  • What with the creepy music? LOL

  • @LittleBitOfSunshine1 SCIENCE!

  • This is one of the most intriguing documentaries...thanks SpaceRip you are one enlightened individual with your videos

  • 1000 W is what my HPS lamps are rated at! :-) lolz

  • that was excellent, thanks

  • 40,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 watt. Sorry had to write that out for myself.

  • Kardachev aside though, this is pretty cool stuff. Harnassing alot of energy (Maybe by means of a Dyson swarm that collects energy from a star. Could no doubt be used for alot of interesting stuff.

Maybe it's possible to bend the fabric of spacetime with it, allowing interstellar travel. Maybe you could convert elements into lighter or heavier ones by fusing them or breaking them apart as desired. Perhaps you could reengineer stars and planets to create habitable star systems.

    Could be fun!

  • Why is Kardachev's sci-fi idea taken so seriously? It's pure speculation passed off as fact, and nothing else.

It might be quite possible for example to colonize the solar system and send sub-light spaceships to nearby stars without harnessing anywhere near all the energy of the solar system.

It's not that Kardachev's idea is completely terrible, just it's merely a notion. It doesn't predict the future and it's far from indisputable.

  • @TheSkunkCat

I also think Kardachev's idea falls apart past Type II anyway. Obviously there's nothing out there harnassing all the energy in the galaxy, because well... they're obviously not harnessing anything in THIS solar system. And what would you even DO with that much energy anyway? I doubt there's all that much that can't be done with just a cluster of high energy stars... Unless you where trying to reengineer the entire universe (Which we don't see anyone doing.)

  • @TheSkunkCat

Now knowing the mindset of the average person who'd argue with me about this. (And most of the youtube population far as I can tell.) I'm going to assume the arguer is a fellow atheist.

Now why do we atheists not believe in god(s). No evidence.

Why do I not believe in the existence of something harnessing the energy of our galaxy? No evidence.

It's a reasonably neat idea this Kardachev thing, but to treat it as more then that is silly.

  • 1:48 Windows desktop xD

  • nearly a 1000:1 - like:dislike ratio

  • very interesting video thanks for the upload

  • Energy is potential difference.

  • Comment removed

  • warp.

  • the one thing that pisses me off most about mankind, is the widely unrecognised potential we have. we landed on the moon 43 years ago, surely we should have been to mars by now...

We pay too much attention to the hatred and anger we share for each other, most of which is caused by mankind's biggest problem: Religion. Just think how much better off the world would be without religion. Many wars would be prevented, there would be much less hatred and we would strive to visit other worlds.

  • @elmotouchesme97 Not only religion, but people's bigoted prejudice on others, human nature will end up killing us all before we have a chance to reach our full potential

  • i don't get why people think a black hole is a tunnel through time and space... it's black because it's gravity is infinite, preventing light from escaping, but it's not a hole.

It is basically just matter tht has been sucked into the "black hole". It is not a hole but rather an object, just like a star, that has a clusterfuck of gravity andeats anything in its' path

  • Anyone who thinks that physics is useless should get off the internet and go tend to their livestock. They're probably the same idiots that think exploring space is/was useless; yet couldn't make it through a day without using technology that came about as a result of space exploration. Physics is, at it's most base part, the study of everything. If you can't grasp that concept then I pity you and hope the education standards get better where you live.

  • It's over 9000!

  • 15:35 Holyshit its like. A HOLE Threw time and space. I guess that's a Black Hole right there. Lmfao, Its a HOLE threw space and time. God it is scary who knows where that fucking leads. Probably to nothingness. Wow, Infinite Nothingness.

  • @neko13nya Some scientist believe what lies inside is everything it's ever consumed mashed together into energy, along with light desperately trying to escape but only continuing to be sucked in. Plus because the gravity is so dense time would be infinitely slow (not frozen, but slow). So what you'd see would be energy (whatever that looks like) and very very bright light all moving in super slow motion. Atleast that's just one idea.

