You recommend not to use smaller popsickle sticks because they are more unstable. So how much higher do they fly if you were to use them?

@SlackerSlayer They jump about 1-1/2 feet. However, an ortho weave with tongue depressors jumps about that high when the sticks are doubled. What I don't like about popsicle sticks is they have more tension so they're more likely to spontaneously explode from a broken stick or from warping. I'd be nervous to attempt a large bomb made out of popsicle sticks. Also, since they're smaller than depressors, they don't produce a very full 'stick cloud' when they explode. (continue)

@lunatim (continued) Because of their tension, it's very difficult to do specialty weaves like the cobra or diamond with them. Also, the shock wave is much faster than with depressors, so the duration is much shorter--which is either good or bad depending on what you want to do. Since they're much more likely to explode by accident and jump much higher, you absolutely must wear safety goggles with them. I don't use popsicle sticks much any more for stick bombs...

I invented multi-celled stick bombs in the early 80s--somebody in Hungary supposedly invented multi-celled bombs back in the early 70s, but I haven't heard of him until recently, but I invented mine independently of him. Once I've developed stick bombs to a fine art, I'm probably going to turn my attention to clever levers because they're more reliable and can pack a lot more power--and clever levers are solely my own invention...
