An x-girlfriend loved this track. Couldn't remember the band name and pieced together the lyrics I could and you'd be surprised with the google results O-o. Fantastic sound, thanks for uploading this, fond memories.^^
@MultiBazilbrush Wow, that is something I did not know. Such a well written track. Must of released it at xmas and had to contend with the many cheesy records.
MI QUERIDO ERIK USTED ES COMO EL VINO CON EL TIEMPO CADA VEZ ESTA MEJOR , I LOVE THIS SONG MY DARLING, OLE OLE OLE OLE OLE OLE OLA, OLE OLE OLE CADA DIA TE QUIERO MAS OHHHH SOY DE ERIK ES UN SENTIMIENTO NO PUEDO PARAR. BUENA VIDA CARIÑO SIGUE ASI!!! Adriana de Argentina Calabria1966 tu fiel admiradora
@RockinHana01 Strictly speaking not entirely true. Erik Weiderman got his break by appearing on Hey Hey, and a guy who was putting a band together (who used to be in Moving Pictures), saw Erik and they all got together. The rest as they say is history. Not wanting to be pedantic though.
1988 I was really thinking of someone I will never forget, and especially that my dad dear was born in 1927! But OK we are 2011. What a wonderful song, I never will forget!
1927 were playing at Springwood (logan at the Barra Bar) as much as we love them my hubby wouldn't let me go to the the bogan, logan, bad joint, despite loving 1927 and all your music. I am a high school teacher and even use "Compulsory Hero" always when I teach a grade 10, poetry/ songs of social comment unit. I completely go into detail re: vietnam war, conscription in oz , pol protest songs and the beautiful, powerful, poetic imagery of the song.
1927 had two songs that played here in Canada in the late 80's and 1990's. I LOVE this group and think it would be great for them to get back together again for us who loved 80's music and for another generation to enjoy.
I first encountered them in SE Asia. Then returned to Canada. Then on one of our local FM stations: SURPRISE!!! (1927) on CHUM FM back then here in Toronto. This was one of those songs. Loved it.
I was living in the Philippines: that is where I first encountered them (1988/89). When I returned to Canada, I heard this song. Great band! Got the album.
Man the quality of this is terrible. Blurry as heck and distorted - the original clip has 4:3 aspect ratio. This has the top and bottom cut off and then stretched as well. Yuck. Where on earth did you get this from?
Maxi single de 1927. Además del increíble (+++++) That's When I Think Of You y su versión remixada (una curiosidad), vienen dos temas inéditos: Willing And Able (+++) con un estilo más R&R - similar a su tema The Mess - y el excelente Alright (+++++),
@MsDoug2009 The yanks that went and saw their performance for our Aussie tropps in Afghanistan, enjoyed it and said their music was great - incl this song
@TVCSD yes it is - not sure if you can do a link but if you search '1927 That's when I think of You played to soldiers', it will come up, the intro is done by Gretel Killeen
awesome song, i remember when it first came out way back in the day, still i wonder whats with the aeroplane being pushed away at the end of the clip?lol
Eric Weidemann was dicovered on red Faces, by Gary Frost, who is also in this band, he was also in Moving Pictures in the early 80's. 1927 recorded 3 albums between 1988-1992.
i wanna go back to 1987-88-89, in oz, what music , 1927, crowded house, martha davis, gyan , jenny morris, choirboys, proclaimers , bangles, roxette, hoodoo gurus, where are my tight jeans, "luv im off to the hairdressers to get my pompadour/ mullet , i'll be back later!"
@Macsrellik They didn't hit big in Puerto Rico but thats when I herd this song first I fell in love with it, but it took me 20 years to find, no title, no band name just a few words to mumble but thanks to internet I did and 1927 name for a band it was almost imposible, but one thing I knew for sure they where Australian, Ice house,Tears for Fear, Inxs, mid night ,outfield, love love you're music.