  • Once when we (humans) stop the greed and killings and start using our brains openly and share informations with each others, then we may start advancing towards greater civilisation... At present, we are close to going back to stone age....

    My theory :)

  • @SaleADL Agree!! Humans are clever enough to invent nuclear weapons, however, they are not clever enough not to use them. You're right that we are going back stone age...

  • these videos are absolutely useless, this information is in no way supported with explanations nor inserted into a context. This info only makes people confused about nature.

  • @WolfProductions27 I think you are just confused. The only thing "absolutely useless" is your narrow-minded comment.

  • fucking useless

  • @itssooshal You are trully a physisist. (sarcasm)

  • Astonishingly good!

Lucas and Rodstein at their best!

  • So far pretty good. Minor note. 02:29 I heard that gravity is a force, not energy.

  • @earsonsounds Well they both kinda the same.

  • @TralalFace They are related, but they are not the same. Simplest case. You have a book on your desk. The force of gravity is acting on the book but is balanced by the force from the rigidity of the desk. With the forces balanced the book stays there. The book does have potential energy. If you slide the book off of the desk the force of gravity will accelerate the book towards the floor.

  • @TralalFace So the force of gravity changes the potential energy of the stationary book on the desk into the kinetic energy, or motion, of the book falling. When you take a physics class you can apply this, and a lot more, to how things work. You'll need math too.

  • @earsonsounds Well, thankyou :O

  • @earsonsounds thimk they ment gravitation potential energy

  • Why would you dislike this video? Surely you would have to be interested in this type of information to come here in the first place. Maybe the people that disliked the video should go back to the Disney channel?

  • this is such a mind fuck

  • I always look forward to your 20+ min uploads, SpaceRip. Keep it up!

  • That blackhole has nothing on Chuck Norris.

  • @MasterHaidar Chuck Norris's existence is threatened by the power of a black hole lol.

  • Nice work dude....fantastic...!

  • nova at 3:00?

  • What's the hottest place in the universe? INSIDE. MY. PANTS.

    Sorry, I had to.

  • according to the like bar 20 religious people watch this vid and couldn't understand it

  • @TheMannInTheShadows Try not to be so ignorant. I'm religious I really enjoyed this video...until I saw your comment anyway.

  • @CJEJTHEDJ im sorry but it is good you watched and enjoyed it means you are of a open mind and i had a moment of weakness but there are people who would ask those questions

  • @TheMannInTheShadows wow, it is ignorent people like you which causes a lot of the crap wrong with this world. The more people like you make fun of the other side of what ever issue, the more tension you creat, the more tension you create between eachother the more wars get started, the more wars that gets started which means more death meaningless death. Just shut up and quit the damn ignorent comments, try to show some respect others believes just as I respect your atheism

  • imagine being seriously religious and watching this OMG i have electric in me why dont i get electrocuted its god thats why god insulates me

  • Why are you so slow

  • I must play space station 13.... XD

  • I dont get it

  • Intersellar travel is inevitable. Worm Hole usage is inevitable IF they exist.

  • It's over 9000!!!!

  • im watching this muted, listening to pink floyds echoes high as fuck, and i must say, it is just beautiful

  • I love cosmic journeys

  • 600 trillion watts? from a hurricane? we need to invent a cloud plow or something... harvest that electricity!

  • @Lushhdog11 they're called a wind turbines and they already exist..

  • @cram1nblaze Turbines on that scale of efficiency mr know it all! I've been looking into Vertical Axis Wind-turbines (VAWT) from missouri wind and solar, they cost $2000 and generate 500 watts.

  • 19 ppl are from the future and probably have a new theory which will blow our mind. Oh, and they clicked the dislike button from their homes on Mars.

  • Comment removed

  • @kingdave7 or they are from the past and believe in fairy tales like religion, and hence disapprove.

  • @kingdave7 I don't think humanity will continue until we create time machine. We will all be extinct in near future.

  • @kingdave7 I think that colonisation of Mars and invention of time travel will come sooner then solving the mystery of black holes... but who knows... :P

  • @kingdave7 no they didn't

shut the fuck up, you're not funny

get back in your cave you stupid fat whore you have no friends

people like you should get burned at a stake you disgust me piece of shit

  • @ZFO3 lol, u should really work on that anger bro.

