. We were 12 rows from stage. Amazing

  • very good song

  • If you were like me and saw this live you can appreciate the power of this sound in a way that`s hard to describe. It buzzed the seats in the arena...

  • much better than part 1

  • This laserdisc has an better sound mix than my DVD-version especially concerning the guitar parts!!!

  • Laserdisc is uncompressed and generally has as good as or higher quality video and audio as DVD which has to umcompress and decode the information.

Sure, its the size of a platter...but it was a great format. The quality was a decade ahead of anything else.

  • @seanboud Yeah - it's a shame it didn't catch on (Laserdisc, that is). :(

  • This is their masterpiece!! simply GODS!!

  • And I give props to Tony, Mike, and Chester too. the band would not be complete without them, and the sound is unmistakable.

  • Masterpiece - Nothing else

  • @sparky160uk AND i cant dance

  • Phil Collins is the man, and Genesis is the bomb! True dat!

  • How many bands have a lead man that can play killer drums, piano, sing, compose songs, and be a cool guy? Phil is the DON! A legend!

  • The point is actually , what does Phil need the other guys for , if he has all that you say

  • @jlc7300 SOME PEOPLE CALLED THEMSELVES FANS DON'T THINK AS WE , ALWAYS TRYING TO PUT DOWN THE GRANDEUR OF PHIL ... BUT QUALITY AND GENIALITY ARE NOT ABLE TO MAKE US DOUBT OF ITS... GREAT GENESIS GREAT PHIL...! PEOPLE THERE DEMOSTRATE HOW MUCH ALL US LOVE THIS!

  • @jlc7300 Not many know that. Yes the only time he need the band and crew is on the road. Phil is awsome......

  • @jlc7300 Amen! Phil is the BEST!

  • @jlc7300 Phil can also play Trumpet

  • @jlc7300.......How great is a band that never really had any other band start the show for them - from what I understand it was always just a Genesis show from the very beginning - simply cuz there was no one else out there at all like them. I saw them in Winnipeg in the 70's and they played from about 8 til midnight with only one 15 min break - like who does that anymore???!!!

  • @jlc7300 What makes you say he is a cool guy?

  • @jlc7300 ofgs YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

  • @jlc7300 I agree! Collins rules + Rutherford-Banks-Stuermer & Mr Chester Thompson

  • @jlc7300 Don Henley - The Eagles

Phil is damn good too, for sure...

  • Usually live versions of songs are either inferior or just plain suck compared to the studio version. "Second Home By The Sea" is nothing short of a masterpiece & it is a great example of a live version being superior to the one on the album.

  • What do you mean "fashion mistakes? " This was the 80's, anything goes! lol! I think Phil could have performed in his pajamas and nobody would have minded! The music speaks for it's self.

  • Everwhere on the internet it says that the sdsV gave drummers a wrist-ache.

Phil Collins does'nt give a shit about

    any wrist-ache

He just smacks the crap out of those drums.

  • Don't worry, Phil still has all those songs and beats in his head! Home by the sea 2 is a masterpiece*****

  • very true, but the 80's were strange in that way ha ha

  • So true, good job the music makes up for it!

  • We weren't there for the fashion, we were there for the music.

  • my father always played genesis in the car when i was younger i think they are awesome

had this tour on video when i was younger think i still got it

dont think there is anything that can beat genesis live would love to see them live

  • 1st time to see this video ? "WOW!!"

  • One word : EPIC !!!

    Compositeur prolifique

  • Things that gonna make up your life.....mmmm

  • I bought my SDSV first, then later found an SDS7 for (wow) $50 at a music store in Atlanta, and while the SDS7 had greater programming ability as you say, I had a host of problems with it. I had no problems with the SDSV, and I liked the analog sounds it made much better.

And absolutely, Phil made great use of that technology, and integrated it seamlessly into his solo stuff and his Genesis material. Those sounds on the SDSV still blow me away!

  • Phil also used the SDS5 (or SDSV, as it says on the drum module) on the studio version of "Second Home By The Sea" as well. On this tour, Phil used both the SDSV and SDS7, but to my ears the SDSV was far and away the best sounding electronic kit to come out of the '80's. I wish I still had mine!!

  • Please NEVER delete this video! Genesis was the greatest symphonic rock band ever and should NEVER be forgotten. Thanks for the video

  • wish they come back

  • I was at this gig. My first ever gig.

  • just curious, what electric drum set is Phil using?

  • genesis is great live. i've seen them twice. they never disappoint.