  • @kingdave7 Yeah... the "new theory" is called the electric model. The standard model is complete bullshit! :-) Peace

  • 19:56 there's blue dots behind the Earth.

  • mind = raped by knowledge

  • I'm surprised they didn't mention the power of dark energy. It's what drives the continued expansion of the universe and makes up more than half of all normal matter and energy. It will ultimately determine the fate of the universe ripping apart clusters of galaxies and eventually ripping apart the very essence of all matter. Now give me that in joules and watts !

  • Astrology is a very small barrier between madness and... some psychodelic animations and epic narrations

  • Very cool! too bad our "closed system" doesn't jibe with what is obvious, tis a way of "making things work" ...flawed at a fundamental level. It does have advantages, debatable advantages... we can use closed and isolated systems to observe and measure things, but... an isolated system is pure fiction..therefore all Laws and applications based on such a system are invariably flawed -.^ I <3 physics and space! :D

  • OMG I JUST THOUGHT OF SOMETHING!!! How about we harness the power of nature and use it as energy instead harmfull gasses and unsafe coal...ohh wait we can?! why are we not doing it !!!

  • its a great video, and i have seen most of them, but the only wrong bit of information is that r136a1 is the brightest star yet discovered. it is the heaviest, but Sirius a is the brightest. wait, i might be wrong...

  • 5:30 the moon is in front of the clouds :P

  • ELCK

  • I'm... I'm getting.. nggh!!..smarter!

  • Wow...this was an AWEsome thought-provoking vid!

  • We will see this world in the grave if we keep going this way it will be used up.

  • i guess my mind juz got pumped up with some strange energy out of nowhere..

  • Another absolute stunner from Thomas Lucas and Dick Rodstein,

    Superb!

  • I see, I was thinking about a solar-driven car, or an antimatter rocket, but now I see, I need to collide two black holes and I'll get my house to mars in no time at all!

  • I suggest a planetary manhunt for each and every commercial production company, then shooting them into Saturn.

  • This vid is all bullshit. The pictures you see are computer generated and are not reality. The contentions made are ridiculous and the fools that believe it are nothing but dumb sheep.

  • @phdequipped Why the anger, friend?

  • @phdequipped what makes you think that? Didn't you hear? NASA sent probes to the event horizon of our milky way's central black hole to capture footage of the colors, and the colliding of the two black holes is a sped-up film from the last 100.000 years.

Gosh, some people should watch the news more often.

  • @handplanty OMG. The news? NASA? Biggest liars of our century next to government and church! LOL!

  • @phdequipped Looks to me this short-sighted fool hates everything other than hippies car, guitar and lifestyle.

  • @phdequipped Too obvious, troll. Too obvious. Be more subtle next time.

  • @ianman6 Wow. What an intelligent statement. You have proven everything.

  • @phdequipped I really don't need to "prove" anything on these particular subjects. All any reasonable person has to do is watch the daily contentions of these institutions and then compare to reality as it occurs. Governmnt yells, "Peace, peace! (And there is never any peace). NASA, yells daily, (Among other equally ridiculous contentions),"Black holes are deeper than we thought!" (Have you ever been to the bottom of one? Ha)! The "Church.." "God needs your money!" Friggin please..

  • in other words...we are looking at the real meaning behind FUAAAAHHH!!!!!

  • i just hope that there can be another pink floyd band somewhere irt should be

  • 17 poeple were people from Level 4 civilization.

  • Great & amazing video... Very good information!

  • 17 people accidentally clicked the dislike button, it's okay we forgive you.

  • i go to sleep to these videos

  • who could possibly dislike this video? There's no way anyone was offended. I mean seriously, how could someone dislike this video so much that they mindfully felt like they had to click the dislike button. Unless they were ultra-fundamentalist christians. Not that there is anything wrong with being a christian but the fundamentalists are crazy. The fact anyone disliked this video is more mindblowing than the video itself. I've lost all jope goodnight

  • @szubanator As an honest Christian, I'd just like to point something out. I do not believe God would want myself or anyone to be ignorant of the world, the life around us, or that paradoxical thing we call reality.

To study these fundamentals and search for greater truth is not something unequivocally anti-Christian, or in a broader sense, anti-religious or anti-spiritual.

They are two sides of the same coin.

  • Damn nature, you scary

  • This video...is amazing. I really started to feel humanity's puniness when it started talking about the power of a quasar. @_@ Speaking of which, I need my brain reactivated...

  • Our Universe is SOOOOO friggin' Bizarre !!!! ...Awesome, yet scary! :O

  • in other words- a description of orgasm.....on a large scale

  • I think this video is kind of incomplete. It should have ended on an attempt to calculate the power of the entire universe.I wonder how much that is?

  • I'm just speechless when I watched this.

  • I got as far in as 19:20 before my brain exploded!

  • Level3 Civilization ftw!!

  • Must...destroy...youtube...ads...

  • @moocowyz125 ad block plus add on for mozilla firefox, take a look at it ;)

  • "Narrated by Dick Rodstein"

    LOL

  • my brain is ready to explode with amazement must.......click........like.......button!

  • @Kicks2094 this is probably because ur american, americans are known to have small brain

  • @MrSmigul We are also know to have beaten you fucks in the revolutionary war

  • @MrSmigul We're also known to have invented the transistor, microchip, personal computer, internet, and YouTube is down the street from my house. So feel free to shut the fuck up.

  • @aluisious big lol to u ignorant fool, first of all computer was invented in germany, transistor and micro chip were designed by german technology and by german scientists, yea you can have you tube, big tool for jewish propaganda..

  • @MrSmigul You're an idiot. There's no way of getting around it. Only an idiot makes up his own set of facts.

Stop speaking my language, faggot. Go find a german web site that hosts video and post there.

  • @aluisious your language? americans dont have their own language, they speak english lol :D,yes u.s is just abandoned british empire colony, this is internet, you think i should find german sites because internet belongs to american? no it doesnt, the world doesnt belong to you,u try to be masters of the world, but in reallity everyone just hates u,and one day when u collapse(u already stardet to collapse,ur in crisis,ur military is now shrinking) then the rest of the world will crush u like a bug

  • @MrSmigul @aluisious An idiot swears in a debate and an idiot, tells people what to do on the internet. USA was not abandoned, they fought for their rights. Yes a lot of people dislike USA. MrSmigul maybe form Germany but he knows how to use English much better then you. I think both of you should stop this discussion, because no one is going to win.

  • @7funcrap I concur, this agitation and threat scenario gets so old. It is what leads to conflict and war.

  • the begining of this reminded me of the begining of the outer limits episodes

  • Thorium presently powers plate tectonics...

Soon, it shall power planetary civilizations...

  • what's his name? "Her mom want hell holes"?

  • fortunately, their brains then exploded

  • fortunately, their brains then exploded

  • Why the hell do we keep calling it "OUR universe?"

  • @MinersCraftTube Why not call it "our universe?" We are a part of it. It's like having a hand (of course a hand can't talk but best thing I can think of at the moment.) calling the body his body. He's part of the body but still calling it his. He's just stating that he's part of it. or a boy calling a house that belongs to his parents his house.

  • @firehop3 Because "OUR" is a possessive pronoun. It's not OUR universe, because we don't own it, nor can we ever own it. It's OUR body because we are the body, so therefore it's ours. A boy calling his parents' house for his is also wrong.

  • @MinersCraftTube i disagree.

  • @KillerNumberX You don't even have an argument as to why you disagree, so it's an invalid disagreement.

  • @MinersCraftTube

i agree, but a little bit disagree (excuse my bad english, its not my mother tongue).. see, we call it OUR universe because its the universe we live in. a boy saying his parent's house as his is wrong in both moral and grammatical terms. but if he said OUR house, its not wrong.

. we say OUR in universe as a term that involves ETs also (if ETs exist), its not at all possessive. so its not wrong. its just like saying "this is OUR country". =)

  • @lion95805 I don't care. It's a possessive pronoun and it still is wrong.

  • @MinersCraftTube

i don't think it really matters if we call it OUR universe, or GOD's universe, or HER universe or MY universe..it doesn't matter if we call the universe a cosmic soup. we all know the meaning anyway.. we all know we are talking about this universe.. haha, i don't mean to offend, but does the word OUR universe really bug you that much that it suddenly becomes significant?

  • @lion95805 Does it matter if it bugs me or not? That's not my point. The point is I suddenly came to think of the "our" is a possessive pronoun and that it sounds weird. There's no reason to go all shit about it.

  • @MinersCraftTube take it easy man. i'm just asking.

  • @lion95805 Since you asked "so nicely," I'm going to say "no, it doesn't bug me." The thing is that it just went up for me that "our universe" sounded weird.

  • @firehop3 My point is that there should be some other words for something we are part of.

  • Feels like a Twilight Zone episode...

  • What happens at the center of a huge galaxy when when a hundred black holes collide?..why stop at two?

  • Too bad religion rules the world instead of science.

  • one question that i bet millions are wondering, what caused the big bang?

  • that's really a no answer question, because at the instant the Big Bang happen, there was no time, space, or any kind of radiation to leave any kind of clue. you can speculate to mere nanosecond after, but hell, this question is one no one can answer. you can buy the M theory if you want, but that one will just mind rape you more...

  • Cool video! Keep up the great work SpaceRip!

  • If you like this stuff subscribe to this channel (SpaceRip), there's lots more!!

  • Imagine two black holes swallowing each other. I can't.

  • @shoa31 It'll become a super massive black hole.

  • @OmniPsych -

I know it will become a super massive blackhole. I meant imagine the process of two blackholes swallowing each other to become one blackhole. What an explosion it would make.

  • Music reminds me of the music from FFX-2 :P

  • Check out the following video entitled: Fé Ciência Glauben Wissenschaft Faith Science Esmeralda Campelo Antônio Peters. With enlightening arguments and facts, speaks Pastor Antonio Peters in an interview about his book entitled “Alpha and Omega“ (English subtitels)

“The book Alpha and Omega is not based on science to explain the Bible, it is based on the Bible and uses science as a keyhole to say: "Look, the Bible already tells us this and goes even further! (Pastor Antônio, 2011)"

  • notice the clouds at 10:05 on the right side being blown out, that looks scary, right next to the pole you can see the sound barrier being broken ?

  • Would someone answer my question? How much energy is released in the Big Bang?

  • @mypokemonisawesome Hmm, since all of matter and energy technically originated from that single point in space-time, i'd say it released an amount equivalent to ALL the energy, contained in mass or otherwise, that is present in the current Universe.

of course, this works only if the 1st law of thermodynamics holds even during that cataclysmic event.

And even so, I could still be very wrong.

  • @intermission101 I mean how many joulus

  • @mypokemonisawesome 4x10^69 Joules (from the NASA site)

  • This is why I love Math, and Science

  • if i had a dollar for every time i' seen 12:58

  • @023132 yup i know right

  • 15 creationists ? When does kent hovind get ouf of jail?

  • there's some playing fault at 19.21, can't get it play again

  • :P awzom o.o I just presented an energy saving project to a science fair judge. Turns out that 324,000 watts of saving isn't that much after all O>O

  • 15 people were able to hit the dislike button before their brains exploded.

  • fortunately, their brains then exploded

  • @DeathBYDesign666

    17 now.......1,703..4know what a black hole is

  • excellent

  • asshole = black hole

  • wtf is up with these commercials i thought this was the internet

  • @Enlightenedonespeaks I stopped doing this a while ago, but get google chrome+adblock.. I have not seen an ad in a long, long time..

  • 14 people went through a black hole and lost control of their computer and missed the like button.

  • Centrifugal force? Really? I thought this was vetted by physicists. Could they not have said 'inertia'?
